Hi! I'd really like to thank you for your videos, they're inspiring and answer to a lot of questions every time. Can you recommend a score a student should realistically aim to for what concerns the ATPL theory exams? What could be a good average score an airline may have as requirement? Thank you again, please don't stop uploading videos, there's a lot of us out here that can find motivation and precious advices with your experience. Take care!

Great channel, I can't stop watching your videos! I have a question: I am currently in the last year of high school (in Sweden) and thinking of trying to get into one of the flight schools here. Would you recommend to start immediately after high school or get another degree and then try. I have been thinking of getting a bachelor in mathematics, would that be better in the long run? Would it be easier to find a job after flight school if i have that degree aswell?
    Thank you! :)

Awesome video. Always looking forward to your next one. I had few questions for now:
    1. How do pilots keep count of the flying hours? Maybe the airlines one are kept by the airline, but how can it be officially checked the hours that you fly for recreation on weekends with like a Cessna or on the simulator?
    2. Some of the programs you mentioned also have a variant with added Honour Degree. Do you recommend just focusing on flying or is a degree helpful? Especially as I am thinking of going on the aviation road immediately after finishing high school, so no degree there.
    3. Are you thinking of doing a live Hangout stream where we could also joined the video? I am thinking it's like the project you are preparing, but with less work doing and editing.
    Keep up the great work.

2-2 is basically a grading in how well yo did at your degree, it's a bit like a grade (as in A*, A, B, C etc.), but not as cut and dry. I believe they go, in descending order of ranking (i.e. best first, worst last); 1st, 2-1, 2-2, 3rd, pass, fail.
They're roughly split into 10% boundaries, based off of total credits at the end of the course, with 70%+ being a 1st, 60-69% being a 2-1 and so on

But for the 1,500h in US and 200h in EU, do you know why there's such a difference? Because now I'm wondering if I should really go into EU aviation, rather than the US. And is it 'common' that non-European students come to study in EU? Don't they then have to learn the native language of the company their looking at?
    Thanks again for the vid!))

    Hey MenTour Pilot!
Firstly I want to say all of your videos are beyond insightful and I really do enjoy all the series's you publish, it's been a huge help! Anyways I want to ask for your personal reccomendations for me academic choices. Currently I am doing 3 A Levels, Business, Geography and then AS Maths and Physics combined to form one A Level but I have the choice of leaving Maths and Physics and continue doing the other two. I have a strong gut feeling that airlines would open their eyes more at my application if I had a Maths and Physics so would you recommend me to continue with it?
I look forward to hearing back from you, many thanks! Like, subscribed and shared :)

Wow thank you very much for your swift reply, I appreciate your input! I've watched a couple of other videos since and I think you've justified why I should continue there as well so thank you :)
I recently passed the skills assessment at the Oxford Aviation Academy and I will commence my integrated ATPL training in August this year upon graduating from high school so your videos are now my bible! Keep up the awesome work dude, these videos are so insightful and I'm confident that I speak on behalf of other aspiring pilots that this is just the kinds of things we need :D Kudos to you and I look forward to your future posts :)

In Canada as a minimum you require to be classified as a mature student and do not even require a High School diploma to get a CPL and ATPL. I know a few who are currently in rewarding flying carriers without high school. That being said, most companies in Canada require at least a High School Diploma. None as I know will ask for transcripts. A post secondary degree or diploma gives you an extra point or two on your application and can be the difference on getting your CV to the top of the pile. Knowing a second language can give you another point, with the most points going for flight experience. Even more points for experience on type. Top tier companies like Air Canada require post secondary education in any field, it proves your ability to learn. As the experience level out there drops, many companies drop their post secondary requirement to find experienced candidates.

hi, I was just wondering if you could give me some advise. I have already achieved on getting my ppl and moving on to do my training at leeds bradford airport at ptt aviation. The only thing worrying me is I have know GCSES at grade C or above, all I have is a nvq level 3 in motor mechanics and key skills in maths and English. Once you are qualified and gained your frozen ATPL do airlines still look at your school qualifications or is that just for courses to be sponsored by a airlines.
    many thanks

I have pretty bad grades well D's I want everyone to know I have gotten multiple offers from British airways, Etihad airways and easy jet, I recommend getting the grades but in my case I hate school and although I am very smart at English, science and maths I can't apply it onto paper so if you do not get the grades you can pay for your pilots license.

Hi, I've got a quick question. Obviously pilots are still human beings and can still become sick or Ill like everyone else. How is that addressed by the airline and what is the limit (in terms of illness) for you to operate on a flight? Let's say on the morning of a flight you had a bad headache or migraine or some other issue, what would you do? Also thanks for making these vids! It's a real help for me as, unfortunately I don't know anyone in the profession to ask for advice.

Do the requirements change? For example Wizz air will need cadets to have at least High school but after 5 years university. Can this situation happen?

Thanks for your video. I am a german and I finished my flight training 3 years ago. Since that I applied for all airlines in Germany and also for Wizz. The strange thing is that I never got an answer. My school leaving certificate is advanced technical certificate which is in Germany called "Fachhochschulreife" and I guess that is the problem. I have also done an education as car technichen master. So I guess I have a pretty much well understanding for technical things which is much important for a pilot. So the question is why do they not acceptr that? I really do not understand that. Thanks

Wait till your boards or high school and after that decide what you want to do.
When i was your age i wanted to become a taxi driver and now that I'm mature enough to decide I'm in Flight school.
SO WAIT IT OUT BEFORE DECIDING PLEASE.

To get scholarships or bursaries into airline training, your grades have to be high. Unless you have enough money to pay for training

In Poland, it's physics, maths,English, Tech ,Mecanic/maintenence, Geography, and only at age 16 start flight school in poland best flight school in poland is In warsaw at Warsaw Babimost Airport you do flights from there to like Warsaw Chopin, Warsaw Modlin and flights across poland and at a high altitude when the student isn't watching and flying the plane the teacher pliot would do a stall and leave the student to deal with it unless he is struggling he would recover, and also the teacher would do lots of emerngiecies it's strict and poland guys,

Is it necessary to have A Levels in the U.K. To become an airline pilot. I will commence integrated ATPL at CTC OR OAA. Before this summer.
    Thank you

Keshav Bajaj No it is not, you only need A-Levels if the course you wish to apply for has a requirement for A-Levels. Other than that the minimum requirement is 5 GCSE’s including Maths, science, and English Language.
