I guarantee that this game would have been more popular if it wasn't so hard. Konami jacked up the difficulty to avoid one and done day rentals and to prevent sales loss. But I'm willing to bet more people would have bought this game if it wasn't so frustrating.
I'd like to add that im very grateful for your channel. It's packed a lot of nostalgia and conclusions to games i never beat. In a way it helps us recollect a lot of our childhoods before adulthood kicked in. So pass on my thanks and thanks to everyone involved in the channel.

THIS IS GOLD. I LOVE THIS GAME. I play this alot on my CFW PS3. IDK wassup with them 2 ppl this disliked the video, they probably mad they couldn't beat it lol. I gotta say this game looks like a blast to play. The beginning of stage 3 where you had to use the reflection of the red liquid in order to see the next platform was a really cool idea. I think this game would have translated allot better to 3D than Sanic did.
I could never come close to beating this game but I did watch my older brother do it. Such a great game. I don't personally know anyone else besides me and him who has played it. So underrated!

I was just playing it and noticed you usually get a 1 UP to find right after a checkpoint. Not always though! But makes certain parts essentially have "unlimited" tries. Popped into this video to see how far I've gotten. I'm certainly not going to finish it in 53 minutes... pretty sure I spent that much time to get to the end of stage 2.
Man I so miss this game. Use to play it after school on my mega drive back in the days. Yes the game was hard and you needed to have a quick reaction time to these bosses. I was able to complete i after god knows how many runs. I only wish someone can pick this up and remaster it.
I'll never understand why sonic got famous and this game dissapeared. I loved this game as a kid, though I had to get a GameShark thing to ever beat it (this game is battletoads hard). The third level boss fight was a decade ahead of it's time, more epic than symphony of the night or metroid boss fights, and no one has heard of this franchise. It was too hard for anyone to play when I was a kid, I loved the art, but I think if this had been an approachable title it would have been sonic.

That's false, sega doesn't own rocket knight adventures and they couldn't make sparkster their new mascot because for 1 konami is the one who owns sparkster/rocket knight and 2. at the time of 1993 sonic was too popular to let go/replace. Why would sega want a replacement mascot when sonic already replaced alex kidd who nobody cared about?

Im excited for the collection to release. But I wasn't fond of the Xbox Version though... If Konami makes another sequel, i like it to be a 16-bit game. Just like they did for Sonic Mania. New Enemies: would be Turtles or Rabbits, if it's another sequel or sequels

Konami's attempt of a kind of Sonic character. Overall a good platformer and a nice addition to the Genesis library.
Rocket Knight is a parody of all Konami games, not juste a try to make a Sonic like character.
Or this game just trying to be like a collaboration between sonic, mega man and castlevania!

I had the PAL version of this, the difficulty seen here (1 life, no continues, one hit kill) was not called simply "Hard" it was called "Crazy Hard".
