I started playing GT4 for the first time in my life 4 days before the mod dropped. I would have changed to play Spec II but I didn’t quite like the fact that they changed the prize cars. I played for a couple of hours and really loved the new engine sounds, that was the highlight for me, and also that some event now require only 3 races instead of 5 to be completed. Most of the content is actually really good, it was just the fact that the prizes are different that made me return to my NTSC save. I wish there was an only sounds mod, maybe some day. But rest to be assured author will get to it when they are ready. I am loving the mod so far. It may have some flaws with balancing issues but i dont blame author he put lot of work for many years and lot of effort into trying to make sure it is ready to be seen.
I don't remember saying this to anyone? The new events are at a level of balance I'm happy with - the JGTC 300 and 500 events had an issue where the AI kept running off track but this has been fixed. Base game events have only been changed where a major change was necessary (e.g. moving the Gillet Vertigo to a lower tier race now that its power is more realistic), otherwise I'm aware that people will expect GT4's events to largely be the same. Everything else is just the nature of GT4's AI and can't really/won't be changed
I have never played GT4 like as seriously in a playthrough, just arcade mode in PCSX2 because I've been a GT2 / GT3 user, so my question is if It's worth it to try out the base game in playthrough first or can i start off my first time straight with Spec II?
Can you please tell me the difference of Spec II mod and the 2022 Enhanced Mod? How come the mods using Public Online Beta (2GB) have less file size than the original gt4 (4.5GB)?
Did anyone manage to get a Moza wheel working with PCSX2 and GT4? I managed to get my R3 to work, but FFB cuts out every 20 seconds or so, very annoying...
Not sure how I feel about this.. I am a 100% positive that this is an improvement from the originaal, but it's still GT4 from 2004. I see every racing game UA-camr talking about this mod but I don't see any of them really playing this long term. The ones that do will only do it for the content streams, but are the viewers going to put hours into this like they did in the past? I like playing older games from time to time, but a game built around cars quickly becomes outdated. The newest car in GT4 is now 20 years old. Most of the cool cars in GT4 have a better version in GT7 with more options and the maximum field size is stil 6 cars. So sorry for sounding like a hater. I love the Gran Turismo series. I now mostly play iRacing, AC and ACC but will always defend GT when somebody throws some unfair criticism at it. I have played every game in the series from day 1. GT7 is still miles ahead even with the flaws that it has.
I have been playing GT4 since it was new, along with the other GT games. I play 2 and 4 most often though. In fact, I was half way through a GT4 playthrough on my PC and again on my phone when this mod dropped. I am gonna finish them before I try this mod. GTR2 and Tokyo Xtreme Racer 2 are other older racing games I love and still play regularly.
@@HokiHoshi maybe I'm just weird lol. I like making tunes and customising. Never cared for racing the AI because you have to seriously gimp yourself to make it a challenge. You can watch the guide I linked in the description and just set your rendering resolution to somewhere between 1-2x. Then the big setting for stable FPS on SD is "disable hardware readbacks." You have to enable manual hardware fixes to see it
Ps5 has no backwards compatiblity with physical games or be able to play modified games. It may have ps 2 games digitally but in no way you can play this on ps 5 unless some madlad can find a way which may be difficult given sony's history with modders
The mod is incredible, but it's still not for me. Racing against only five incredibly stupid opponents isn't fun. I know there's nothing that mods can do about it, unfortunately.
I did directly mention in the video that this mod works on PS2, Spec II doesn't include graphics enhancements, just some tweaks and small additions that don't affect how it runs
It is risky but you can use them and not corrupt anything but if you see text of memory card being removed and installed then you know you broke your save.

This mod is great for me, I used to play arcade mode all the time so I never got to experiece the single player mode.
What's the difference between Spec II and the Enhanced Edition ?
I have never played GT4 like as seriously in a playthrough, just arcade mode in PCSX2 because I've been a GT2 / GT3 user, so my question is if It's worth it to try out the base game in playthrough first or can i start off my first time straight with Spec II?
Can you please tell me the difference of Spec II mod and the 2022 Enhanced Mod? How come the mods using Public Online Beta (2GB) have less file size than the original gt4 (4.5GB)?
Is it not possible to race against more cars?
Maybe the GT4's Re-Tuned mod will be more enjoyable because the AI rework and many other ideas...
Does this use vehicle names from the ntsc or pal version
How can you enhance texture and resolution on this version?
How do you go about playing this mod on Ps2? I have gt4 and a ps2, what would be the next step?
Will this work on samsung s24 ultra without any corrupted data / fail to load cars / stuttering and stuff like that ?
Why dont they do this for gt6. That would be the best game after forza motorsport 4.
I wish they move it to pc
I think you vastly underestimate how many people still regularly play Gran Turismo 4 😅
All the cars I liked in GT4 have better versions in GT7 with more options. I just love putting a wide body on a S13 slam it with nice wheels and a roll cage.
@@AaronHendu man I love Tokyo Xtreme racer 2😍
does anyone has a problem when using xdelta with a "missing file error"?
Wait, this runs on PS2 too? How do I install that ??!?!?
Does you use the 1080i setting in GT4 settings?
480p is the best
Anyone have a link to the latest best settings for running it on the steam deck please?
You can watch the guide I linked in the description and just set your rendering resolution to somewhere between 1-2x. Then the big setting for stable FPS on SD is "disable hardware readbacks." You have to enable manual hardware fixes to see it
Wanna download this for emulation on my pc, can i use a wheel and pedals?
Yep! PCSX2 supports wheel input as of a couple years ago iirc
Soo this is where racing community being exposed by toxicity which really put the hates on modern racing games.
Does it support gas and break pedals on analog triggers?
Yep! The original game does too, but this mod fixes the sensitivity
@@HokiHoshi Wait... The og GT4 has this option? How come? I didn't know that D:
Now I'm even more interested in trying it.
How can I do this?
Please put the gt3 screen tach hate that digital tach
You can force the centered analog dash on now if you want but yeah I get that, would love to have gt3's hud style
Is it for PS2 or PC only?
I answered this in the video, but yes you can play on either PS2 or PC. For PS2 you do still need a pc to patch the disc
GT4 remaster
Is there a way to play this on ps5? Or can I put my playstation controller onto my Mac. Thanks in advance - complete noob when it comes to tech
No way to play on PS5, but afaik there is a version of PCSX2 for Mac, and you should be able use your PS5 controller with that
Ps5 has no backwards compatiblity with physical games or be able to play modified games. It may have ps 2 games digitally but in no way you can play this on ps 5 unless some madlad can find a way which may be difficult given sony's history with modders
Does this work together with retexture mod?
Yep!
@@HokiHoshi Awesome!
What's the point though? It's not like GT4 is better than GT7. Nostalgia? OK. But that's about it.
GT4 is in many ways a better game than GT7 to me.
How can you play it on playstations?
You have to patch the disc on PC, and then it just plays like normal!
The mod is incredible, but it's still not for me. Racing against only five incredibly stupid opponents isn't fun. I know there's nothing that mods can do about it, unfortunately.
dude, grand tourismo isn't even semi-realistic sim. it is fun tho
makes no sense if a ps exclusive cant run on original hardware
pretty sure this one runs, you just need the online public beta disc/iso.
@@KingLich451 if it comes with integrated graphics enhancements, the it probably wouldn't
I did directly mention in the video that this mod works on PS2, Spec II doesn't include graphics enhancements, just some tweaks and small additions that don't affect how it runs
@@HokiHoshi great news to hear, even in 2024 we still getting community updates for ps2 titles
For me system detect mod as Trojan virus
Emulation 😮 do you also worship someone with horns😅
3:43 friendly reminder: DO NOT USE SAVE STATES IN GRAN TURISMO 4. CORRUPT SAVE DATA IS A BITCH.
It is risky but you can use them and not corrupt anything but if you see text of memory card being removed and installed then you know you broke your save.
Like for example if you save slate a save and manually save to memory card but accidentally revert back to previous save that will fuck your save
@@evandaymon8303 it's best to just not lol
