We are blessed to have grown up in this era. Everything it about was sensational. Music, fashion, cars, clubs and the men looked so good. No raggedy looking scrubs trying to talk to ya. So much class compared to now. They don't know what fun is.
This is what I'm talking about the old Earth Wind & Fire the one with Maurice White and Philip Bailey at the helm in their Primes. It's enough to give you Goosebumps.
This band has influenced me since my parents introduced them to me! Verdine inspired me to start bass lessons, Maurice taught me to tap into the spiritual side of music and Phillip taught me how to groove.
I do not believe that there will be another band like EWF. I am almost 70 years old, and without going into divisive details, I can say that in the 1970’s, we all thought racial equality was in our grasp. Almost 50 years on, I am heartsick.
Youre right, this song gives me nostalgic tearfulness. Ive watched them over 13 times in the USA, Europe and South America since i was 18. Im now 65 and it still hits me with tears.
I am 64 as well. Only saw them live once. I don't think they came to Pittsburgh very often. Or I just wasn't able to go when they were. However, still the best R&B of my lifetime.
The World will always miss Maurice White, here he is in his prime, A spectacular time in Music History. Thanks for posting this video that everybody should injoy the peace and love of EWF...... Definitely a all time live performance....RIP Maurice White.. Forever Missed
I'll never forget way back when I must have been all of 17 years old back in 77 or 78. I saw these guys at the Inglewood Forum from the 12th row on the floor. To this day the best concert I've ever been to. So grateful to grow up during an era of some of the best music you'll ever hear.
Nope, they sure don't. i can name one new black band of 10 years old, not one. i really do believe that the industry controls what black people hear, because their are many local bands that are very very good like EWF.
I was born in the '70s, but I'm envious of those who were teens and adults during that time because there was so many outstanding musicians and performers. They say the golden era of hip hop was during the '90s (which was my coming of age), but I think the '70s was the golden era for RnB.
It was. The producers got cheap in the early 80s and with synthesizers and voice enhancers, they didn't have to pay big bands and real talent like EW&F.
Watching Maurice and Philip side by side gives me chills! RIP Maurice! Thank you for your protégé Philip! He has carried the rhythm and soul of the group in your place!
I was a questioning 11th grader and they completely spoke to me. I needed their joy and unapologetic optimism. We saw them in concert that year. Mind blown and heart full.
LOVE THIS MESSAGE AND SONG!!! Maurice White was truly a genius and Buddha of his time. If you've ever listened to the lyrics of this song, "That's The Way Of The World", and you agree with them, then you're a card carrying liberal/progressive and you need not be made to feel ashamed that you possess a heart of gold. This song says, "...a child is born, with a heart of gold. Way of the world makes his heart grow cold." If that's not a belief in the inherent goodness of man vs the belief that man is inherently evil or bad, nothing will convince you. Man is good...it's the conditions he has to navigate that effects his choices that often plays into his choices that we never see. Yet we still judge. Be blessed...all of you!
This song is a cure for sadness, depression, I listen to this song every day and I'm looking for a new connection that EWF used to play somewhere. Kings.
❤❤❤ When I was a little girl this music could make me help me forget the Problems of the World and keep going in a Positive feeling and I was smiling again...
No words can describe how this music affected and still affects my soul! Thank you EW&F for all the joy you brought into my life! Amazing people and musicians. Not from this world ❤️😘🫶🏻
Had the honor of going to a EW&F concert last year. Verdine White is one of the greatest bass players in history. Phil Bailey greatest pipes. It literally changed my life.
@@markginsel4238. Verdine undoubtedly knows the EWF tunes really well at this point. So, I candidly don't know if there's a recorded bass track playing at concerts (or if the keyboardists help him on synth bass). The way this whole thing apparently developed is that there are a few recorded situations where Verdine made appearances with other top bassists (of our era) at jam sessions & master classes. In multiple instances, other well known bassists were quite skillfully showing off their mastery & artistry on the bass, while Verdine was fumbling & essentially sounded like a HS level bassist. I get the impression that it prompted folks in the "bass world" to start looking at Verdine a little funny. Here's one such appearance... I was Born in the 60’s grew up in the 70’s and partied like there was no tomorrow in the 80’s!!❤🎉 Feel so blessed that God placed me exactly at the right time on earth…
Where did the 70's go?? Earth,Wind& Fire, you are the light when the music is in a slump. The IPod has a effect on the music that makes me get my groove on.I love you guys.Your music is never old school. It has been and always will be fresh.
PEACE AND BLESSINGS, SHOUT-OUT FROM SYRACUSE, UPSTATE NY ORANGE NATION. E/W&FIRE HAS & STILL WILL ALWAYS BE MY FAVORITE GROUP F/EVER. AS A YOUNG ADOLESCENT YAW, THEY CAME TO THE CUSE' AND MY MOM TOOK ME 2 THE CONCERT W/HER & LADY FRIENDS 😂😂. NEVER EVER FORGET THE JOY INSIDE OF ME. SAID I HAD A CONTACT 😊
If this isn't best thing musically that GOD ever created I don't know what is. The three elements of the universe. This song is 33 yrs old and it is just as relevant today as it was in 1981. This just set my soul free to hear these GIANTS of music do something that will NEVER be duplicated. EWF then, now and forever.
Love this song puts me to sleep every night does my partners head in,only true music lovers would understand this is what today's world needs . Maurice & the gang LEGENDS LOVE YOU & THANK YOU
My two best friends recently died. One of them a month ago, the other a year ago. One night the three of us were hanging out on a Saturday night having ourselves a good time, laughing and driving around when my friend in the passenger seat asked my friend sitting in the backseat to sing for us. My friend in the backseat could sing very well and was in a gospel group with his brothers. He sang "a change gonna come". Little did I know that he was going to end up singing it to his funeral months later and now he's gone now too. These men were literally like brothers to me and now each time I hear this beautiful song, I dedicate it to them. Junie and JD, this is for you. My brothers
World class singing, world class lyrics, and world class musicians that unfortunately, due to the way music is processed these days, this much talent will never come together again on one stage. I have a 7 year old little girl that loves this music - over 3 decades later and they are still relevant!
I never and I mean never miss an Earth Wind and fire concert when they came to Indianapolis i must have seen them at least 15 times. They could sing they all were outstanding musicians and most of all their music had meaning. The greatest group ever.
I experienced this exact concert live at the Oakland Coliseum in 1981. I was there with my best friend. Years later he was murdered and I will never forget experiencing this concert with him.
Favourite song from my favourite band. Could listen to this all day long. This band got me through my teens & i get too see them in London in 48 hours for the first time, Just wish Maurice was gonna be there, such a big part of my life! Long may they continue
What it is incredible about this supergroup is their energy, happiness and soulful music. And they transmit the same groove live. Maurice was a phenomenal artist. Sure he is singing and dancing up there.
My Fav band of all time! This is not in my top 10 songs for me by EWF. I love live music but I generally don't like live recordings this one smashes it! One of the best live recordings I can think of and that goes for any band. Just amazing I wish they jammed another 2-3 minutes at the end!
This classic 70s Soul funk track by the legendary Earth Wind and Fire The way of the world even in 2024 is a timeless masterpiece
I’m so grateful to have been raised on this music.
We are blessed to have grown up in this era. Everything it about was sensational. Music, fashion, cars, clubs and the men looked so good. No raggedy looking scrubs trying to talk to ya. So much class compared to now. They don't know what fun is.

You have spoken the TRUTH. The band is .......mmmm. Good Lord.
The greatest R&B band ever.
This band has influenced me since my parents introduced them to me! Verdine inspired me to start bass lessons, Maurice taught me to tap into the spiritual side of music and Phillip taught me how to groove.

Never, and that's good because nobody seems worthy. They don't do music like this anymore. Let's let the best remain as such
unfortunately evil people prefer to keep the racial divide, it suits their depraved agenda
Blessings to you, at 35 I’m sure that was a feeling my generation will never experience 💯
The Greatest Band Ever LL Maurice White 🦋🦋🦋
Maurice White.....words cannot describe the level of passion in his singing......
Every time I hear this song I cry because, life is great. I saw them live when I was 16 years old I'm 64 now

Earth Wind & Fire was the high-bar. They set a high standard, that no one has yet met.
No one can touch them as a group!

Verdine is undoubtedly a fabulous showman, but there's some question about whether Louis Satterfield actually performed bass on these recordings.
