Longplay of game Rocket Knight Adventures, a side scrolling platformer produced and released in 1993 by Konami for the Mega Drive/Genesis console.
The story unfolds in Elhorn world, a world of warriors, magic and technology, inhabited by several species of intelligent animals. In the kingdom of Elhorn there Zebulos, home of opossums.
Zebulos is a kingdom with a long history. Their first king was El Zebulos. Now it is difficult to separate the ancient legends and myths from the facts. The prevailing belief is that El Zebulos was a brave hero who fought against a great evil coming from a powerful ship called the Pig Star. After defeating the invaders, El Zebulos became the king of the peaceful land and the Pig Star was sealed by a spell to get away from enemy hands. The key to removing the seal is a secret guarded by Zebulos and your family.
From generation to generation, Zebulos family kept the key . An elite fighting force was formed : the powerful Rocket Knights . These armored warriors used rockets and mystical swords and excellent fighting skills to protect and serve the kingdom. The current leader of the Rocket Knight, Sparkster, is a the hero of the game. The group was betrayed by Axel Gear, one renegade Rocket Knight, which has since become the enemy of Zebulos .
The kingdom was recently attacked by Devotindos Empire , a hostile realm populated by pigs and ruled by Emperor Devligus Devotindos. The Emperor Devligus teamed with Axel Gear, and is about to capture the daughter of the current king, a princess named Sherry, who is believed to be the key to reactivate the Pig Star. Overwhelmed by the attack of the robots exécito pigs, Zebulan forces are nearly wiped out. Now all hope is Sparkster, which heads to the Castle Zebulos to fight the empire and his enemy Axel Gear and rescue the princess. Played on Crazy Hard level with core and accuracy emulator improvements (Genplus GX core provided by Bizhawk).

And to think the first time I played it was in 1995, when I was only 9 years old! Easily one of my all-time favorite Mega Drive games.
Noticed how Sparksters looks cheerful in this game and becomes more serious in the sequel?

The Future
There ins't going to be a future if Sparkster doesn't rescue the Princess from Axel Gear's threat before the Key 🗝is recorded and the Pig Star is reactivated.
Is not only the main character, it's about all around him, the beginning of each level is a band playing harmoniously, both the king and the princess help and without stopping smiling...
A great platform game for the Megadrive/Genesis. Konami did his best with this game.

It isn't underrated at all, it gets plenty of praise, it isn't like Alisia Dragoon, a game that is truly underrated. After all, this is Konami's best Genesis showing
I got it on sale in Toys'rus, so, at that time it was underrated indeed.
1:25-1:52 I had the Genesis version of Rocket Knight Adventures as a kid. Let me just say that the introduction in this Mega Drive version is MUCH better! The US version just has Sparkster standing on a cliff in a storm with his sword drawn and staring at Devilgus Devotindus, followed by static images of Sparkster for the stage numbers.
I honestly prefer the NTSC intro.
That was just the Japanese version. The Europe/Oceania version had the Mega Drive name and had the cliff intro.
@@camulodunon Yeah. The Japanese intro is more story-focused but the American intro showcases more impressive 3D graphics.

I always loved how AS SOON as you enter the Fortress stage there is a 1up right there. They are like "Here you'll need it." While mocking me and judging my skills at this game. >_

You can tell the Treasure team made this game based solely on the robots, vertical shoot em' up segments, and boss designs.

Either the player is pulling some sneaky stuff, or this game has a LOT of exploitable invincibility frames.

Math Helper you are invinsible while using rocket moves.
Some of the bosses don't even have contact damage unless they do an attack.

Oh Konami, you and your Crazy Hard difficulties that you need to clear for the TRUE ending. Happened with many of their games around this time.
Funny thing is I beat it on crazy hard when I was little. I have NEVER been able to do it since. I guess since I did not have many Sega games and I played this game for HOURS a day during the summer.

That use to be one if my top favorite games in SEGA. When I played it, it was absolutely amazing. It was in 1994, 1996 or 1997. I was in love with it. However, I was hooked on it. Because I didn't stop until I plan to beat the whole game from the beginning to the end. Until now, it's back and finally returned the favor. My childhood favor that is. It refresh my memory. I haven't forgotten about it. 100% A+ 🌟🏅🖒😁

Ehh I wouldn't call the Genesis the King of Consoles, the NES, SNES, and PS2 pretty much are in that bloodline. Hell even the Saturn gets its shoes shined by the Genesis.

i don't understand it. why you have so many difficulties to choose? i have only 2, easy and hard. then i watched another guy on youtube. he had my ones + normal + children. and now you have even 2 more again. very hard + crazy hard. i played this as a rom on my pc and there were just these 2 difficulties for me as i said. but we also have a real sega and the real game. and i can't remember how it was there excactly but it's different everytime on every player. anyone please help me!
That final boss is impossible. I don't know how anyone was ever expected to beat it with limited continues.

DarkOmegaMK2 Seconded, the controls and main mechanic are nothing like Mega Man, it doesn't have the stage select/weapon stealing/etc, and overall doesn't play anything like it.
Not sure where zombies come in.
