Was looking for this comment. Was that the one where the car split in half and his half of the car he was in got slammed head on at full speed? Insane how a matter of a few feet stopped it from happening twice
Almost as bad as Michael Waltrips crash into the end of a wall, back in the day!! In that crash, the "Koolaid" hood was only slightly damaged, and covered what was left of the whole car, including Michael!
Whoever failed to lock/reinforce that gate should be banned from all tracks for life. Along with the tracks "safety crew" assigned to that portion of the track. There's no way that should've happened.
He is really lucky to walking away from that wreck. Fn gnarly!! Noticed the gate opening after watching the video a couple times. Wonder if the gate broke & gave away or if it was left barely open/not shut & locked properly

Yes, just like Michael Waltrip's wreck, they redesigned the track after these and removed that opening in the wall.
That’s good to hear that was a terrible design choice that almost cost him his life

This and Mike waltrips are extremely terrifying!!
That is what you call a MIRACLE.
Very similar crash killed Don Mactavish around 1968. Maybe nascar's worst wreck ever.
No, that would be Dale Earndardts crash, imo.
Don first split the car in half and then was creamed head on - in his exposed seat

I want to make a joke but it seems wrong. Dude walked away from 5% of a car. And that's scrap metal value and maybe a rim and tire.

I can't believe that he walked away.
Because he has legs
