    Hello, I've been in Merida for over 1 year and LOVED it. It's all about what you make it. I came because it's safe and close to USA. Im excited to make the transition to the motherland, and starting with Merida has given me the courage to make the move to Africa. Your FB groups and videos helped SO MUCH!!! Thanks for all that you do. I ran into you a few times, and you always had a friendly spirit. Keep doing what you're doing!!!! Many blessings!!!!!

    Bro after living in Mexico for almost 2 years my hypothesis that U.S. Citizens are THEE MOST PROPAGANDIZED population on EARTH is strengthens. Additionally, from kicking it and interacting with our Mexicano brothers and sisters IN Mexico I got left wide open knowing this! We have options, my suggestion, recognize them and capitalize on them and get in where you fit in. Let's NOT forget that one of the ORIGINAL "underground rail roads" was for some of our people going down into Mexico!

    Been following your channel for a bit now and enjoy your content very much. I lived and worked there for five years1985-1990...often return for work and fun. Planning on moving back there this next year again probably for good...just to give you some perspective. In the times that I lived here there was a very underlying tone of prejudice against people of color with the exceptions of the already centuries old Maya descendants and the Lebanese folks that emigrated. The American Consulate at the time was black but he had incredibly support and was extremely well liked by everyone...he was also fluent in Spanish and he even started a football team for the high school kids and bought their gear for them. Cool seeing mostly Mayan kids running around in pads! There was only one other black in the entire peninsula of Yucatan...he was a fisherman in Yucalpeten/Progresso known only as Negrito! He spoke English but was originally from Cuba. What a character. Soooo....just to give you an historical case as I have seen it...Blacks in Yucatan are a beautiful thing...and as most of you can see...welcomed with open arms. Un Abrazo Hermanos and Hermanas... All my best til we meet again. Mike Arnspiger on instagram as DeathValleyToo and Mike.Arnspiger also check out my videos on UA-cam

    Two years ago I decided to bail out of this messed up country then 1200$ monthly income is what it took to get a temporary residency. By the time I got my knee replaced and was ready to come to Mexico President Obrador raised it to $2400 a month, now he raised it to 4200 $ a month that’s way out of my reach. It’s very nice to know that there are so many people of color that can make the jump. So I’m taking my meager Social Security check and a small savings and traveling Mexico intel I go broke. I’m in Coatepec Veracruz at this time

      If you’ve visited Mexico in the last 10 years there are other options that don’t require financial qualifications. The Foreign National Registry program might be an option.

    • @marcykaren
      @marcykaren 11 місяців тому +4

      Don't blame the Mexican president. In 2020 when I applied for residency the peso had risen to 25 and spent most of the year higher than 22. Now it sits at just 17. This coupled with the rampant inflation, even higher than in the US, has resulted in the dollar amount needed for residency to have increased substantially. I have noticed significant increases over the past three years. Most restaurants have doubled their prices or more over this time.
      You may want to consider Central America where the income requirements are much lower. As an example, Guatemala only requires $1250 per month for permanent residency.

    • @comounaverdura
      @comounaverdura 11 місяців тому

      Why was the income requirement raised so high to live in Mexico?

    • @Mexitplans
      @Mexitplans  11 місяців тому +3

      @@comounaverdura because the minimum wage has increased 20% each year over the last 3 years.

    • @keikofay9804
      @keikofay9804 8 місяців тому

      Mexico had to raise its minimum wage several times to offset inflation and to help the poorest among their population, which earning the equivalent of $15-20 USD per day and helped reduce the country's poverty rate.
      I know it's bad for extranjeros, but it is good for Mexico. Even so, their current poverty rate is more than 30%.
      Not many on YT or expat forums seem to mention that Mexico immigration offices stopped using the multiplier system in 2016 in favor of a less "punitive" system that goes by the acronym 'UMA'. Yet, EIGHT YEARS later, and hardly any Mexican consulates around the globe have updated their systems. Mexico is famously slow with certain bureaucracy, yet THEY did it... which makes the 'governmental bureaucracy' excuse a pretty lame one to fall back on, year after year.
      I believe that a Mexican Consulate in Texas (McAllen, I think) changed to the UMA system. Might be something to look into?
      To learn more about UMA - www.mexperience.com/mexicos-uma-and-residency-qualification-criteria/
      Have a great day, and hope you find a path forward!
