- I bought an Easter egg for Easter, the Snyder ST600-C. This 3 wheeled motorcycle pretending to be a car popped up for sale and I had to pick it up. I'd never seen a Snyder before and had been looking for a Zap so this was a good compromise, not only that, it was $1,800 running and driving. Let's take a tour of this wildly quirky motorcycle car then drive it around.

In the UK they sell cars with this body style called the Chevrolet Matiz or Daewoo Matiz. Some parts from this may legitimately fit, like the wing mirrors!

I think this car is based on korean Daewoo Matiz. My parents had that car (it had 4 wheels) with 800ccm 3 pot engine back in early 2000s. It was popular in Eastern Europe at that time.
Oh no, no, no. The Daewo Matiz was a real car. This thing is crap. Zap Motors was selling an electric version of exactly the same car body. I remember watching a UA-camr who described everything that was wrong with that car when it was NEW. This car was made in many versions, imported under different names. I can't imagine anyone buying this thing.
Would this not be closer to the Cherry QQ it looks smaller than the Matiz in the interior, I might be wrong
Although I won't deny that this car's design might be inspired of the first gen Matiz. They both look kinda similar. But yeah, Matiz was a real car. The name is still very much alive but now its made by Chevrolet as Spark, Beat, Matiz, among other names.

I had the Reliant Regal van, used it to tow a race bike in the 80’s. If you get a passenger he can hang out the passenger door and it then corners like a racing sidecar unit :) Great videos JR 👍

That was my first thought: a three wheeled Matiz. Like a Matiz but even worse.

It only has three wheels, which legally makes it a motorcycle, so it is exempt from most federal automobile regulations. There are several three wheel cars on the market.
I'm Glad you got this toy from me. I wouldn't sell it to so many that wanted it as a daily driver. I had no clue on that sunglass holder... pretty neat. Enjoy!

I’ve been waiting for someone to cover these things. The 2009 wildfire that preceded it was pulled from the market because it had no emissions controls whatsoever, and still ran on a carburettor. If you look up Wildfire WF650 (I think?), you’ll see some videos about how terrible these things are.
First car I've seen on the channel where you don't need hood struts. So there's a plus.

I would say you speedometer is in kilometers an hour, as 50 kph is about 30mph.

I had a Zap Xebra that looked exactly like this Snyder - same color! The Government mandated that Zap recall all Xebras due to single circuit brakes, so they are probably very hard to find. A year after mine was repurchased by the company, I received a call asking me if I wanted it back. Apparently, someone in Albuquerque had the contract to collect them, and Zap never took them back, so they were sitting in a storage yard somewhere in town. Good luck finding one.
I have only seen one of those things about 3 years ago. Never knew anything about it and it still sits in the same spot on flat tires to this day. Glad to get a full tour of the thing and learn about it. Lol

The sunroof is not broken. Push up on the glass at the same time that you push the latch to the rear and it will stay open. Once you've done it a couple of times, you can do it with one hand.
It's broken, you can't push it back at all. I've used lots of manual sunroofs 🍻
I gotta say that dumpster fire of a car makes me want one. lol

I was actually thing a renault when you first mentioned a 3 wheeler. I saw alot of them when I was driving through France in 1992.
I worked at a golf course and drove 3-wheel Cushman motorized maintenance carts around and let me tell you that the ones with two wheels in the front are WAY more stable than the ones with the single wheel in front.
I wish some company would make somthing like the Snyder or the Wildfire as a taildragger.
If they could get the fit and finish up to let's say 80's Mexican cars I think they would have a winner.
I know it would make it more complicated and therefore expensive but I wonder if engine up front and front wheel drive is the way to go?
By it technically being a motorcycle there are so many regulations and add on crap you can do without.
Elio is going front wheel drive but they screwed the pooch by making it only one person wide.
Combine that with the fact that there are doubts the Elio will ever go into production and it is starting to look like The Dale 2.0.

I grew up in an era where yes you rolled down the windows to adjust the mirrors and guess what, no air bags. You must be real young, you wouldn't make it in the 70's or even early 80's. I don't know why you're hating so much on that poor car. It's made for city driving, not for the race track. It's kind of cute and I bet you'll get a buyer in a heart beat for it. The only negative I see about the car is it might be hard for social distancing. ;)

I totaled the electric equivalent of this car, a 2008 Zap Xebra. The seatbelts did very well. Also the driver side door glass turned out to be very strong when the car skittered away from the much heavier car that hit me and tipped on its side and spun in circles with the driver side window as the door glass was now the point of a spinning top. The thick door window glass didn't even break, just deep round gouges were cut in it. I remember watching the asphalt spin through the glass right next to my head. My just-bought groceries were flying everywhere, a plsatic bottle of grapefruit juice hit me upside the head. And then the spinning car encountered a curb about 80 feet from the wreck, which somehow tipped it back up on the wheels.. or at least the rims that had just had the rubber mostly ripped off them. I touch the accelerator, and the car actually was still working and ready to drive away, which I didn't, because apparently that's a crime. ... The whole car build quality is like a car from the dollar store- some surprisingly good, some junk, like those door handles come off in your hand if you open the door impatiently. But I survived the wreck. Normal heavy car hits lightweight car, lightweight car just bounces away, due to physics. Fun... ? Foolishly, I bought another one, which I still have and probably ought to sell. The body is basically all bondo over plain steel and rusts enthusiastically.
Also, be careful on turns, the rear end wants to skid left or right and then catch with the car now pointed at the side of the road. Terrifying the first time it happens.

I have actually seen this car in real life in my hometown, everyday I would drive by the dealership and see that exact car sitting at a same dealership. After a while the dealership closed and I never seen the car, until this day. The crazy thing is that the car looked exactly like your car.
Regarding the brake light on, it seems like there is a sensor on the master cylinder? Could that just be a bad contact. Some master cylinder have a little plunger that moves if there is a pressure loss either on the rear or front circuit.

Filipe Ferreira Well yes. If you combine the engine of one death trap into a body of another death trap you’re basically guaranteed to end up with a death trap. But it’ll be more fun. Plus you do t really have to do 100mph , just ripping to 35-40 quickly would be fun.

Does it have rear wheel anti-lock? My Geo isn't supposed to have ABS, but it has a rear differential speed sensor, and a RWAL box. It tripped my brake light as well... Or, the sensor under the hand brake is blown/corroded?

They used to sell these things right down the road from where I grew up! As a kid, I used to go and sit inside them and even got a test drive in them, I used to think they were so cool! The brand was called Wildfire back then and was based out of Ohio surprisingly enough - now it's called Snyder which is the name of the guy that owns it. The guy owns a local tire shop and he's always reselling some type of cheap Chinese knock-off junk in bulk in that place. To be honest, I doubt he ever sold a single vehicle, I only ever saw one of these driving around once.

Ah yes this vehicle returns us to our first love, most of us have started our lifetime of driving ourselves, on a three wheeler, some on a tricycle or others on a plastic big wheel. Just be careful and remember that crasing in a vehicle with a high center of gravity can cause terrible scraped knees. I just wondering if JRGo will have to add a Snyder to his list of motorcycles he likes to drive?

You guys would have SO MUCH FUN with a Kei mini-truck or Van. AND you'll have 4 wheels.
In California a 3 wheeled motorcycle can be driven with a regular drivers license. But the catch 22 is, the motorcycle has to be CARB compliant in order to register it. For me, I would drop to gas engine and throw in a forklift motor which would probably be way too much power. A control module would have to be added. No more stick shift needed. I can fix the light issues no problem. But for safety, I have to get a roll cage installed just in case I have too much fun. I want to still live.

This is a rebadged Jindalu FL600ZK, made in Dezhou, China by Shandong Jindalu Vehicle Co. Snyder Technology later reorganized as Wildfire Motors and imported a larger engined variant as the Wildfire WF650-C, while Zap Vehicles in California imported the electric version as the Zap Xebra. The company itself is actually still around, now known as Dezhou Fulu Vehicle Co.and this particular model is still in production. The body shell comes from the Chery QQ, a famously unlicensed clone of the Daewoo Matiz/Chevrolet Spark. The center headlight was added to comply with regulations in some US states, which mandate a central headlight for motorcycles, regardless of how many other lights may be on the front.

Regarding the coolant temperature, it won't normally boil at a 100c in a car engine, because the cooling system is under pressure.
You'll most likely see it boiling at around 110-120c instead. Normal operating temperature for a cooling system is around 90c.
This is also why you should never open the cooling system in a car when it's hot, because it might actually start boiling due to loss of pressure, and you'll get splashed with coolant ;)
Did you buy that near the Springfield area in Missouri? Theres one in my town and it's gone. Same color and it looks exactly the same.
