It is a chinese copy of the Daewoo matiz, called Chery QQ or IQ but with 3 wheels, RWD and rear engine. A realy bad idea. In China many car makers sales the body and you can do whatever you want. Even some makers put electric engines and lead acid batteries.

    • @simonhusseymusic
      @simonhusseymusic 4 роки тому +17

The Daewoo Matiz was so much better in car form than this crap quality Chinese rip off. For the size they handled ok and had great economy and easy to drive and plenty going around here in Australia. The build quality of that thing no way compares to the Matiz that it was totally stolen from. Great video and been loving it.

Maybe, but the thing where this differs from a Reliant Robin for example, is the engine placement, that one had the engine in the front. This one with the engine on top of the rear wheels makes it more stable... Not flip proof, but harder to flip. And case in point, the way he pulled the short turning radius at a good speed, something the Reliant couldn't do.... at all.... for the sake of our entertainment. :D

As a large part of the Snyder seems to be based on the Daewoo/ Chevrolet Matiz which we had in the UK. Bar the indicator stalk, which looks a bit unique I think some parts might be interchangeable with the Snyder. It might be worth a look. Love the vids. Stay safe.

Lots of people bringing up the Daewoo Matiz, if it was that simple, JohnRoss wouldn't have any issues.. This isn't a Matiz. Most of the body is shared with the Chery QQ, which is a very close clone of the Matiz, but not all parts are interchangeable. Also, the QQ is front engine, FWD, either 3 cylinder or 4, this is rear engine, RWD, with a 2-cylinder motorcycle engine. Mechanically, they have nothing in common. The interior is completely different, as well.

Careful decisions regarding centre of gravity placement can make these vehicles many times safer than you would think possible. @@mexicanspec I'm American, and I have to disagree in some respects as the maker community, and retro game/computer/electronics communities keep growing, and with the current economy/pandemic, I think more people will start looking at fixing more stuff on their own, as DIY as a whole has been on the rise.

It needs training wheels on the front. They could possibly prevent a rollover! 8-) WatchJRGo, you give up too easy! Take that light switch off the stalk, reverse engineer it, possibly improve the design, and you have lights again! Once you do that, then you can tackle the actual lights. Since you only have one real headlight, the motorcycle one in the center, you should see if you can fix it to aim correctly.
Who am I kidding? Ship the Snyder off to Darren aka Mustie1 (on UA-cam) in New Hampshire. He'd love it! Fixing that kind of stuff is right up his alley. The only problem might be getting it back from him once fixed!

I know that the city of Santa Monica out here in LA used the electric version (which was a truck), called the Zap Xebra. I know you were interested in getting one of those, so if you want to get one from Cali, I'm sure there are tons of them lying around!

I would think think the turn signal stalk was sourced the existing parts bin of an existing automotive brand. Can't imagine Snyder made a stalk from scratch being they could source a stalk from so many existing manufacturers.

Change over the lighting other than the turn signals with LEDS, use a rocker switch , reroute the headlight wires and sell it before it detonates...

That headlight switch was widely used in 90's & early 2000's suzuki cars. Search for suzuki turn signal and headlight switch.

    What happened at O'Reilly's
Really does this car have much value as a car it'd be cool as a modified vehicle.
    Ultimate Soowmobile
Replace the tiny engine in the back with Two Hi-Output Snowmobile Engines with twin tracks, a ski in the front and a complete EXO cage to protect the body and passengers and Yes keep it a 4 seater.
This would be the perfect platform.

I suspect you'll be able to get parts by looking at a more recently made version of this wee beastie.
Just a quick search on youtube for this car brought up "Yuki Motor Pickup 600cc Truck", these things must exist with a whole bunch of names and body styles, also that Yuki Motor has a classy interior compared to this, lol. Could be an entertaining rabbit hole to go down.

The headlights are from a daewoo matiz and the rear ones are familiar as well... So I guess other parts are from other cars, so it's a matter of finding which ones! I'm sure everything that is broken, can be found in some dealer- I don't think they have designed almost any component of the car XD

I would love a car like this, I'm always messing with things. Replace the stalk with a bunch more switches, mod the body to fit some better lights, not sure what you could do about the shifter but a stronger engine would be no problem, retrofit a real gas door.

Hey WatchJRGO, I was looking for a similar car to yours and I found out that there is a car company that uses similar parts to your car. The company is called Yuki. Unfortunately its an Asian company and it may be hard to deliver the parts, but many you can find them via Internet and buy parts directly from them; or just search second hand parts for a Yuki. Maybe you'll have a little bit of luck👋👋
