Oh wow! Since the only aquarium retailer that specialized in aquascaping in Melbourne that i knew of closed I thought my chances of setting up a good aquarium were nil. But then I saw the insert of " find a dealer" in this video and saw the tiny lone marker in Melbourne. I looked up the Tropica site and got a link to a place here. They sell many of the brands George talks about elsewhere, as well as Tropica, of course. If only I could find a decent plant supplier. Baby steps. Better start saving!
Hi, I am thinking of changing from sand to tropica soil in my 125lt tank, when I put soil in, plants, decor etc and water, can I put my fish in straight away
@@TropicaAquariumPlants i’m about to do a similar thing, how long do i have to wait until i can put my fish back into the aquarium as they are likely going to be in a large bucket in the meantime, is this going to be a matter of days or hours?
Hi Shaon. Tropica soil is safe for both animals and plants, it shouldn't leak any ammonia in the water. tropica.com/en/plant-care/aquarium-soil/aquarium-soil/
I had a sand substrate - beautiful but inert. I inserted fertilizer balls, but still my plants languished. In addition I had HUGE brown algae problems. In desperation I switched to Tropica aquarium soil. My plants have never looked better. The water is crystal clear. This is an amazing substrate. My Amazon swords which were basically just melting are lush and green. I didn't need any layers or anything. I'm a believer. For the curious - I didn't have a tank to keep my fish in while my new substrate balanced out, so after I switched from sand to Tropica soil I simply added some quick start solution. This added beneficial bacteria immediately. I only had 4 celestial pearl danios, and they seemed OK. A week later one of them died, but I don't know why. I waited another week, and the remaining 3 seemed completely OK. I saw hints of some brown algae, so I added 2 otos and 5 Amano shrimp. The otos devoured the algae immediately. The shrimp just chill on my filter sponge and do nothing. But the tank and the soil look incredible.

My problem is all retrailers nearby have dirty plant sell tanks with snails and planaria. They never have the plants i want in 1-2 grow cups because of that I must buy everything online
There's no need to top Aquarium Soil with sand. However, if you want to have another layer on top, you can use Tropica Substrate as the bottom layer and place sand, gravel, ect. on top.
I ve been buying and using much plants, but came to discover that only Tropica plants are the ones that do well and are no waste of time, money and energy
Used the same substrate, my everything is stained in black now, from plants to all my filter and filter media aquarium have been cloudy for days. Did exactly the same as the video 👎👎👎
Glad that Tropica team up with you George, lots of great content.

Hi David. When you change the chemistry of the tank it's always a good idea to wait until it balances before you introduce fish to the mix.

I have a question. Do I put tropical soil first and on top of that I must put another substrate or I just put the soil as it is?
Hi. The soil can be used independently tropica.com/en/plant-care/aquarium-soil/aquarium-soil/
You mention fertilizer. When to start adding them in?
Does tropica soil leach ammonia in water?.

Sir how to get tropica plants in india
you can just put water in back compartment
Hi, if done so it will unfortunately move the soil next to the intake.
Glue a rock to the bottom of the wood instead.
That's a good idea! might make use of it later.
