SO guys, I'm gonna be remaking this video again soon. I'm not as blonde as I am in this video, but I am a honey blonde towards the tips. In October, I plan on dying it dark! Any products you want me to try out this time around?
wow thats weird every single video I have been looking about changing from blonde to brunette it comes out it looks way better as brunette I haven't seen one that looked better as blonde wow what a difference also the skin looks tanner than with blonde hair, I guess confirmation to change my hair back.
My daughter is trying to fix a bleach problem with her hair right now and I am excited about what I've learned from your video. It is unclear to me what mixture you used on your hair and when. The first mixture was the dye/developer mix, then you used the dye/water/ph bonder mix, then put the dye/developer mix back on, is that correct? Please let me know so I can help my daughter. Her prom is in 1 week and she is a hot mess right now.
Rachael Benson hi! the first mixture was 30g copper pre pigment + 30g gold pre pigment + 60g water all mixed, then added redken pH bonder to that mix. Let that sit for 10 min on hair and towel dry, no rinse. 2nd mixture was 30g of 1 brown dye and 30g of the 2nd brown dye and 60g of volume 10 developer, once mixed I added the pH bonder. My 3rd mixture was a repeat of my 2nd mixture, a (1:1) ratio of color:developer. I just ran out of my pH bonder so that was not mixed into the 3rd one. Hope this cleared things up for ya!
Your hair came out beautiful! I now noticed your beautiful eyes with the dark hair. The blonde hair I couldn’t even tell that you had beautiful eyes. ❤
I’m lazy when it comes to keeping up with my bleached hair. I also like dark roots but this time around it let them grow out tooooo much thinking of going back dark brown (natural color). You look gorgeous with brown hair 😍. Makes Me wanna hurry up and go brown lol
Great video. You may have saved my hair because I was honestly just going to use a box of Dye myself.... no pigment restoration or anything. I had no idea I needed to do these other steps first. Thank you Thank you thank you !
It looks so beautiful on you! I really wish I watched this before dying my own hair because I thought I could just dye my blonde hair to dark brown and didn’t even know filling color back in was necessary. My hair definitely picked up some greenish tints, so I should’ve done my research beforehand. Thanks for the video, I’ll never forget it now 😂
Oh my days, the brunette looks so good on you! I absolutely love it! I’m constantly battling with myself whether to be blonde or brunette (I’m naturally a sort of dirty blonde colour) tbh though I’ve always loved brunette and I’ve only ever given up and gone back to blonde in the past because of how often I have to recolour it 😅. It looks so beautiful on you though, I actually gasped when I saw it at the end of the video 😂💕💕
Your a life saver ! My hair, looks exactly like your blonde with the brown roots showing, I was just going to go buy brown hair dye ( box at that ) I think I'm going to have to do all this 🤦♀️
This is great to see how easy it is to work with the fillers. After watching this, I was hoping to find a follow up video on how you maintain the dark brown. Do you touch up the roots or do occasional all-over color? I did find your all-over color video from earlier times. But I wonder if you still do it that way or have an updated method. Thanks!
Hi Rachel! Just as I'd suspected, my hair faded out pretty evenly. Similar to how a semi permanent fades. It was much more porous- especially since I bleached my hair 3x in a week, and I've been coloring for 10 years now. So I just recolored my whole head after a few months lol. I didn't have the root grow out that normally occurs. Of course now I'm back to a honey blonde color, and trying to get my hair to grow! Once It grows I'm chopping the bleached hair and coloring it back to dark brown! I haven't been able to decide on a color in the last year haha. Hope that information helped :)
Your hair looks great and i liked your video. However, i decided if i need to buy all those products, i may as well pay the salon to do it professionally.
I had my hair bleached blonde and now I got it dyed brown. After 3 applications of brown dye at the hairdressers I decided to learn to dye it brown myself when it fades! What volume of developer should I use to cover faded hair? X
Good question! My hair color doesn't usually fade too much, but when I see it looking dark brown instead black, I use a 10 volume developer to go over it again or even to just do my roots. Max I would go is 20 - if my hair turned to a medium brunette and I was trying to go back to black!
Hi! My natural hair is dark brown but I currently have some brassy/golden balayage that I'm so sick of. I'm wanting to go back to my natural color & was wondering if I would need to do the filling process? It's not super blonde. Thanks!
Holly Michelle I would say if you used bleach then yes you’d probably get the best results if you fill your hair first. But I’m not a professional, be sure to consult with one before you do!
Hey! I love the results and you look so pretty!! So I got a balayage a couple months ago and the color faded out and so I wanted to dye it a darker color. My hair looks similar to yours but the bleach makes my hair look more orange so would I need to add the pigment before the dye? Thanks so much:)
I have no idea it all kind of depends on what your definition of darker is! If your hair is already orangey brown, you should be fine if you’re not dying it super dark brown/black. If you want it black/dark brown, try adding a bit of red into your filler! Have you done your hair yet?
It is not recommended or safe to use regular hair colour on your eyebrows... (i am a hairdresser) another tip only mix your final hair colour when you are ready to use it or it will not give you the best results
Great video and thanks so much for sharing! It seems Amazon doesn’t sell those Kenra products anymore. Any suggestions where to get them? Thanks again!
Thank you!! I would try sally beauty, or if you have a friend with their license, they can buy the products at a cosmo. store! That works out for me sometimes haha. Best of luck!
Wish I had remembered this! Went from having the bottom half of my hair bleached with a semi-permanent red on top and recently went down to a demi-permanent 3 all over. I thought the red I already had was enough to "fill" the hair but it wasn't and now my ends fade real quick. I'm a cosmetology student so I should have known 🤦♀️
WOW! That darker color really brings out your eye color, its just gorgeous! I attempted to bleach my daughters hair to remove a pink color and I ended up melting her hair. Its been about 6 months and I hv gotten most of her damaged hair cut off and she's ready to go back to her chocolate brown hair color so I thought I wld see if its possible to do it. After watching your video, I realized I nd to just leave it to the professionals. 🤣 You did an amazing job and u hv the patience for it. When u started pulling out all those boxes, I was like, okay, nope... BUT I was wondering would what you did be considered a double or single process? U had to put the fill in colors on your hair, then color it so Im thinking its a double process?? Im just trying to figure out what it wld cost me to get it done in a salon.
I'm not really sure what a salon would consider double or single process in terms of cost, but for me I would say it was double since it was two different applications of color. Thanks so much for watching!
It looks great and healthy! Is the blue towel okay? This whole time I wonder about the blue towel if the towel washed out, if the towel is okay. It is a nice blue towel and I dont know if the brown would wash out of it. I had a blue towel once and accidentally it got bleached and then it was a blotchy blue towel. I was sad.
Ya I made the mistake of putting brown just over blonde and when I went into the sun, it looked like salt and pepper speckles, so I bleached it and the speckles went away. I need to do it your way!
Yes!! I had to make a youtube video about it because there are so many people who haven't heard about filler, myself included. Because I was just gonna put black/brown over my blonde, but i decided to UA-cam if first and found all of this information on here.
You wouldn't need red if you are going from a light blonde to a dark blonde. You may need some gold, but nothing dark. I am not a licensed cosmetologist so make sure you are double checking with one! :)
Did this color fade after washing? I had light ash blonde hair and a stylist took me to a color between 6 and 7 to get back to my natural sandy blonde. It looked good after she was done but fades to a weird color immediately after the first wash at home. What can I do to maintain the color until my natural hair grows back out?
You could always use a color depositing conditioner or shampoo, but it would probably be a lot of maintenance! Personally I would ask the cosmetologist if that's normal and how can we fix it??
Help I don’t know what to do..... so my natural color is brown with some blonde. In middle school, I bleached it for 2 years. I wanted to go back to brown my sophomore year, so I did. But then it faded to red, I dyed it brown with permeate dye three times now. The other day I tried using a bit of blue hair dye mixed with conditioner to help cover the red, but there is too much red in my hair. I just want my natural brown back :( what should I do, wait for it to go away? Or can I use something to strip the color? I at least want the ugly red out of my hair.
Use a violet and a gold mixed with the brown so say you want to be a light brown (level 6) you would use a 6 N( level six natural/neutral) and 6nv ( level six neutral violet) and a 6g ( level six gold) that fills the blonde and helps you get the perfect blonde. Look at a color wheel. What ever color is across red then that’s what you would use to cancel it out. Example, if your hair is green you would use red to Cancel it out
The red that it fades to is most likely the undertone of the brown dye you are using. The 2nd time i went from blonde to dark brown, I used a neutral brown filler as apposed to ginger/red, and that has worked well for me. Or you might try using an "ashy" brown hair color. But, I am not a professional so I would double check with one! Here is my video on that brown (not red) filler ua-cam.com/video/nlx-XxFOcB4/v-deo.html
Anna, I am not finding the Kenra Pre-Pigment coloring Creme in Copper anywhere. It seems to be all sold out. Do you know of something to use in place of it?? Thank you, Carson
It's up to you! I've seen people do red/orange hair color, and then apply the dark hair color (both with developer). Or you can use the pigment, but there may be some pigments that require a developer. It really comes down to what you're comfortable with trying. However, please remember I'm not a certified cosmo.. just a gal making videos!
If I want to dye my hair a lighter brown would I still use those gold and copper colors? Could I use maybe more of the gold than the copper or should I make it even?
Personally, I would, just so I have those underlying pigments there. But, that lighter brown may come out very warm. I am not a cosmetologist so be sure to check with one
sammieybarra90 it all depends on your hair, if you used a heavy developer and let the bleach sit for a long time, I’d give it a few days and use hydrating products on it. When you go back to dark brown, be sure to use a filler of some sort and max 20 volume developer so it’s not as damaging on your hair
Hey thank you for your video may I ask more about this please ? I’m based in the uk what do I need to go dark brown I just bleached my hair again it always goes orange and yellow mixed tones but it’s a disaster what can I buy from capital hair uk beauty supply does anyone know ? As i been told you can’t just put brown on you have get red first then brown what exactly can I buy so I can order it x thanks guys
You are correct, red first. I've seen some people use red hair color, and then wash it out and put brown hair color on immediately after. However, I'm not a licensed cosmo so please check with one first!
I dont like to waering any wigs or fake hair or clip ons i like just natrla my own hair.yes you can put relvon box on bleach hair i did it and it truned out fine i did deep rich brown.
hi anna, so I had bleached my hair once and wanted to go back to brown about 3 months later. I used the red protein filler and then dyed over it with a brown, but i chose a color that was slightly too ashy so now I still have a slight green/grey pigment in my hair. I need to fix it within the next 5 days because I'm going on vacation! What would you suggest i do? i've heard different solutions everywhere and not sure which to trust
I tried to do the same thing as you... only I did it before watching and now my hairs red! I have no idea what to do and every hair salon is closed! I’m so lost please help!
thats a rough one! I hope the salons open soon for you, I'm not sure what I would do in that case! If you can't live with all the red, I'd try just adding dark brown over again. That's just me though, I'm not a professional.
I have scoured the internet and cannot find these Kenra products anywhere that I trust. I am guessing because they are for professionals only? What could someone use to fill in their hair that isn't a Kenra or Redken product? Any tips would be helpful
I'm sorry girl!! At the time, I was able to purchase all of this product through amazon. But yes, they are usually for professionals only. Using any orange/reddish hair color will do, as long as you're getting that pigment in. Fair warning, I am not a licensed cosmetologist, just a girl who likes to color her hair. Be sure to consult with one just in case!
I'm not a professional, but I would do a dark orange or a red. I'm gonna use red filler for the next time. I imagine you'd get the same results as I did, however I'm not sure what the difference between hair dye and hair filler is, or if there even is a difference. Be careful and good luck!
I have dark brown roots (about 3 inch growth) with the rest bleached. I am using the red red protein filler. When I do my brown dye do I do my roots first or the bleached part :/ #isolated
Your roots will always process faster than the rest of your hair because of the heat coming from your scalp. Since that needs the least amount of work, I'd say roots last. But, that is up to you. Consult with a licensed professional!
I would think once the brown starts to fade, you'd want to do the filler and then brown again. I'm not sure what would happen if you put a reddish filler over top of brown! But I am not a licensed cosmetologist so double check with someone who is!
I had my hair bleached about 2 days ago. I have natural dark brown hair and had a golden warm blonde balayage. It was only toned and bleached not dyed. Would it be ok to change it back to my natural color this soon?
SO guys, I'm gonna be remaking this video again soon. I'm not as blonde as I am in this video, but I am a honey blonde towards the tips. In October, I plan on dying it dark! Any products you want me to try out this time around?
Loreal Dark Brown Cool Brown ;)
It looks drak black not any blond
What should I do if I can't get the Redken pH bonder? I've been trying to search everywhere but can't find it
@@katherinewilsman1521 It's not absolutely necessary to the process, it just helps to protect your hair, similar to olaplex.
Talkative girl
You look much healthier with darker hair. Your skin went from looking washed out to porcelain. Inspiring me to get rid of my stale colour.
I agree :)
Thanks for watching!!
Her skin is porcelain regardless.
The blonde washed you out and the natural brown brought out life back in. The after color is so beautiful
Thanks for watching!
Darker hair suits your features very well--it makes yours eyes pop ❤️

you kinda look like bella hadid
Qwerty lol thank you!
The dark color hair really highlights how pretty your eyes, how pretty all your features are! Super pretty!
I love the dark color on you. I just dyed my hair from a brassy color to dark brown in my latest video. I love it. It’s so much healthier
Thank you so much! :)

Aw thank you so much!! I really appreciate it
Thank you for your video! I followed exactly what you did, and my daughter's hair turned out AMAZING!
Great video. You may have saved my hair because I was honestly just going to use a box of Dye myself.... no pigment restoration or anything. I had no idea I needed to do these other steps first. Thank you Thank you thank you !

I did this when I was in college and my hair turned bright blue! It was horrifying then but hilarious now. 😂
Your hair looks beautiful dark I’m bleach blonde I’m going dark brown to get my condition back I like brown hair always looks glossy soft
dark hair always looks so smooth!
Wow what a colour ❤ How is the condition of your dyed hair a few months down the line?
Really good! I think darker hair also typically looks healthier and shinier than light hair. Still growin long and healthy.
Wow absolutely stunning you look amazing that color looks beautiful on you makes your eyes stand out even more, love the lipstick

Yes, I was using Pravana Perfect Blonde shampoo & conditioner

Michael Davis hi Carson! Thank you for watching. I have an amazon link for it in my bio! I got mine from amazon :)
Any other suggestions on what to use if I can’t get a hold of the Kenra products, can I just use red hair dye?
I've seen people do it but I've never done it myself!
This is exactly what I’m looking for! Thank you
Thanks for watching :)
I need you to do my hair! I love it's dark bit still brown!
sharosentkisses a
So you fill with a non developer color and then cover with developer color?
It's up to you! I've seen people do red/orange hair color, and then apply the dark hair color (both with developer). Or you can use the pigment, but there may be some pigments that require a developer. It really comes down to what you're comfortable with trying. However, please remember I'm not a certified cosmo.. just a gal making videos!
Dark hair look good and you could suit Platinum blonde too.
Thank you :)
You did a great job! Thanks for all the info!
I recently dyed my hair blonde & I don't like it. How long do I have to wait to dye it drk brown? H E L P!!
sammieybarra90 it all depends on your hair, if you used a heavy developer and let the bleach sit for a long time, I’d give it a few days and use hydrating products on it. When you go back to dark brown, be sure to use a filler of some sort and max 20 volume developer so it’s not as damaging on your hair
Anna Manning - Makeup Tutorials, Beauty, Hairstyles okay. Thanks so much.
However, I'm not a licensed cosmo so please check with one first!
ur beautiful and so good at hair!
So could I do everything you did in this video except the pH bonder or would I need to have that?
Yes, pH bonder is not necessary ❤️
Omg Zala is the BEST HAIR!!! I have so much hair from them lol
I dont like to waering any wigs or fake hair or clip ons i like just natrla my own hair.yes you can put relvon box on bleach hair i did it and it truned out fine i did deep rich brown.
For most people, after a while it'll fade to an ashy-green color. You must have lucky hair!
@@TheMakeupTutorialBeauty thanks
what products are you using? You go so fast I cant see the labels
hi anna, so I had bleached my hair once and wanted to go back to brown about 3 months later.
OH man I'm sorry I didn't see this sooner, what did you end up doing?
I tried to do the same thing as you... only I did it before watching and now my hairs red! I have no idea what to do and every hair salon is closed! I’m so lost please help!
Mind you I didn’t do exactly what you were do I tried
thats a rough one! I hope the salons open soon for you, I'm not sure what I would do in that case! If you can't live with all the red, I'd try just adding dark brown over again. That's just me though, I'm not a professional.
How do you know which colors to use?
lots of research and envisioning what colors will look right on you!
U shampoo and conditioner after ? And it won’t wash out or go light with the shampoo
I do shampoo and condition after regularly. The color I used usually fades to a very dark brown with washing, but over a longer period of time.
You look amazing!
Looks great! Eyes poppin!
Jennifer Cassaday thank you so much ❤️❤️
With dark is more attractive👌
Thank you for watching ❤️
Beautiful end result!!!
Thank you! 😊
Thank for the video. Could I just fill blonde hair with an orange dye then add a brown/black dye on top?
I'm not a professional, but I would do a dark orange or a red. I'm gonna use red filler for the next time. I imagine you'd get the same results as I did, however I'm not sure what the difference between hair dye and hair filler is, or if there even is a difference. Be careful and good luck!
You look much better as a brunette!
Chelsea Summers thank you! I agree :)
Will this work if I put golden blonde ?
Hi there!! I can't guarantee, make sure you consult with a licensed cosmetologist!
Where can I get the filler to get my blonde out !???!
It's all linked in my description box :)
i bleached my hair and now its like a light brown and i hate it i want my hair back to dark
I hope this video was at least helpful! I'm sorry to hear that
Can i still do this if I've put brown on top of my blonde?
I would think once the brown starts to fade, you'd want to do the filler and then brown again. I'm not sure what would happen if you put a reddish filler over top of brown! But I am not a licensed cosmetologist so double check with someone who is!
I had my hair bleached about 2 days ago. I have natural dark brown hair and had a golden warm blonde balayage. It was only toned and bleached not dyed. Would it be ok to change it back to my natural color this soon?
Heather Xoxo I wouldn’t! Your hair needs some time to heal
The best video!!!!
So much better looking as a brunette.
Thanks for watching!
But I don’t have a hair license, how am I supposed to get the fillers???
Jack Hanigan I bought everything on amazon! Links are in the description box. Buy at your own risk! ❤️
Good job!!
This was great! And your hair looks awesome.
