The 60s and early 70s then we got disco and a lot of commercial crap

@@stephencopping9953 I liked the disco too.
It (disco) wasn’t the only music available (at the time). There was still the other music that we love from the 70s (those of us who were there!)!
For some reason, ppl who hated disco, at the time, were bothered that it existed, instead of just focusing on the music (still being made) that wasn’t disco. 💃

Back in the day before they started eliminating music education programs from public schools. Back in the day before certain people fled neighborhoods where the schools were integrating and took their tax dollars elsewhere…and voted to DE-FUND those schools the left behind. Fortunately, there are plenty of brothas and sistas playing instruments today.

@@Odawg96. That brother sure knows how to use his lips. And the group even outdid Jethro Tull. Fantastic funk. For some reason blacks in power don’t empower blacks. Oprah comes to mind. As far as school integration goes, my victimologist… When your heroes are Washington Carver and Ben Carson instead of Tupac and LaBron, come let us know, we’ll be back. 13% of the population…

The industry was full of capable, instrumentalists, so the balance shifted.
After my brother and I proved and played the funky arts, his son grew up to make big money in L.A., writing for films , commercials and artists. He then informed us that we were obsolete.

What made Brick special (in my top 20 all time) was their innovative style that NOBODY had heard before, especially, in the '70's when you had soo many HOFame R/B (rock, too!) bands that it was a pathetic! R/B bands, singing groups, soloist, etc. were soo good... we didn't realize just how good they were until later!

MUSICIANS!!!!!!!! REAL ONES! And my jam was "Ain't gone hurt nobody". Oh man, driving around with my girl in my Pinto with the roll up "moon roof" in 1977 or 78' (can't remember the year exactly), my car payment was $65😊, SIXTY FIVE DOLLARS😆. My Mom and Dad bought the car for me and I had to pay the payment (they payed the insurance), I later found out that they paid for the car and I was actually paying them directly by giving them the $65 every month, but my dad told me he needed to teach me responsibility and the ability to appreciate something that you had to pay for and take care of. I'll NEVER forget it!

@@beclairful Aren't those beautiful memories👍? Our situation is the same, and I too miss my "daddy" who left the earth in 2010. In alot of ways, we (our generation), was soooooooooooo blessed to have two parents who nurtured, taught us right from wrong, had rules we had to follow, lead by voice AND example, spanked that butt when needed, on and on and on, unlike some of these kids today. I don't know what happened to good firm parenting.

All that the world has become that human beings don’t agree with is their fault, we allow the worst or the best to be. Yes this is music, real musicians, instruments and singing but we the people allowed it to become something today not worth listening to. Everyone talks about the good ole days and allowed them to fade away into nonsense.
