      This is exactly what I've been worried about. I've always loved aeroplanes and played FSX for the whole of my childhood. However, I have been presented with the opportunity of taking on more financially rewarding careers in business. Do I chase my passion for aviation or the excellent money, reputation and positive social-impact offered by the business world? I can't do both. In my humble opinion, commercial airline pilots are simply skilled bus drivers; and I don't want to reach the end of my life doing something that really wasn't that special. I don't know what route to take! Would I like the chicken of the egg? The pan or the fire? Impossible decision! I'm completely lost; what wolf to feed? What dream shall live?

    • @danniepushkin5849
      @danniepushkin5849 6 років тому +6

      Definitely stick with business. And the best thing is that you DON'T have to abandon your dream of flying!
      Its just that enslaving yourself to the stress and financial hardship of flying commercially for arguably the most volatile and unstable business model - airline, is not the best way of going about it.
      Go with any profession that will give you the financial freedom and opportunity to actually ENJOY aviation and flying, so you can appreciate the joy of flight in all its fulness!
      P.S. completely off the topic, piece of advice for you, if you care to listen - I would review your nickname. Not that I really care if you think whether Jesus Christ have lived or not, its just your tag-name doesn't make you look very bright. In today's world anybody with any exposure to ancient history can tell you that Jesus Christ was a historical figure.
      Now, where do you go from here is totally your choice and your choice only.

      +Δημήτρης Χαφακιας In American English the driver of a locomotive is called an Engineer so they do move about though jet lag seems like it would be the wrong word for that since a train takes around 4 days to cross the US coast to coast so it's only a change of around 1 hour per day time zone wise.

    • @thewanderingvoice7349
      @thewanderingvoice7349 7 років тому +3

    Many of the reasons you mention is why I'm absolutely happy flying PC12s around Europe:
    - You never know where you will be going next
    - The fields you go to are usually very small to save on landings fees and time consuming security checks.
    - These small fields are usually quite challenging (short grass strips, or mountain strips like Courchevel)
    - The small fields without instrument approaches force you to check out the WX more precisely
    - You have direct contact with passengers (receiving pax at security, taking them to A/C, serving them)
    - You don't have jet lag
    - You don't sit in the cockpit for more than 2-3h per flight (more time on task flying departures and arrivals than sitting in the cockpit 12h on a transatlantic flights)
    - Depending on if it is private or commercial, your medical requirements aren't as high
    - You usually come home the same day
    - You're never on standby
    on the other side, I could probably never make a living off it like you do :)

    My uncle went to the US for flight school and finish within a year (it would’ve been less if it wasn’t for bad weather conditions in Texas) and when he got his commercial license, United Airlines and American Airlines sent him a ton of job offers but he just declined them all because he wanted to come back home to be with us 🥰
    And he ended up getting a job in the biggest regional airline.
    I’m not saying this to brag but to say that if he managed to do that, anyone can!

I used to be afraid of flying, but these videos help me understand if a pilot can do all of these things simultaneously, they are probably good at what they do. I'm also fascinated by how much these pilots have to learn. Being interested in a lot of different subjects is good. So keep watching my friend!

      I think the main questions are: Do you like to fly, and is flying what you want to do in the future? If you say yes, I think you should go for it because if you don't try it you will regret it later when it's too late.
      I suggest that you reserve a demo flight with a flight instructor in your nearest flight school and you can try the controls. If you still love it then go for it.
      Of course before starting you have to pass the aviation medical examination and you must be able to hold a Class 1 medical certificate to become an airline pilot.

    I've dreamed of being a Pilot since I was in grade 2. I am average in studies. I told my parents that I'm gonna be a Pilot when I was young but never did when I grew up! Many parents don't agree as it is a risky job! You never know what will happen. But still I wasn't scared of something bad! I'm studying Dental Science right now. Now I'm not going to be a Pilot. This mistake is something that I'll regret my whole life. Never do something I did. Study more, work smart. Good luck to all reading this. May your dream comes true!❤️
