For people who can't weave fast/haven't done this before, might be smarter to use a 20 volume and leave it to process longer. 40 vol could fry your hair if you leave it on too long.

Everyone is asking about why I didn't tone the babylights and only did a root smudge. Just want to clarify that didnt incafet tone my hair off camera and here is why. When I weave such thin babylights and use 40 vol Redken Flash lift lightner (which is already blue to neutralize some warmth) my babylights rarely have to get toned. However if you want to know what toner I use for my blonde all over, you can check out my root touch up video. Where I show you how to touch and refresh your hair. If I were to tone my babylights thats the toner formula I would use.

Sometimes I'll see a professional for a full head of highlights and spend 3 hrs at the salon maybe every 6 months to a year, but doing these mini touchups helps me keeping my hair looking its best and saves me time and money. Also, professionals are grateful I do it right so it makes their jobs easier as well.

As long as you take such super small slices, everything should end up fine. The hardest thing is the coordination. When I do my hair myleft, my hands have problems how to hold the brush or the foil, then when I found the right position, my arm that holds the foil feels like falling off) so I have to take little breaks to let my arm muscles chill out a little. So as long u do thin sections and take ur time, it should turn out good.

I followed your tutorial using Wella blondor followed by the shades EQ 6N, with a root tap but I pulled it through after 10 minutes and washed off at 17 minutes. I am ecstatic with the result, the 6N totally made it, don’t know why I’ve not found you before lockdown! Thank you! The only thing I’d revise personally for me as a newbie t-section highlighter is using a lower developer at the start on side hairline as I am slow getting them in! And the back of crown is really tricky on your own! Thank you again for sharing your videos.

Absolutely love this... I've been increasing upset in recent years after my colorist passed away at a young age, as well as the "world event" of 2020 that occured... both incidents have resulted in not having the option to get new highlights in my hair. Recently I've considered learning how to do my own and am confident in my ability to do so, and this was such an excellent guide. Thank you so much for providing this as an option and resource for me! Once I reach a point that I wish to proceed, I will undoubtedly be reviewing this again!

I watched a few hours of your hair tutorials and information and wanted to say thank you! I did my own hair for the very first time and it looks awesome! I seriously like it just as good if not better than going to the salon. I just moved to a new area and so I was having a hard time finding a new stylist after moving out of state.

      Falcon Griffith how’d it go?!!!
I’m a curly hair girl as well and I find it very difficult (impossible) to foil my own hair. I’m sticking to balayage diy techniques due to the curls & massive thickness of my big hair...unfortunately will take a while longer to get the lift I’m seeking without foil. I’m definitely interested to hear how it went for you!

Just a huge thank you. I did my root color and highlights on myself as a stylist I never have anyone to do my highlights bcus everyone is so busy. I did do my root color and then went through and weaved it I did do a lil tease on the weaved sections then I toned with redken. My hair looks the best it has in so long. Thank you so so so much 🙌 ps ur beautiful and congrats on ur baby 🍼 I also did a curtain bang wish I could post a pic on here. Thank u again.

I just wanted to encourage you that you can! Years ago my person moved away but before she left she showed me exactly what product she was using for my hair color. From that day I began to buy these products and apply myself. Now, years later I still do myself and because of my color and process can apply in under 10 minutes. It’s a bit tedious but I put on something on YT that I can listen to for entertainment - the $$ saving is phenomenal and I love that I can control my hair and experiment (carefully) with the color. I hope you’re able to give it a try! Good luck!

I admire her for trying to help and teach us- I just want to say that these girls have a certain humility about them and take for granted the fact that this ability to do this is a gift and a God given talent & calling. They answered the call and have worked to develop the skill but not everyone has this gift. I realized that when I tried to start teaching astrology to beginners. I realized it’s a unique calling and my purpose. I still try to teach it regardless because it matters to me.
I just wanted to say this to this content creator because it’s a gift.

I tried this on licensed in hair myself about 2 years but have not been able to work due to the pandemic and that’s usually how I get my hair done is by someone I work with but I was just getting so bored with my color and needed a guide to even be able to do it on my own head instead of another person I would say this is one of the most helpful videos even for someone who can’t do hair I did it slightly different than her but mine came out so good I was surprised one thing I would say is to not use 40 volume developer at home
