Maybe my favorite on this album. Andy's neoclassical solo in it is absolutely amazing!

The best way to listen to this is to hear the entire album at the same time. Great follow up to Them, and great review!

Without nay search for it, King Diamond turned up as something that may interest me, a couple of weeks ago. I played it, and was blown side ways. It was a live show. Don't know where or when, or even which songs I saw, but the quality was so pure in vision and sound. When that was done, another one showed up. This time a band called Merciful Fete. Then it all clicked into place. The singer, I knew he was more familiar. He fronted both bands, and even though I have ne history with Merciful Fete, I sure recognised the ace and make up from album covers of years ago.
    With that out the way.
Another chapter of madness that adds another corridor to this maze of darkness. The plot now taking a more solid form, carried by amazing music. Music that has so many turns of it's own, that can escort, or even drag us through all kinds of imagines scenarios. But the finishing smoothness to it is a relief following the journey to reach the end. Two differing "trips" come to mind. One of a lang adventure in a tall ship, starting out in the calm waters of an enclosed harbour, and travelling through heavy storms with hard rain, and lightning ripping through the blackness of the dead of night. Pockets of calm surrounded us, giving false security as soon after the storm raged on again until, by clever navigation, the tiller guiled the lumbering vessel into another safe harbour.
the other, a more predictable rollacoater ride, but in the pitch dark of night. Again starting with the ease of calmness, then come the ruff nasty bits. and ending with a calm gentle slow to stop.
The lyrics didn't tell much really, only that now there is a bargain with the demons. Not something to do at home.
Excellent Randi, I enjoy you enjoying this bands out put. Take care sweet lady. TTFN

Yeah, making any type of deal with "THEM" is probably never going to end up being a fun time, lol. This story will become clearer over the next few songs, and the journey is unnerving to say the least!
The fact that King sounds amazing live (whether with Merciful Fate or in King Diamond) still blows my mind sometimes. The jumps he makes are almost always at least an octave, and sometimes 2 octaves or even more. Even with all that, he never sounds like he goes flat or sharp, so that's just crazy to me. I used to sing in concert choir and in chamber singers back in my high school and college days (way back when, lol), and while there were parts in some songs where my part (I was a bass in chamber singers and a baritone in choir) would cover a decent range... There is no way I could even attempt half of what King does without any sign of difficulty. Heck, if I tried it now, I know my voice would crack every time I tried to hit a remotely high note, lol!!
Take care my friend, and as Randi mentions... Hope the twins and their parents are doing great!!

According to the 2020 reissue album, the solo at @3:07 is played by Andy and Pete. I am the creator of this lyric video and so any possible mistakes are mine. Pete Blakk is no longer in the line-up and the mentioned solo part is played live by Mike Wead. For example, with the excellent live recording "Songs for the Dead Live”, you can see both Mike's and Andy's solos well.
P.S. For your information, all songs on the album have Russian subtitles.

As the person that has recommended all her King Diamond reactions, I just want to take a moment to thank you for putting together all the great lyric videos! The story behind these albums are as impactful as the music, so knowing that she will be able to catch all the lyrics is important. The time you've spent putting these together is very much appreciated!!

@@chasestreet8082 Thank you very much, I really appreciate it. True, making lyric videos takes time, but for the love of King Diamond’s and Mercyful Fate's music, I strive to make lyric videos for everything they release. Getting inside the stories is indeed a big part of the experience in addition to the music. Thank you for all your King Diamond recommendations to Randi so far. I hope that her journey will continue for a long time with many great albums…

Still just really happy that you're continuing to enjoy your King Diamond journey! Sleepless Nights is probably the "prettiest" song they have off the top of my head. So, King has made an eternal deal to be able to see his sister Missy again. You know I won't give the story away, but I feel like you know making a deal with "THEM" probably isn't the best idea, lol.
All I will say is that there is a reason this album is called "Conspiracy." I look forward to you hearing more of the story as we go along. This album is... Well, its creepy on a different level than the "Abigail" album, or even the "Them" album that led into this album. I look forward to sharing the rest with you! Thanks for another great analysis and reaction, Randi!! Take care and have a great week!
