i think it would be nice if they could integrate the radar cruise control into the steering wheel buttons like they did on the 2020 corolla. that little separate lever on itself looks tacky and it’s 2005 technology
How would you compare this to the ridgeline? I’ve been going between the two for months; I know the ridgeline is much better on road, while the Tacoma is much better off road, but I also like how the taco looks way more over the ridgeline. Does the Tacoma really drive that much worse on road then the ridgeline? I’m actually coming from a tundra lol
Tacoma drives nice also on the road. However its much smaller than the Tundra so you will have to get used to that. The Ridgeline's size is like between a Tacoma and full size truck. Ridgeline is better in every way for daily driving, better MPG, awd, more space, more comfort, trunk in the bed...but Taco is definitely better looking, better off road and has a lot more aftermarket parts. So you will have to decide which one is right for you :).

Good review except that I felt you often forgot that you’re driving a truck and not a sports car. Steering wheels on trucks and jeeps usually aren’t so responsive like a sports car. I imagine that’s for off roaring purposes? Also for a truck it does great on gas. Usually you’re gonna sacrifice power if you make it more fuel friendly. So in my opinion that’s not a con.
Raul, people just accept the norm as if that is how it has to be. Based on your comment "I imagine thats for off road purposes" is exactly that. No it's just that manufacturers didn't put effect into them. Take a look at the Ram 1500 vs all other full-size trucks out there. The cabin is light years better and that's because FCA wanted to improve. Now everyone is playing catch up. It'll be the same with midsize trucks too.
I’ve never owned anything but Fords and Chevys. Never had a foreign anything. But I really like the Army Green Tacoma!! My only complaint is the gas mileage is the same if not worse than my Ford V8. My 5.0 gets 22mpg on the highway. I don’t understand why these little v6s can’t do better. It defeats the purpose of buying a smaller truck. Of course the Ranger and Colorado don’t do any better. They too don’t do any better than their full size brothers. And then there’s cost. Same price as full size trucks with no gas mileage advantage. I guess I’ll keep driving the F150 until they can make a midsize that actually makes it worth downsizing. Of course for people who don’t care about that it’s a awesome truck! I’d love to have one I just can’t justify the trade in loss Another way of looking at it....are the v6s really that bad for gas mileage or is the V8s just getting that good?? V8 has come a long way especially the 5.0 Coyote Ford. If you told me a ford crew cab 4x4 would get 22-22.5mpg highway I never would have believed it. But I do it all the time 👍🏼 The Toyota Tundra gets poor mpg with their V8 but it’s using a very old design. It’s basically a 5.7 Chevy engine sold to Toyota in 1998. Tacoma is certainly a improvement over the Tundra in context of efficiency

guy proulx Yes, I agree, Ford & CHEVY have theTaco beat in most every category...for the same price or better...but full sized. If you wanted to put 20k into the Taco, you would still be underpowered. Toyota is stubborn to dump the drum brakes & not offering diesel, tech for rear seating etc or better motor. I could buy whatever whenever but keep my trucks for a long time, currently Avalanche with 350,000 miles and going strong. And, I know you were‘t being serious. ...but the Taco is NOT without problems...for $50k & needs aftermarket improvements, for me anyway.

guy proulx responding to the op’s comment. If he wants something with better gas mileage etc get a ridgeline but don’t plan on going off roading with it.
Please don't buy a trd pro if you don't have money. If you sell your rare car 3,000 miles or 4,000 miles, you can't buy a new car. If you get in a used car, it'll be so annoying. Hey, how annoying would it be if you put a scratch of the built-in in the car?I feel like shit.
C Man, calm down dude! I have a Tacoma and I just wanted them to make it change to be better! Why do you think Toyota decided to put power seats on all 2020 Tacoma models? It’s because we loyal customers voice our opinions and they heard us.. I don’t get you! Do you ever have a Tacoma?
@@Flyingaceful Toyota say that with drum brakes when going off roads while dirt/mud will get on the disc rotors and will have higher chance to corrode.

For daily driving yes for sure but doesnt look anywhere as good nor have it's off road capabilities. Cant toe as much either. Just depends on what your looking for. :)
Honda ridgeline, lol..
Ha Honda??....pff..fuck that I'd rather have a Tacoma trd pro not an ugly ass ridgeline...plus ridgeline can barely tow its shadow...😅😅😅😅😅
Oh you mean an accord with a bed
Cheap ass
He said no locking rear diff on a tundra wow stop watching after that
278 horses is enough
Yeah, 3.5 liter and less power that's why I don't buy one, unless they put back the 4.0..
It has 42 Horsepower more than the previous 4.0 Tacoma.
And it still has drum brakes on the rear, that’s the proof that Toyota does all the same only changing the style. 👎🏻
Because it a truck
You ever heard of, “don’t fix what’s not broken” ?
@@RCGJR_ Right, automakers should bring back vehicles with technologies from the 90's and sell it at a premium price because it's not broken, so there's no reason to fix it.
Hybrids Vader you completely missed the point..
@@RCGJR_ Oh no, I didn't completely miss your point. That excuse is just getting old.
Slow, underpowered, poor gas mileage for a little truck, over priced, middle of the road goodies, why do I want one still? Oh, those same horrible in wet drum brakes just like my 1984 Extra cab 4x4 had...OK, maybe that’s why I stayed away for this long.
guy proulx Yes, I agree, Ford & CHEVY have theTaco beat in most every category...for the same price or better...but full sized.
@guy proulx Wont need an engine rebuild, but the body/frame sure as hell barely lasts past 100k.
@guy proulx One vehicle doesn't prove anything. You saying corvettes are as reliable as Toyotas? One hit 773k miles, so by that logic, it's as reliable as a tundra.
Buy a ridgeline I’ll come pull ya out
guy proulx responding to the op’s comment. If he wants something with better gas mileage etc get a ridgeline but don’t plan on going off roading with it.
Still don’t like the hood scoop ! Ruins the look of the truck
Your not 5"10😂
Are you so insecure about your manhood that you have to question other people's height? Lol
@@DriversOnly No, I have a sense of humor, it's a joke.
@@DriversOnly sounds like you're insecure? Lmao, shorty.
Thats not sense of humor...you're just a clown 🤡
Trump 2020!
In prison!
In prison
Please don't buy a trd pro if you don't have money. If you sell your rare car 3,000 miles or 4,000 miles, you can't buy a new car. If you get in a used car, it'll be so annoying. Hey, how annoying would it be if you put a scratch of the built-in in the car?I feel like shit.
Still using drum breaks in year 2020??!! 👎 Booo!
2020 that will be on the road in 2040 easy Boo on you
C Man, calm down dude!
Push button!!! 😡👎 Relay theft. Too bad they have that to stay. Dam pretty boys go drive a Miata
Manual Transmission still uses a Key.
No diesel, no care..
Myron Gaines then why click dumbass
Lol, you and 3 others
Good thing fake snorkel is gone.
Its an optional feature.
Oh shitty IL ruins the truck!!!!
Don’t try and pull a small Rv, “Rpod”, unless you like to rev the hell out of the engine everywhere you go, 4Runners are way underpowered for their size and weight, and with a 5 speed transmission they are all ways hunting for the right gear. I’ve own an FJ and a 4Runner TRD PRO, until Toyota offers a V8 350 HP as an option I’ve owned my last Toyota. If the new ford bronco offers a 3.5 twin turbo that’s what I’m buying. 4runners are under powered, under geared, over priced, and over rated. Sorry Toyota you guys have lived off your laurels for too long, update or get out of the way, Ford Bronco is going to eat your lunch.
I agree with a lot of what you've said. I test drove one a few months ago and it just felt so underpowered. I really wish they offered the supercharger again
