the optical is something that is in the hardware. It even says in the distressor manual that with those attack release settings you can sort of emulate opto-VCA style compressors
It return the attach to 10 and the release to 1 because that's how the opto mode is engaged on any distressor plugin.....I like the fact that TRACks reminds you when you change that setting... If it didn't turn off when you moved the attack knob, probably the attack is adjustable as it is on the empirical lab arousor (attack modification)
Optical mode has a yellow line guidance around attack and releaae... Attack 4 to 10 Release 0 to 2 So you can change attack and release within those limits without shutting the optical off.
Sorry for my very stupid mindless comment yesterday (too much beer), I've watched it closer now, good review, you put a lot of effort in it, thank you for that! But I am actually curious about what you can say about how many compressors you need? I came to the conclusion that I have too many plugins that are doing more or less the same thing, that's where my burp originated from. But maybe that is too much off topic.
No worries! i appreciate your comment. You're correct.....most have way too many plugins that pretty much do all the same thing...LOL. In my opinion, I would say you should have a FET, VCA, OPTO style compressor. That will cover most situations.
@@HomeRecordingMadeEasy Yes, since I've upgraded my monitoring this is more evident than ever, I have way too many of the same thing LOL... And I can understand how when you listen to something that's new and shiny on sale, can trick you into think that new thing is better :-)... Heck, some old Waves plugins I've had for many years, still match it with some of the newest plugins on the market today, they really do sound oh so similar and in a mix no-one is going to know.
Does the Freq knob actually cause it to compress more at the selected frequency or does it just emphasize that frequency more, in terms of what's triggering the compressor?
@@JiihaaS no, the difference is the compression is equal across all frequencies but the compressor is more sensitive to being triggered at the selected frequency. Once triggered however all frequencies are compressed equally because it's not a multiband compressor.
T-Racks are as good as UAD. In some cases even better. I own a ton of UAD stuff and have spent many thousands on their interfaces and over 100 plugins, it's great but If I was to start from scratch i'd just get the T-Racks bundle tbh.
Great review, couldn't hear much of a difference between the two, both do an amazing job... I do like that UA one a fraction better though! Ashame you can't get the demo of the Impirical Labs one and do a comparison :-)
@@HomeRecordingMadeEasy I just did demo it against empirical labs and also Softubes version, they all sound very similar, if anything the IK Multimedia one is a tad warmer with the coloration knob (but it was just a very quick compare on my vocals)... I would recommend going for whichever one is on sale at the time for great results :-)
@@adammusic1124 I do like this IK version a whole lot. The UAD distressor of course sounds great too as does the arouser. To be fair they all sound fantastic, very similar. But I might recommend the Arouser because it's on the one hand super easy to use. But on the other hand it allows for super fine-tune control of each section as well, if you want to. But it isn't cheap. It's worth the splurge if you can get it on sale. I could delete every other plugin, just use the arouser and be happy. The IK though is on sale for $39.99 at the moment, that's hard to beat.
Hi My experience with Ik platform its nightmare, i try a hour instaling this. A 2 years earlier i try other giveaways nothing change its not intuive or efficient, its BS ! Even cnt send them message becouse "invalid characters" wtf ?! really Wy other companies can do this easy ?! But i must say ik had really good plugins (I try them couple years ago. dont ask how;) but platform register authorize etc its a BS. Thats my opinion. I write this after instaling this Comprexxor and after trying to comunicate with IK. Sory but its really anoyind (delictae saying...). I will never buy them if Ik dont fix this issues.
I have never had those sorts of issues with their plugins and I have never had any of my students mention this sort of thing. However, if you are having a difficult time then I would just use someone else plugins. IK does not make a plugin that some other manufactures do not make.
@@HomeRecordingMadeEasy Great but i cant using normal only on trial version and i tired to figure out this . UAD sounds more stereo and closer to real unit, I have slate digital version ,Empirical labs and deflector from UBK and comprexxor demo version, to my ears all three of them sounds better compare to comprexxor
I wouldn't be surprised. IK plugins always seems to be a lot different to their hardware counterparts and that's why I always end up using something else when it comes to analog emulations
iam not even not using my mastering room to hear that compresxxor sound really weak and bad..no saturation going on, but distressors are saturated comps for sure..so basically ik made not a distressor...what they made is interface with random compressor from coding guy head..so basically we have a digital something different which is just different...not bad..its different..different in mix are good

Dude the New Console is Beautiful! Smiling, Happy for !!! Incredible!!!!
Thank you so much. Make sure you follow me on MMA youtube channel!
I really appreciate the quality of your screen capture

The IK plugins are more subtle and can dial in more to me. It’s got a unique feel to it.

Glad you enjoyed it
I wonder why this is not showing up in the T-Racks Custom Shpp?
Not sure
pretty nuts that all compressor plugins don’t have a HP filter, let alone a Mix control. this seems great
Great point!
how are the new IK plugins on cpu???
very CPU friendly!
