I'd take a TRD Pro over a Gladiator literally any day of the week
literally
I mean they both suck, the TRD just sucks noticeably less.

Ackj 375718 Let’s just say it is a less than stellar car.
Ackj 375718 I mean I do it is a red 2004 Ford exploder. I mean explorer.
Gladiator will come and go while TACOMA always steady climbing! Keeping it simple and reliable
Arrow head absolutely ,those tacos bad azz
I'm recently in my 1st Tacoma. 2017 TRD sport. I'm so in love with this truck. Unless my life takes a serious turn for the worse and i just can't afford it, I don't see me ever driving anything but a Tacoma...and my Harley of course. I've always liked jeeps, but I absofreakinlutely love this truck
Jeep cannot match the quality of a Toyota.
Really ?
You’re delusional - drove both & the Gladiator destroys this outdated junk. Where is your basis for “can’t compete?” Old and pathetic stereotypes.
100% agree with the quality comment but the Toyota factory can’t match the Jeep factory off road ability.
@truongtu0191 That's the only way that a Jeep will ever be associated with quality.
agree..after seeing some friends with jeep had already major transmission replacement with their jeeps..after 50k miles..
Great review on the Tacoma! I felt like I was there in the truck. Keep up the great work on being informative and knowledgeable with your reviews on the trucks. Makes me want to buy a 2020 Tacoma trd pro. 👍
You were cuz you were dreaming!!! Dreams do come true ya know!!
Thank you for the review! Great job man. Getting mine soon
Got myself a 2020 TRD Offroad in Voodoo Blue and I love it, it's also a long bed which I prefer.
Hendrix Vibe that’s a cool color
Hands down my favorite midsize truck. I just love everything about this truck. I chose the 4Runner for cargo and equipment reasons and wanting to have all my stuff inside but i would definitly choose the Tacoma over the gladiator personally.
personally
Me too. And everyine i know, too.
World truck. World company.
I can't wait to buy the 2030 Tacoma.
The lug nuts are not multi color haha
Its qc/ safety check paint
It washes off 😁

@@cesarconh895 why do you feel the need to put someone down
@@georgekell2344 what do you expect from a dirt bag.
The dampened tailgate speeds up after some time of use. It’s perfect.
Buy the off road and do the mods yourself. Still be cheaper than the trd pro and even more value than the gladiator.
Or love that Voodoo Blue I have or the new Green
@@jordank5975 they hit a home run with the new colors for sure
This has a Fox Suspension which for people that don't know is the best you can buy and it will run you close to 4000 dollars for this setup!! My friend is a suspension mechanic at Ford and told me all about FOX as it underpins the FORD RAPTOR! He says it is the best by far and most durable!! He said this kit is not particularly hard to install but is expensive!! You pay for a great ride on and off road though!!!
@andrew hord king and icon would like to have a word with you.
Stupid
It’s a “Toyota,” nuff said.
Thought he was getting lit up by an A10 warthog when he was looking at engine lol bbbrrrrttt
sratbghurt ME TOO😂😂 i heard that bbrrrrtttt
Hahah
He was. The 2020 TRD Pro has the new A-10 Warthog anti- defense system invisible shield. It's Toyota's best new feature.
Best comment I read today. Hahahaha
Dude that was funny
I love my blue trd pro. This things gonna last forever
Great video as always Ben, may I get your opinion / thoughts on the new 2020 Tundra TRD PRO? Thanks!
I like how he listed the marker that showed the lug nuts had been torqued and double checked as a feature
Trading my Toyota Corolla in for Tacoma TRD off road 4x4! Can’t wait to start working on it
Yeah I was originally going for a chevy colorado but now am leaning more towards this tacoma. Thanks for the honest review.
Is the trd sport have sporty suspension?
I’m 6’3 and don’t have any problem sitting in my Tacoma. Doesn’t feel tight for me at all. I love it with all my heart but cannot wait to upgrade to a raptor 😅
raptor and f150 is way bigger. You wont wanna go back to a tacoma after sitting in the spacious crew cab
Too bad that raptor will leave you stranded
rx8dude907 lol tacoma is the one with frame recalls and them snapping in half.
Ford raptor will leave u in d middle of d desert... Tacoma wont
Alfredo Toscano no it won’t 😂
Got this same truck last month without the step rails. Upgraded to bigger tires and a slight lift. Those wranglers are weak. I love this truck
I’m a Toyota lifer, but what’s up with the TRD Pro tires? At10:30 “I hear some tire noise”? How on earth with those GoodYears? PLEASE Toyota get aggressive with the PRO version!
Hi can we talk

My 2012 Taco is going strong 😎💪
I've have the 2018 TRD Off Road and I must advise to get the manual transmission if you can find them. The automatic transmission is not the best match for the engine and it constantly hunts for gears going up and sometimes down hills at highway speeds. Though it gets the job done, the factory throttle map is like a cliff. If you want to get any power out of the engine you have to really ask for it and you won't feel anything until 3800 to redline. My daily commute is about 50 miles, majority highway, and fuel economy is average overall at around 18mpg. In terms of drivability, road noise is noticeable but not deafening and high speed travel (+80mph) is surprisingly stable. Know that the driver side A pillar is a blindspot that will hide a pedestrian when making left turns. As for the box, the truck will squat a considerable amount with any load over 200lbs in the bed and you can feel it in the steering. Leg room for rear passengers can easily be very cramped with a driver over 6' tall. Something very annoying I've notived is not having grab handles like the ones in the rear for the front seats. I find myself on longer rides reaching for the headliner just to realize there's nothing there. You sit in the truck almost like a car and having that there would be nice. I didn't like that fact that the truck didnt have a steel rear bumper as an option/standard, let alone a front one. The amount of plastic used everywhere, exterior and interior, makes the truck feel a bit cheap. Also the paint seems very thin in some places and chips easily. Overall it's a very good truck but not great, especially when it carries a tag easily over $45,000
Get the reflash from the dealership for the gear hunting in your transmission I did it for my 17 TRD off-road and it made a world of difference. And you do realize when you're going up and down Hills the ECT button should be engaged to hold the gears longer. I currently have a 2020 TRD off road Voodoo Blue no more gear hunting
Had to Order Mine but can be found or ordered.
@@PureBlood777 they fix the gear hunting on 2020? Im jealous i got the 2019.
Bed is composite, not lined. Also, tail lights are not LED, but are standard halogen bulbs - only the headlights and DRLs are LED (standard on Pro, optional on other trims).
2:54 "U can see that it is slow low..very very slow lowering" 😂
Eduardo M 🤷♂️
jajajajajajajajaja! he said...what he say? it was cool.
I got a 18 Tacoma Trd sr5 and am 6 ft tall 250 lbs.
I got no issues with inside. It’s no Silverado large or f150 large. But I can fit in it just fine.
This video made me choose not only Tacoma but a black pro... Thanx!
In 10 years of off-roading and rock crawling I have never seen a new Toyota out there. Old patrols and other older vehicles yes but 99% of the people who buy this truck will never take it off road.
me haha
I Had a Jeep and cousin had a Toyota pickup. Seen that 4 banger truck pull 4x4’s left and right, but then this is back in ‘93... Can’t wait till Sept gets here though...
I just bought a 2020 TRD Pro with 17k miles. It’s exactly like this one featured. Love it already.
How much did you pay
I recognize that dealer! That’s lhm Toyota next to lhm Lexus! I just bought my highlander hybrid there last month 😁
Good review, I'd love someone doing a small truck review to throw an 8x4 sheet in the back and see how it handles it.
It's always sunny in Philadelphia looking man. Thanks for the review though big brother
I think the color on the lug nuts is just a paint marker signifying they were torqued
Absolutely right lol...my TRD Pro had that crap _all over_ the truck when I bought it
Everyone saying it’s too small, outdated and over priced get out of here it’s a “MIDSIZE” off-road “TRUCK” it’s reliable it out preforms all other trucks in its class everyone talking about the raptor that’s a completely different class you have to compare the raptor with the rebel. The interior is nice but that’s about it if you want something fancy with better seats better stereo and all the bells and whistles go buy a BMW or Mercedes SUV the TRD PRO is the best trim level and the best off-road Tacoma Toyota offers it’s gonna be expensive quit complaining I’m 6” and i fit just fine in my TRD pro love everything about it.
Yingling complainers are babies who will never be able to afford one 😂
Literally everything you described about this truck was underwhelming. Serious overhaul is needed here. I just bought a Ram Rebel for far less, and everything about it is exciting!
Far less? Rebels START at like 45k. In 5 years that tacoma will be worth 35k-40k regardless of miles. Your truck will be about 30k if your lucky. Fiat can't match the quality either. I personally love the look of the new Ram but I would buy the Tacoma instead.
jwolveee you bought a ram. Lol. You can put all the bells and whistles you want on something, but it’s still going to be a turd. That nice interior will be falling apart in 5 years.
jwolveee Take a pig clean it up dress it up put a little cologne on it at the end of the day it’s still a pig LOL good luck with the Ram !
@@seabass22 Well that "turd" just won truck of the year... again! Lol But I'm sure you know more than the experts. Lol 😆
jwolveee yeah, pretty sure I do. They don’t do reviews on vehicles after they are 5 years old. A vehicle isn’t a phone. You don’t toss it after a couple years. Go ahead and get you one. You’ll be trying to trade it in a few years and won’t get shit for it. I see them used, only a couple years old, and barely over 20k on a car lot.
سياره حلو وقويه بكل أسف ماتصل لدينا في السعوديه
انا مااعرف انجليزي حسيت انه يشرح شرح وافي 👏👏👏
The lug nuts colors are just marks to show that they were torqued correctly, the colors come off when washed.
Does Tacoma get inside foamed against rust?
Where’s the FLIR camera system?
Still have rear drum brakes?
How much for toyota Tacoma 2012 white color?
“Multi-color lug nuts from the factory” no man... those are color coding from the factory to make sure lug nuts have been through their torque sequence...
What is the difference between a TRD and SX?
The FOX Suspension underneath is the best you can buy that why this Truck is expensive! The ride quality is great ON and OFF road!! So if you want a great ride get this model the TRD Sport and TRD don't ride as well and can bounce over potholes! This suspension smooths everything!!
What’s the sticker price on this?
I test drove a 2020 cement color. Felt really under powered and felt small inside and im not a big dude
In 5 years the TRD pro......it will worth more money
Luis Bolanos me
And all the other trucks won't be
Lol and the Jeep in the scrap yard
love the trd pro taco, but the only thing stopping me from buying is the back seat space, I literally am squeezed in it.
I love my 2010 tacoma v6 and will stick with it. I still think the 2nd gen has a superior engine and transmission. unfortunately nowadays new vehicles are like taking on a mortgage payment for most people
Just passed 300k on my 2010, runs like New, beauty of a machine 👌
Sold my 09 taco about 6 months ago, with 346k miles. Still ran like a champ even when I took long road trips with it! Great truck iverall
The new 3.5 burns oil when you go up a steep incline offroad unfortunately. Definitely glad I went with my 2015.
The moment that shitty gladiator rolls out of the dealership it loses 10k meanwhile the taco laughs at its poor build quality!
False! Wranglers retain value as much as Tacomas, and Gladiators will too, and before you comment some stupid shit again, I own a Tacoma
@@RagingBad liar...
J. RAMIREZ haha absolutely true, way better Tacoma’s :)
Liar
Ben, it’s a composite bed, not a liner. The bed in my ‘10 still looks new.
USA automotive prices are the next big bubble! They’re absurd
You re so gay
Ike N 14 actually
Yes they are. But i guess they all are now. I looked at a Tacoma yesterday and it didnt have all the extras this one does and it was $42,999. Thats high as shit to me for a midsize truck.
Right! We Americans dont mind, we are a bunch of idiots.
The difference the gladiator has also is it is a convertible soft top or hard top, doors come off easy and windshield folds down. A true open air experience in my book.
Keep went crazy on their price!! Two door Rubicon for 55K!!!
Beautiful truck
Just ordered this exact model but in manual, it was a tough choice, the manual version loses quite a few tech features: remote start, push-button start, crawl mode, terrain select. But driving standard is just so much more fun! Can't wait to get it !
Great video. And love the new headlights but Just wanted to let you know that the taillights arent full LED. . Keep that in mind
They Really need to make more than just a couple single cabs again.
Dealer is full of 2020 xp version in all trims
Great review! Nice, Keep it up.
Thank you!
Front end resembles a 4th gen 4Runner, which is a good thing
It's a nice truck but its kinda hard to do an oil change. Why Toyota moved the oil filter underneath the skid plate? That sucks TOYOTA!!
How much does these go for
How much is the black truck
Straight from the stradman
☹️
Real quick. I work for Toyota. Those are not multi colored lug nuts. That is paint that strip off with an impact drill. It indicates whether or not the car has been tampered with in any way out of the factory. They are not just colored that way😂
☹️😱
@@BenHardyCars although multi colored lug nuts would be pretty dope.
Impact drill......please don’t touch my lug nuts with your drill.
The remote start, is that part of “remote access” and after one year free trial you have to pay to use it with your app and with your key fob?
How much????? Sticker price please..
Thanks for adding the Arabic language to the translation .. Please add the Arabic language translation to the rest of the videos .. I like your reviews
Damn I wanted this in white
Seeing people saying they cant fit in a tacoma is pretty funny for some reason
AK Smasher I’m 6’2 and am not comfortable at all with my knees hitting the steering wheel. Even on the 2020 power seats.
@@PulsingBanana you're a 5'9 twerp.
The fact the seat height cant go that low is just inexcusable. I’m 6’3” and don’t fit comfortably in this truck.
Idk why you can’t believe people don’t fit? There’s no adjustment. Try being my height and drive one. It’s obviously doable, just not ideal.
I'm 5'11 but I got rid of my 2019 tacoma because I'm wide and there wasnt enough space...loved the truck though but it felt like it was always reaching for a gear, hopfeully when I get the tundra next year it doesnt make the same noise but louder lol
jake davis get outta here. Im 6’2” @ 220 lbs and no problems here. That is the truth.
I’m looking for that exact Tacoma why aren’t they available in South Carolina???
Dealerships are selling out
To fit 35s gonna need a lift but lift kits are cheap cause everyone lifts them and stuff for overlanding
Taillights aren't LED, needles don't make a sweep on start-up.
BEST MIDSIZE TRUCK EVER!!!!!
I test drove a Toyota Tacoma but the main thing I did not like was the under power V6 along with the shity 6-speed transmission that couldn't make up its mind what gear it wanted to go in. Went with a Nissan Frontier instead because that 5-speed transmission with that 4.9L V6 is matched perfectly.
Badass TRD PRO all around...
Now I come from a long line of Toyota loyalists. Counting them all in my close family, we've had 12-13 Toyotas in my lifetime, everything from the Camry to a Sienna. Just recently got a Glad Rubi and let me tell you it took a long time deciding. When it came down to it, the deciding factor for me was that the Rubicon already a solid front axle and locker in the front and you can take off the top and doors. Is that worth the extra $10k? You decide.
Don't be fooled about buying the Pro, the 2017 - 2020 Tacoma off roads ALL work the same way. Of course they added more to the 2020 but it still runs exactly the same. Not much different from each other
This is true, a loaded off road has almost the identical features as a pro inside. Although it’s not exactly the same it is close. The outside has some cosmetic differences. I priced them both out and the off-road is definitely the better deal. I wanted to add oem parts to make mine look similar to a pro so by the time it would have been said and done it only made sense for me to get the pro but the off-road is very similar.
You don't get the fox suspension
Tim this is also true
JUNIOR Seutafili you’re right amigo ! :)
The main reason I bought the pro is for army green. I make shit tons of money so whatever.
I feel for what you get, it should be low 40k range. Interior looks on the older side, no bed lighting, gauges are on the boring side, small backseat area. Just my overall opinion. On the bright side I love the rim and tire setup, this black color makes it look mean!! Leather trim and trd pro decals are a nice touch as well.
Damn I want this exact one‼️💯👀
Nice truck, but rear drum brakes are a deal breaker for me.
I love tahoma!
Is a 2003 chevy silverado z71 40000$ less truck than the TRD PRO.
The stock tacoma tire size including the trd pro 265 tires. Not 275.
Show me the resale value on it in 10 years compared to the Jeep...if the Jeep is even still running
“Market adjustment” aka as dealer tax for suckers.
My next buy.
Correction: that isn’t a cargo light, that’s a jellyfish launcher, lmfao. Only 5 minutes in and I’m liking the video!
Decent trucks. But the drivetrain and mpg, as well as the lack of room inside. All killers for me.
Unknown Name Unknown Number yeah but it’d last 3-5 years longer than anything else, most likely longer than that
And no ventilated seats
Put some gas in that thing man, lol. I try to never let gas get below quarter tank. Never know when you are going to be in a situation plus more importantly the gas is what keeps the fuel pump cool and from wearing out prematurely.
Heated steering wheel?
No
anybody else get a crappy ford commercial about their special ranger baby being better than a TACO! please
It is in basically every way, the only question would be relaibility.
Rangers are not all bad, ford made a mistake to put a 4 banger engine in it rather then a 6, if they would had I would had bought one.
@@MartyCanter everyone says the same thing until you realize that the 4 banger is better than a v6, it's the same engine as the mustang Eco boost, but tuned differently. It has way more torque, can tow more, better mpg, more safety features ect...for way less money.
Not to mention a really good 10 speed.
@@juliusp8269 eco boost is a gimmick, reality is a 4 cylinders in cars are aok being cars are light but not in trucks, trucks are heavier & people haul things & pull things therefore putting much more load on the 4 cylinders making them work much harder then a 6 cylinder its all logical sense & bottom line is any 6 in a truck will outlast a 4 in truck its all due to the weight of a truck.
Bo
hello brother how much?
I’m trading my 19 raptor 802a for one of these. Reliability over everything. Wish I never traded my six year old tundra for a Raptor.
4 runner or Tacoma. Can’t decide.
I only buy the pro if I know I'm gonna keep it stock for life
