Fun Fact: Rey Mysterio came up with the idea of being thrown like a dart against the trailer. Kevin Nash was worried he would seriously hurt Rey, but Rey talked him down and convinced him to do it.
No that’s not true. Rey told Nash: can you throw me through that window? (There’s a window on that trailer if you watch it again.) Nash said “bro no! You’ll die, that’s real glass it’ll cut you to pieces. Just let me throw you into the side of it.” Then Rey said “we’ll make it look more realistic so throw me headfirst like a lawn dart.” Then they both agreed on that. If they had gone with Rey’s idea we would’ve had a Goldberg situation where he busted the limo window with his hand instead of the bat and severed nerves in his hand and was bleeding out on live television because he nicked an artery in his wrist. Meathead.

Andy, thanks for putting out these great documentaries. They are so easy to watch and I love the archival footage. You have a great narrative voice too. Your content is very entertaining and makes my day!
I thought it all started to fall apart when they started recruiting all the new members. Some where great like the Giant (good to have another big man on the team) but when they started just adding members like they didn't even care if the new members had talent that's when they lost me. To many members lead to well CHAOS!!
You obviously haven't seen him in recent years then because he literally looks NOTHING like he did in 94. Sure he kept the handlebar mustache and bandana but that's it.
"As far as I'm aware, this trash out here represents the fans" You can hate him or like him but Hulk Hogan was probably the best promo cutter in the bussiness.
The original NWO in 1996-1997 was better than the WWE version in 2002 especially when Shawn michaels Joined which didn't make sense outside of the fact the Shawn michaels is friends with Kevin Nash Triple H joining would've been very interesting that would've been better than The Reign of Terror IMO
Who would even debate that ? & as for the reign of terror, the one good thing to come out of it was evolution. Unlike nwo it actually had a payoff with randy & batista becoming superstars once it was all over.
I was listening to the "83 weeks" podcast the other day and Eric Bischoff said that Jeff Farmer continued the "bogus Sting" gimmick in Japan for years after WCW folded.
Nwo had its ups and downs but mostly ups. Not only did they shock the wrestling world and gave something fresh and cool for the late 90s youths but this group also helped many careers. For starters it gave Hogan a fresh new start after the overstayed persona of Hulkamania into a heel role never seen before. Then it gave some midcard wrestlers who seemed to be going nowhere a brand new gig and eventually popularity like Buff and K dawg. Also Scott Steiner who's been in a tag team for the longest time was now given an opportunity to go solo and reinvent himself as Big poppa. Of course every good thing must come to an end and pretty much the Nwo elite was the final straw.
at the time the fans didn't know Hogan was a heel early in his career....so to the majority of fans seeing him turn heel was a new thing to them........I already knew he had been a heel in WWWF when Vince Sr was in charge..with Freddie Blassie as his manager. so Hogn turn heel to join the NWO was not a suprise to me.
Hogan turning heel at that time was brilliant. Almost as brilliant as the build up to the heel turn of Ole on Dusty. The 2 greatest heel turns of all time. The only bad thing was that too many NWO factions. That took away the appeal. The other genius move was turning Stinger into the mysterious Crow character.
I was in high school during the start of the NWO period, kids today just don’t understand how HUGE this was! Overnight everyone was a wrestling fan and everyone was wearing those black NWO shirts. It was also a huge source of pride for those of us from Georgia, knowing all of this was coming from Atlanta was just amazing for us! I’d give anything to relive those days.
i remember watching these guys staying up until 2am on a school night monday watching wwe and wcw nitro i even went to a local wcw show and got an nwo shirt. This was my child hood.
I was so lucky to have been old enough to watch The NWO come to life. God I miss these days so much. Hogan turning heel was a moment you just can't understand unless you were there.
I remember all this like it was yesterday!!!! I wish wrestling could go back to this style and these characters!!!! It’s nothing like this now! And it’s so crazy to think I remember when wcw was bigger than wwf, and then something changed and raw took over everything and nitro went down hill quickly there after but nitro was so sick while it lasted!!!!!! So sick!!!!

I would probably say Starcade was the tipping point. The botched finish, on top of that they completely didn't utilize Bret at all. It would have been perfect for him to come out, and instead of trying to re-enact the screw job, they should have done like they did for Wrestlemania 9. Hulk should have won, and then Bret should have come out, challenged Hogan and beat him. It would have started off Bret strong, protected Hogan somewhat as he was already beaten up from the match, and could have been the start of a strong program between the 2.
Sting kept nWo relevant for ages, but I think the real MVP was Diamond Dallas Page, he was the one day in and day out in the ring as the nWo foil. I don't think DDP gets the credit he deserves in the nWo peak era.

@@omalone1169 He's stated it in shoot interviews himself. You are welcome to look for Diamond Studd matches.
This is an awesome documentary! Can you do a documentary about The New Day as your next faction?
Scott halls taunt at the end is excatly what I do everytime I clock out at work
Great video Andy! Yeah i got nwo fatigue when the roster got too big. Too much of a good thing can be bad
I grew up with Hogans Hulkamania and Mega Powers phase, my dad was just a fan of wrestling in general; I still remember how we both jumped up with a big NOOOOOOOO when we saw Hulk preparing his leg-drop for Machoman, absolute and pure disbelief 😳😱
I been waiting on this!
its crazy to thiunk that scott hall was the first to come in and the one treated as last. RIP Scott Hall
Great vid! Really pretty damn insightful about the things I never really hear enough wrestling fans discussing across the UA-cam community...namely the significance & nuances regarding the connection between the Kliq, the NWO, & DX.
6:00. NO NO NO. Larry Zbyszko came up with the name when announcing, "they are the new order of wrestling", just an improv. Bischoff liked it, and they adopted the moniker.
No doubt one of the best factions and one of the best people in the faction Mr perfect , Hulk Hogan etc no doubt they are one of the best but that's just my opinion
Thanks, Andy.
Amazing amazing video! Thank you so much! You did a fantastic job!
I remember this. Seeing hulk turn heel was unfathomable for my ten year old mind.
Like the commentary in your videos so far! You give strong wrestling bios vibes!
My favourite team when it comes to wrestling in general will always be the NWO with Hollywood Hogan , Scott Hall and Kevin Nash. 🙂
16:30 when I started watching
The Diamond Stud (Hall) & Oz (Nash) were teaming up back in '91
Being a fan of NWO is just too sweeeeeet🤘 R.I.P SCOTT HALL. We miss you a lot.
I agree, Scott Hall was my favorite wrestler ever!!! Rip 🙏 Razor!!!
Andy, thanks for putting out these great documentaries. They are so easy to watch and I love the archival footage. You have a great narrative voice too.
Your content is very entertaining and makes my day!
Love your vids dude! So much nostalgia
14:30 let me see it
RIP Scott hall
Absolutely!!! Rip 🙏 Razor, he was absolutely the best!!!@
As popular as this faction usually is, it’s never going to erase the fact they were victims of their own success.
I thought it all started to fall apart when they started recruiting all the new members. Some where great like the Giant (good to have another big man on the team) but when they started just adding members like they didn't even care if the new members had talent that's when they lost me. To many members lead to well CHAOS!!
Less is more...
Hollywood Hogan never age, i mean literally, from 1994 till today he looks same
You obviously haven't seen him in recent years then because he literally looks NOTHING like he did in 94. Sure he kept the handlebar mustache and bandana but that's it.
It’s the Patrick Stewart effect! He started looking like a pile of misery early on, and maintained THAT.
Taking a class on "How the WCW Leadership Got the nWo Invasion Pulled Off" ... would be the most entertaining course in business school ever.
12:00 Crow character
I was there all the way from day one....best times ever 1997/1998
It started in May 1996 not 1997
@@My19812011
yeah my bad
Man, witnessing tat whole NWO saga firsthand back then was glorious! It’ll never be topped…4 life 🎉
When u gonna do a Nation of Domination video???
Awesome Video😎😎😎💎💎💎
"As far as I'm aware, this trash out here represents the fans"
You can hate him or like him but Hulk Hogan was probably the best promo cutter in the bussiness.
Though Shawn is one of my faves, you are right. Shawn would've made sense, if we looked at Shawn in 1997 (minus the strip poker).
So true. The original version was so cool in 1996 and 1997. The 2002 version sucked.
That literally goes without saying tho
@@mugabi9502 FACTS😂.
Who would even debate that ? & as for the reign of terror, the one good thing to come out of it was evolution. Unlike nwo it actually had a payoff with randy & batista becoming superstars once it was all over.
Nwo for life, Andy
🤘🏻4 Life 🤘🏻
There is the miz, story __ ok but where is the hulk hogan and vince mcmahon, story???.
Did anybody else see the video going blurry around 23:45-24:00? And again at around 27:40
Great work but you forgot syxx departure to dx and hogan's beef with russo.
Still have the NWO shirt from the 90's era and it is still new...Great video
Amos N Wilson Garveyism and the NW0
Hey Andy I have a question what happened to your WWF vs WCW and ECW invasion video please respond.
That was a great explanatory documentary. I recently watched an Eric Bishoff interview part of the downfall. When WCW changed its direction.
You should do a documentary about the bullet club
I was in high school during the start of the NWO period, kids today just don’t understand how HUGE this was! Overnight everyone was a wrestling fan and everyone was wearing those black NWO shirts. It was also a huge source of pride for those of us from Georgia, knowing all of this was coming from Atlanta was just amazing for us! I’d give anything to relive those days.
13:40 Heel authority
R I P toooooooo sweeeeeet bros 4 life Scott Hall and Kevin Nash the outsiders my favorite tag team in wrestling.
I loved the nWo! My three favorite wrestlers all together in one group! I have tons of nWo merchandise and even attended the nWo reunion. nWo 4 Life!
When you gave Hogan credit i died a bit
Nwo 4 life
🤘🏻🤘🏻
Hollywood hogan’s theme music is still 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
i remember watching these guys staying up until 2am on a school night monday watching wwe and wcw nitro i even went to a local wcw show and got an nwo shirt.
This was my child hood.
Literally the only stable that was responsible for the uphill and downhill of a company...
Could you please do a video on the Blue World Order that would be peachy
first of all r.i.p scott hall
I missed bash at the beach at 1996, as we drove into holidays at that time. That was such an impotortant event. Greetz from Germany
*WWA mentions Bill Goldberg Winning Streak*
Me: Thank God Wrestling Bios is counting the wins
N.W.O Baby 4 Forever
I was so lucky to have been old enough to watch The NWO come to life. God I miss these days so much. Hogan turning heel was a moment you just can't understand unless you were there.
What was blurred out at 23:53 and 27:28 ???
I remember all this like it was yesterday!!!! I wish wrestling could go back to this style and these characters!!!! It’s nothing like this now! And it’s so crazy to think I remember when wcw was bigger than wwf, and then something changed and raw took over everything and nitro went down hill quickly there after but nitro was so sick while it lasted!!!!!! So sick!!!!
What happen was DX..and Stone cold Steve Austin.. and the Rock.

Amazing video
Appreciate it bro, thanks for watching 🤘🏻💪🏻
I would probably say Starcade was the tipping point. The botched finish, on top of that they completely didn't utilize Bret at all. It would have been perfect for him to come out, and instead of trying to re-enact the screw job, they should have done like they did for Wrestlemania 9. Hulk should have won, and then Bret should have come out, challenged Hogan and beat him. It would have started off Bret strong, protected Hogan somewhat as he was already beaten up from the match, and could have been the start of a strong program between the 2.
Bill Goldberg's run was amazing...one of its kind.
Sting kept nWo relevant for ages, but I think the real MVP was Diamond Dallas Page, he was the one day in and day out in the ring as the nWo foil.
I don't think DDP gets the credit he deserves in the nWo peak era.
