Good advice for counter-sniping: the further you are from an angle, the sooner you'll see any enemies trying to push it. So if you hold an angle from a far point, you can snipe the cheater before they can see you

I've yet to see any assurances the database won't be abused by its owners/operators to make the game unplayable for people they just don't like instead of purely just cheating/bots. This has the potential for some dystopian levels of abuse in a very centralized position of power.
There's a particular moderator that has been marking people as cheaters for things such as having "watermelon2007" as their username. Same person will ban you from the discord if you have a pfp that they don't like.

A things I've noticed through in game testing with the Dead Ringer, and some tips for bot countering: Bots who are always scoped in have a slightly longer delay between detecting you and killing you. They will almost always kill you in one shot, especially if using the Hitman's Heatmaker. They will travel in a set path, unless you get into melee range where they will charge at you with a crit hacked kukri. If led behind obstacles, the algorithm will get confused and the bot will not know where to go. The best counter for these bots is to use a projectile weapon. I recommend the Huntsman or the Direct Hit. Bots that quickscope move a lot faster and have a very short delay between detecting and killing you. Taking on one or two at a time is child's play when using Brass Beast Heavy paired with the Chocolate bar. Consider having a Vaccinator pocket Medic, as that got me on a 27 killstreak against a full bot team. Against any bots, Demoman will always be a good choice for simply killing bots, due to the ability to bounce pipe bombs off of walls and place sticky bombs. This means you can kill from angles a sniper can't. However, I don't like using Demo against bots because I don't find it fun.
i had a similar idea, but never had the tools or brain power to figure it out. it was a spectating bot with the specific purpose of catching bots, not cheaters. it detected their movements, chats, and names with a biiig ole database and would force a kick accordingly

I feel so bad for MegaScatterBomb. Being the dumbass that I am, I thought I could at least attempt to get rid of a cheater, and one day I was bombarded with a bot that had their name. So I closed the game, opened up Steam to try and find their account, didn't, then gave up and just stopped playing for the day.
I rejoined tf2 in the midst of the Mega bots (i stopped playing years ago having barely played due to horrific connection issues) so I was left assuming he was a bot hoster. This makes alot more sense now, So thank you. I first starte dplaying 2018 since that's my oldest cosmetic case and there's a gap between 2019 and 2022. I was away from tf2 for a good while and i'm actually gegtting alot better at the game now :) I'm also one of the people who uses Aussie community servers. Honestly the only reason I was able to get into tf2 was because I'm used to games with no tutorials, so having minimal to no guidance is my default state in new games 💀 Also great work so far! I've been having a bit of trouble trying to get into the community and this seems like a good place to start off on!
One thing a lot of bots seem to have in common, is that they tend to shoot teleporters first above all, so by going engineer and placing a teleporter as bait, you can make a pretty reliable bot grinder setup.

ya know, my only guess is announce TF3, that's the only thing I can see valve doing about the game, but it's still unlikely, valve lost it's passion with games, since portal 2 there has been no good releases (not counting counter strike cuz it's honestly just the same thing as the others), all their games were either bad/boring, or not at all innovative (half life Alex being an example, VR is not a new technology, it was just implemented in a half life game, if you strip that away, it's the same vibe as half life 2, but with less content (at least I remember it being sorta short). I do have that little tiny bit of hope left... after all they still got 1 person actively working on the game, fixing shit, adding stuff, advertizing competitive leagues, that sorta thing... honestly I just wish they would go back to adding weapons, if they stopped doing cinematics I wouldn't even care. I have to disagree about Half Life Alyx, for the time it came out its use of the VR technology was particularly polished and innovative, in my opinion they really upped the bar in that domain, technical-wise it was great (PLUS, on the story side of things, it paved the way for potential future Half Life related content by effectively retconnecting the ending of Episode 2, so that’s something to look forward to as well)

I used to have thousands of hours in the game. But I haven’t played since the bots became so horrible. The worst I ever saw it was when they were straight up playing “horrible videos” over the VC.
Tip for LolRipK: There is a number of plugins for Blender that let you import Source engine assets, and one of them allows you to import SFM scenes and have the animations apply to already imported models. So you could do the heavy work of animating and maybe even scene building in SFM, then do the rendering and lighting and such in Blender!
a lot of people forget that there are 2 stages to the soldier tutorial, you have to play the soldier one again and click "continue" and then you will play an ENTIRE match of dustbowl with bots. After that the demoman tutorial is unlocked, the soldiers tutorial is the ONLY one with 2 parts
honestly, zesty made a pretty good point... an open source anti cheat is probably the dumbest way to do an anti cheat its a cat and mouse game afterall, and just throwing the anti cheat ware out into the open would make it alot easier for hosters to reverse engineer the code to circumvent said anti cheat

It is useful for people who play tf2 with friends, but I am not one of those people, mainly because all my friends dont have a conputer to play TF2 on, and I have teammates I randomly catch conversations with (mostly if they start it though), and never really encounter cheaters on my team other than bots, The only time thus year was not really confirmed, but they did have an ego hit after I casted suspicion on a suspicious move at the end of a round (flicking from one person to me just peaking a door at low health, with a very low possibility of them knowing inwas there on my current memory), and the ego really made them stick out more since they never talked, but next map, since I put out suspicion at the end of the map cycle, they guy started insulting me for playing Pyro, while I was only playing it to try to counter the soldiers and demos they had on their team, and then everyone just kind of turned on them somewhat, with the ego coming out when called out. Man, some cheaters get way to defensiv even if the person says a point that could counter their own claim (I even said that I dont know if thay is normal heavy gameplay or not). Anyways, sorry for the half-essay long comment, it turned to me saying one thing, to me talking about a "stupid" cheater that isnt even 100% confirmed to be a cheater (it was very closet if it wasnt even noticed by anyone or detected by someone with a program that detects bots and possible cheaters. If their ego wasnt harmed, then they could have gotten away a lot more, and I think they just server hopped or something like tha)

28:15 somehow, i thug-ed it out like a true gamer after my first 5 matches being bot infected gorge, bot infected gravelpit, bot infected dustbowl, bot infected moss rock and bot infected mercenary park back in Sep 2020, and by some miracle i even managed to get my friend who was new fps as a genre Though another 3 bot infected rounds on Oct 2020 and he surpassed me in playtime by 300 HOURS
To address the issue with tutorials not being accessible, you have to re-enter the Soldier tutorial so you can play a match that is populated by Valve bots. That way a player can learn how objectives work in the game. The person saying that tutorials are broken just didn't check the Soldier Tutorial PART 2.

I don't really understand how all of this coding and features work, but if Valve adds it to the game. I hope it comes with no issues or exploits. If that day ever comes, I might give it a wait for a month in case anyone spots issues that can be harmful. We are a big community, no doubt someone will find something in just less than a week. My last thing to worry for is that thing about demo recordings... I don't entirely understand how it's gonna work or I'm just not paying attention enough, but honestly I still want to use demo recordings for any possible future TF2 video I will do. I know it's an ancient method for cinematic shots but replays don't work in casual, and I actually love how demos work/feel. And I fear that any demo recordings will be deleted just because if this new anticheat gets added, it would then mess with my demo files trying to make new ones.

The default settings are like an antique. It's nice to look at but trying to use the damn thing would have you shooting yourself in the foot. And having to polish it so that it's actually functional is more effort than most people would go through just to use it.
when you started talking about ways to deal with tutors in game I decided to put this here I find it really fun to use a bunch of engineers we just block off every pathway and if there is a way we will then plan to push into their base then we'll cut them off at the source move our sentries from our base to theirs and bam Server taken back (kinda) However we normally don't have the time because someone will cap or worse there will be a few humans on the enemy team and if they might be unaware or just not care and they could ruin everything
I think the idea of a new Anti-cheat for TF2 has to be forced on YT and other online sources. We have to announce it to everyone to have a start to begin with, while it's still in Beta. And i really hope Valve would notice this anti-cheat and take into an account or at least Some support from devs.

I used to have thousands of hours in the game. But I haven’t played since the bots became so horrible. The worst I ever saw it was when they were straight up playing “horrible videos” over the VC.

Tip for LolRipK: There is a number of plugins for Blender that let you import Source engine assets, and one of them allows you to import SFM scenes and have the animations apply to already imported models. So you could do the heavy work of animating and maybe even scene building in SFM, then do the rendering and lighting and such in Blender!

a lot of people forget that there are 2 stages to the soldier tutorial, you have to play the soldier one again and click "continue" and then you will play an ENTIRE match of dustbowl with bots. After that the demoman tutorial is unlocked, the soldiers tutorial is the ONLY one with 2 parts

honestly, zesty made a pretty good point... an open source anti cheat is probably the dumbest way to do an anti cheat
its a cat and mouse game afterall, and just throwing the anti cheat ware out into the open would make it alot easier for hosters to reverse engineer the code to circumvent said anti cheat

megascatterbomb has done nothing for australias bot crisis except make it worse. casual is LITERALLY unplayable and all the community servers suck for aus. he just continues to provoke the hosters which only make it worse. "Tips on how to kick a cheater/bot: Get Friends to help"... yeah, very useful. It is useful for people who play tf2 with friends, but I am not one of those people, mainly because all my friends dont have a conputer to play TF2 on, and I have teammates I randomly catch conversations with (mostly if they start it though), and never really encounter cheaters on my team other than bots, The only time thus year was not really confirmed, but they did have an ego hit after I casted suspicion on a suspicious move at the end of a round (flicking from one person to me just peaking a door at low health, with a very low possibility of them knowing inwas there on my current memory), and the ego really made them stick out more since they never talked, but next map, since I put out suspicion at the end of the map cycle, they guy started insulting me for playing Pyro, while I was only playing it to try to counter the soldiers and demos they had on their team, and then everyone just kind of turned on them somewhat, with the ego coming out when called out.
Man, some cheaters get way to defensiv even if the person says a point that could counter their own claim (I even said that I dont know if thay is normal heavy gameplay or not).
Anyways, sorry for the half-essay long comment, it turned to me saying one thing, to me talking about a "stupid" cheater that isnt even 100% confirmed to be a cheater (it was very closet if it wasnt even noticed by anyone or detected by someone with a program that detects bots and possible cheaters. If their ego wasnt harmed, then they could have gotten away a lot more, and I think they just server hopped or something like tha)

28:15 somehow, i thug-ed it out like a true gamer after my first 5 matches being bot infected gorge, bot infected gravelpit, bot infected dustbowl, bot infected moss rock and bot infected mercenary park back in Sep 2020, and by some miracle i even managed to get my friend who was new fps as a genre Though another 3 bot infected rounds on Oct 2020 and he surpassed me in playtime by 300 HOURS
To address the issue with tutorials not being accessible, you have to re-enter the Soldier tutorial so you can play a match that is populated by Valve bots. That way a player can learn how objectives work in the game. The person saying that tutorials are broken just didn't check the Soldier Tutorial PART 2.

I don't really understand how all of this coding and features work, but if Valve adds it to the game. I hope it comes with no issues or exploits. If that day ever comes, I might give it a wait for a month in case anyone spots issues that can be harmful. We are a big community, no doubt someone will find something in just less than a week.
My last thing to worry for is that thing about demo recordings... I don't entirely understand how it's gonna work or I'm just not paying attention enough, but honestly I still want to use demo recordings for any possible future TF2 video I will do. I know it's an ancient method for cinematic shots but replays don't work in casual, and I actually love how demos work/feel. And I fear that any demo recordings will be deleted just because if this new anticheat gets added, it would then mess with my demo files trying to make new ones.

The default settings are like an antique. It's nice to look at but trying to use the damn thing would have you shooting yourself in the foot. And having to polish it so that it's actually functional is more effort than most people would go through just to use it.

when you started talking about ways to deal with tutors in game I decided to put this here
I find it really fun to use a bunch of engineers we just block off every pathway and if there is a way we will then plan to push into their base then we'll cut them off at the source move our sentries from our base to theirs and bam Server taken back (kinda)
However we normally don't have the time because someone will cap or worse there will be a few humans on the enemy team and if they might be unaware or just not care and they could ruin everything

I think the idea of a new Anti-cheat for TF2 has to be forced on YT and other online sources. We have to announce it to everyone to have a start to begin with, while it's still in Beta.
And i really hope Valve would notice this anti-cheat and take into an account or at least Some support from devs.
