Years ago, Monday was wash day because unlike now with our automatic washing machines, you had to boil the water for the whites, and then you would do darks in same water as it cooled down, also people had less clothes than nowadays, same with a baking day they wouldn't waste a hot oven or range for one cake 😊
This is my absolute favorite channel for home-making! And so much value outside of just that aspect, which is a huge one, but even outside of home-making, I find SO much value from your channel!
This is so true..... I do my daily in the morning before anyone else gets up! I clean up the kitchen from the night before, straighten the living space, feed and water the animals, sweep, shower then people start getting up and I can start the rest of my day.
I do it with my hubby after our kids fall asleep. We clean the kitchen, put things back in their place, clean the bathroom, do one load of laundry and in the morning I have things divided. E.g. everyday-folding the laundry monday-hallway, mirrors, dust, tuesday- vacuuming and moping thursday-plant care and quick cleaning of appliances friday-fridge cleaning and doing of grocery list. Weekend- refilling of fridge, pantry and changing of bed sheets 😊👌 and then monthly tasks such as buying the meat and cutting it into single portions .. all is done in the morning and we can enjoy the rest of the day. 🤩
I do those "days" like old fashioned cleaning people did. I also have a very small home and my older kids do their own laundry, to help. My mom just asked me the other day how my home is so clean with an infant and two teens and she forgets I have zero clutter and a tiny place that is easy to maintain. I think that is the key. Have as small of a home as possible for your family depending on the size of it, don't have stuff, and clean up after yourself on a regular basis, to make it easier. I am never overwhelmed by my home. I do like the advice you have given to people. That sounds like it would be helpful to many people. Definitely love that you clean your sofa. I was trained to do that as a child when my mom taught me.
I was raised by a mom who was raised by a mom (etc.) who kept house according to days of the week. *don't forget the important Maid's Day Off for lunch and window shopping after a busy week of household chores. 😊
I love the “spine” idea! It goes well with chore looping. A list of 5 chores like bathrooms, mopping, vacuuming etc If you miss a day just do the next chore when you can!
I agree with You one hundred percent on those cleaning tips assessment! I personally like to clean up as I'm maneuvering through my home; It makes life so much easier!
I noticed you vacuumed up a powder with your vacuum cleaner. I'm not sure if it was baking soda, but I ruined my Dyson by vacuuming baking soda off mattresses when I used to use that to clean them. :/ The baking soda was so fine that it went past the filter and got into the sensors and now it can only be used on the low setting (super frustrating). Otherwise, I feel so inspired by your video! Thank you, Angela!!
This is such a great tip! I don’t really have a “core routine” and end up finding myself running around like a chicken with her head chopped off 🙄 I will definitely create this core list and build off of. lol, I’m like u, I have become a complete home body and wanna start gearing my week to only having one “errand day”. Better planning, better planning…Thk u 🥰
I have really been working on my daily routines. I use the Fly Lady app and have highly edited the routines. Everything is in order of when I should be doing it, so it's a little easier for my ADHD brain to stay on track. 😅 I'm not getting many extras done, but focusing on my daily stuff has helped a lot!
I am 44 legally blind and have several autoimmune diseases one of them that affects my walking abilities. I am also a newly discovered clean freak. 3 years ago I was so depressed I couldn't even get out of bed I prayed to God and said what is my worth in life how can I serve my family and I heard him say you know how to clean do it and when you're tired stop. I literally started by making sure every night my kitchen sink was emptied cleaned out and dried. Once I mastered that I went from the kitchen sync to counters to table being clean. I gave myself a week for each thing and once I got that task down and did it for a week I moved on. With my illnesses there are days I just can't clean but the little things that I can do always get done . Now I have a routine where I break up Mondays into kitchen and living room days and Thursdays or Fridays into bathrooms and bedrooms being dusted and vacuum. Like I said with my illnesses I make sure to rotate and if I don't do it one day because I've kept up on it the week before it's not a total disaster. I was also blessed with a Robot vacuum which does help with the dog and cat hair. It doesn't get in the corners or under things but what I do is flush all that out with a good microfiber before I start the robot vacuum and then she gets most of it . God also gave me the best husband who makes sure he is home by 3:00 p.m. twice a week so that when I vacuum with my cane he can make sure I don't fall and he wipes everything high so that I can only do the lower stuff. We even got rid of my dishwasher since there's only my husband me and my 22-year-old in the house anymore and put in a washer dryer combo so that I can do small loads of laundry when I am able. This has allowed me to bless my husband in ways I never thought I could. By the way he also does the bathtub and shower cleaning so that I don't have a risk of falling😅
That is amazing! Loving the idea of adding in a new task to master every week. That certainly would make things more manageable with an autoimmune disorder. Have you ever tried any diets to try and help with that?
Try flylady! An oldie but a goodie as they say. Helped me understand what’ things are most important to keep up, instead of me going into my default overwhelm mode.
...My Grandmother had Baking Day ,and " meal prep Day " , lomg before Meal Prep was a thing, lol. She would grate cheeses, boil Noodles ( to refrigerate for use in the Week ) make Hambuger Patties, and put some of those in the Freezer as well. She also had " Ironing Day ". I was taught to do at least ONE load of Laundry every day, ..otherwise it is out of control, lol I can appreciate this Video ...because all the ' de- cluttering " and " Cleaning Routines " ARE Personal to each Persons ' Life , Family, etc. I get the " Errand Day ", because I would do that as well ! I would map out my Errands, and it was done, in one day.
I totally agree, I like the *idea* if designating days but it gets waaay overwhelming by the time the day rolls around again. It's really hard for me to actually make a schedule or routine for me and my littles. They are 6 and almost 4 and days that we have church kind of throws a wrench in any schedule I've tried to plan. Also trying to prepare to homeschool my son starting this year, so I NEEEED to get caught up and organized *STAT*😵
@angela.braniff Thank you so much for your videos I learn so much and your authenticity is so refreshing! I would love a video on tips or tricks to keep your van clean. It’s clean one day and the next days seems like it hasn’t been cleaned for months. God bless you and your family 💗🤗
Have you a recommendation for a good cordless vacuum cleaner? Small or bigger? My home needs to be often vacuumed because of my cat, but I always end up entangled in the cord of my very powerful vacuum cleaner, it is exhausting, so I always postpone the task but then, it’s even worse.
Tineco a10 cordless vacuum is good I needed something easier to pull out everyday to keep up with the pet hair! Makes me actually want to vacuum everyday . Good charge easy to clean . Not something to deep clean a thick rug but easy and quick and no cord! Hope it or whatever you select works for you 💜🙏
Angela-"you need to have a spine!" Me- "Ah. Oh yes- that's what I need. I need to be tough on myself! Conquer! Be tougher on the kids to help out!" Angela- "A spine of tasks". Oh. Heh.

Yep, I do the same thing, I call it my time😅
I love this! I recently had our third baby and am finding getting back to waking up early difficult at the moment. This is very inspiring

Being a stay at home wife and mother is hard, but I love it so much. There’s nothing I would rather do! ❤
I love the tip that you can't "copy and paste". Find something that works for you, YOUR home, and YOUR family! This plan looks so helpful :)
There’s nothing more rewarding than Caring for the people that you love.

I have learned this method from my mom and it works👍🏻😀 You just remember to be flexible and grace with this schedule. Thanks for sharing 🤗 God bless

Hej Ange, ❤
do you have or could you do a vid about your meal prepping/batch cooking?
Would *love* to see that & learn from it..
Also doing FlyLady customized for me. Really helps to keep on track 😊 You are making great videos ❤ thanks for sharing your ideas and advice
Love this advice! Definitely implementing this. And I like the theme instead of task mentality 😅
I love the new thumbnail and title. I personally find it more relatable as that is what I usually look like day to day.
Your kids are adorable. Do you have a channel or videos on things you do on or around the farm?
Flexibility is key! Love it and wrote it down in my agenda. ❤

Yes, and if the designated laundry day rolls around and you find yourself horribly sick….uh-oh!!!
Theme Days! 🎉 I’m here for it.

More videos of gardening & nature ❤😊
I can't find the link to the simple workbook she mentions
thank you angie
Good job Angela

@@thumper6425 Thank you! I will check on that one.
I got a cordless shark from Amazon that came with 2 batteries so I can easily swap if one dies and I wasn't done.

Angela-"you need to have a spine!"
Me- "Ah. Oh yes- that's what I need. I need to be tough on myself! Conquer! Be tougher on the kids to help out!"
Angela- "A spine of tasks".
Oh. Heh.
Which chores are a must for your children ? 💯✔️
I was told laundry day was the day before ironing day bcausw they only had electricity in their homes one day a week
It’s just me in my home, and still sometimes the messiness gets my attention. I think I’m just a little “creative” by nature.
❤
Dont leave out the aunts and the great aunts. Some of us are more involved as parents than the actual parents.
Ur in the minority lol . Majority of us don't have that😅
💜🙏
