I've heard SO many comments from Americans referring to or worried that a young person (12-14) is doing "child labor" 🤣🤣🤣 We are so removed from hard work here it's crazy. Just because a child isn't playing video games or on a smart phone and are doing physical work or chores does not mean they are forgoing education to do hard labor 12 hours a day in dangerous conditions... Letting children do a lot for themselves creates good self-esteem. How many of us rolled our eyes when our mothers taught us to do our own laundry, cook and clean? I was SO grateful to be the only one who knew how to do these things and take care of myself when I went off to college. Flee from idleness. Hard work is good for the soul! 💪🏽
I have a 2 year old and lots of times he gets bored when I run the chores, so I started to give him tasks. He fetches a laundry basket and helps me put the freshly washed clothes into it. I peel potatoes and he "washes" them. Or his favourite is baking cake or making waffles, because he snacks one or two spoons of dough. I hope that he continues to be so engaged. He feels proud of himself if he does something right and I get to spend more quality time with him. However it wasn't easy for me to include him in the beginning since everything takes longer or can get messier.
Okay I am about to be 33, I have one two year old, and one 4 month old and your videos completely blow my mind. I'm like the least "routine" human by nature, but my husband is very routine, and having kids kinda sealed the deal 😂. Routine is the only way to survive. Note to any of the other overwhelmed new Mama's out there, don't confuse having a routine with the expectation that everything will go according to plan.. just because things don't always work out, doesn't mean your routine failed. You got this.
Omg, this just hit me so hard! Thank you for pointing out that routines with kids are not a complete failure just because the result is not perfect. I was struggling so hard since becoming a mom with this.
@@SunFlower-xu5zx I had the same struggle, (and still catch myself occasionally after a particularly rough day struggling with this). It's a good thing to remember. Best wishes to you and your family ❤️
Thank you for #6! A “yes” to certain opportunities is a “no” to your family and children. I felt it, but you were able to verbalize it. Thank you, Angela!
Congratulations! Enjoy these times. I also like learning from CharacterConcepts here on YT. She has 14 children hence a ton of experience…. Congrats again! Exciting times for you! Hard at times, but amazing!
You are very good at putting your feeling or what’s going on around you into words!! It’s a skill I’m trying to get better at. How you said “ my body dosnt track time well” that was brilliant lol I would of never thought to say it that way.
Yes! Kids are so capable! I am amazed by how clean my 4 kids, 7 and younger, can clean a room when they're motivated by TV or video games afterwards. Once I discovered that secret, it took so much stress off my shoulders!
Great tips! Can you do a video on how to keep up your health as a busy mum? Like what supplements you take and other tips to increase energy levels as a mum.
Self licking ice cream cone - rock on mamma! I do most of these and it was really refreshing to have an echo chamber of “if you know what to do - go do that - go towards the things that are life giving “
Thank you for the part about kids & responsibilities! I so agree and wish this would get shouted out high & low. Work, responsibilities & consequences of actions need to taught to our children - our world needs it badly. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
My hubs and I use Asana for our running task list/to do lists/task assignments and it’s AMAZING. He has his PMP and he introduced it to me. My life will never be the same! I know that some people are like, “I have to write things down on paper,” but I’m telling you… it’s life changing. No need to set alarms on your phone or write it on your calendar. You can put tasks on repeat, assign tasks to other people, and have different views/formats… can’t say enough about it.
I'm not a mom just yet, but I'm a 21 year old homemaker at the moment and at first it was no problem doing household duties but as of lately i have become LAZY! I still cook and bake every now and then, and keep up on laundry, and dishes but I want to be able to acquire these skills and hacks so that i can have a happy home and still make time.
Thank you so much, Angie!!! This is so good for both my husband and I!!! He doesn't like schedules because he grew up with none... it's been a struggle, but he is coming around and has listened to your videos along these lines!!! I grew up with a strict schedule, or else, and so I'm trying to move into the middle so we can meet up peacefully, lol, and we are getting there! I stuggle physically, and He is such a helpful person, so i can not be too picky as I could be without any help!! But thank you for putting these helpful tips and balanced ideas out there!!! ♡
Thank you for talking about involving kids, and what we’re creating by not including them. More people need to see it this way. You are doing the Lord’s work out here.
I do rhythms of the day too! My kids stay home with me so we don’t have to eat at a set time but there is an order in which things get done during the day!

I needed the kick in the butt this video and the last dished out. 😅 Your last video just popped up for me yesterday and I hadn't heard of you before, but wow! I am impressed! You speak directly to me as a Catholic, homeschool, homesteading, mostly from scratch momma of 4 littles currently. Most people say oh you can't be lazy, look at everything you do, but I truly am lazy and apathetic wanting to be more productive.
Thank you so much!! These tips are vital to me right now. Starting a new job outside the home for the first time in 8 years - I’ve been working from home, and I’m anxious about being able to do it all as a single (widowed) parent. I love your videos! Thanks again!! ❤
As a Type A personality, I approve of this video 🤣Seriously though, this is right on point. I do most of these things already and you just confirmed it for me. Thanks Ang!!
So agree about involving the children in chores. They are part of the family and family is a community so they should participate. My kids did and they are that much better for it.
what a list of ways to help improve our lives! I will say that I tend to agree with all nine. I struggle with to do lists now, I haven't always, that and using a calendar and looking ahead is one of the ways that I really need to improve on! One of the things that I have decided this year was that I wanted to try and be more involved in my granddaughters activities. She lives 1 1/2 hours from me and now that I have a little more free time, I am semi-retired, I want that to be a priority. however.....I am meeting obstinacy from my husband, who still works full time and doesn't want me on the road. so, we shall see how much I buck him on this! thanks for sharing! xoxo looking forward to the next installment!
I like that you said it doesn't matter where you fall on the minimalism track. It is like you can be a maximalist and live in 200 square feet and use it all beautifully but if you moved it into 1000 square feet you would look like you didn't own anything and "needed to shop", or in reverse, someone with a massive home who may be a "minimalist" with the bare essentials for their 10,000 square foot home, could never move their minimalism into the 200 square feet without extreme downsizing, it just literally would not fit despite the fact the person was an extreme minimalist. If you have big closets keep them organized just like if you had small closets and vice versa. If stuff that belongs in a closet doesn't fit you may need to make some choices whether it's to bring in other storage, use the item in a different location or to purge things. I keep all of my clothes hanging in my one closet. The only things that are elsewhere is my pj's and bras/panties and leggings, they all are in a bench at the end of my bed. Sooo if things don't fit I have to go through the bench and get rid of the stuff I forgot I owned. With my closet it is an 8 foot rod with one shelf, it s a walk in and I have a bin with linens in there but all my clothes hang, if they don't fit on the rod its time to look to see what the heck. I don't go buy more hangers are look for a place to keep the things or buy storage containers to keep the things I am not using. I am far from organized but doing simple tasks like putting my laundry away is super easy! I grab my hangers and toss them on the bed, and add everything then carry it to the closet and hang it up! Any pjs etc get put in the bench. It is about a 6 min job that honestly used to take me an hour or more and things ended up on the floor or I lived out of laundry baskets bc I had no space. When I think back to older homes in this town, many of the houses are as wide as a door, it had a knob like any door and opened and the space behind the door was the entire closet! Then I think to the fact that these homes often had a dozen children and their standards of clean homes were much higher than mine and they managed to keep linens, clothes, toys, books, etc down to absolute needs and essentials and that tiny closet held it for everyone who shared that tiny bedroom! It's so crazy how much we "need" and keep when you compare to what were much harder times.
All of this is amazing-including that the end of Lost was 🗑️ GARBAGE!!! These tips have massively helped me, and continue to help me, feel better about how I’m using my time. Thanks for sharing!

All of which cause depressions... anxiety attacks have become part of my struggle in the last 3yrs ♡♡ I am currently carrying our double rainbow baby, and we couldn't be more thankful, but I'm pre diabetes and hypertension at just 10 weeks already... I didn't know that the prednisone I took last year made me diabetic... so I'm being sent to a Critical Care OB Unit to get baby checked for abnormalities ♡ I have a 5 and 3 yr and we are in the middle of getting our whole life switched to another state 8hrs away ♡ my dad has been in the hospital with brain bleed and then a staff infection and my mom is housebound due to alot going on with her physical. It's up to me as the only child living near them to get them to all their appointments and mine own 🤪 I do it gladly though ♡♡ God is helping us!!
It's such a struggle for me as well to get normal household duties done as I can't seem to catch a breath to slow down... But 🤞🏼 I hope to do so soon!!!♡ I am blessed with a husband who is a very helpful person. He does so much for me around the home, and I'm so grateful for him!!!♡ I can't imagine losing him on top of everything... I hope you have friends who care and are supporting you♡🙏🏼
@@kindnessmatters4068 I also have autoimmune diseases and FM. I came from a fertility struggle in my very early 20s. Many of our stories are similar. I pray this baby comes earthside and you’re both well.
