Funny to see how many comments there are for the s95b. I returned mine for the 77 G2, way happier with the G2 and I don’t feel like I’m missing anything in picture quality. If anything I prefer the viewing experience on the G2.
I found myself always fiddling with settings when watching different content on the s95b. I changed a handful of settings on the G2 during setup and just spent 6 hours straight watching all kinds of different shows/movies without wanting to change anything.
The colors do pop slightly more on the s95b, but it just doesn’t look natural. I found it fatiguing after watching for a couple of hours. G2 all the way for me.

The only reason to go for the g2 is if you want the 77inch.
The s95b won ahead of the g2 in the TV shootout so there you go, especially when you consider the fact the s95b is cheaper than the G2 and that QD oled beats Woled …. It’s a no brainier and next year Samsung will make a 77inch

@@doctorparker1736 I’ve owned both and the size isn’t the only reason. I’m glad you like your s95b but it’s definitely not the best.
The ABL on the S95B is very noticeable, you can’t even have an Apple TV screensaver running without the picture fading into oblivion after 5 - 10 minutes. Brightness is not sustainable for long HDR scenes.
The build quality and design is amateur compared to the G2. The menu system and interface is slow and clunky. Colors pop, but look unnatural and are fatiguing after a couple of hours.
I can keep going, but it basically just comes down to a gen 1 product not being as polished as tech that has been refined year after year. Maybe in another few years I’ll try again.

    • @doctorparker1736

Both sony and Samsung have pros and cons and even the g2 aswell. But there is a reason why the s95b came 2nd in the shoot out mate, auto dimming you can turn off in settings so I don’t see why it’s a problem, this was to reduce the risk of burn in. Don’t you think it would be idiotic for anyone to have the same image for a long time on any oled ? People that are viewing the tv normally with constants different scenes won’t experience this issue how many people are going to spend that much on a tv to just only have Apple TV logo on 😂? I don’t think you’ve had the s95b for that long ? They recently had update that reduce the brightness and made it more natural which is probably why it came on 2nd over the g2. Lastly Ofc it’s not perfect none of the TVs are but give credit where it’s due Samsung display created qd oled just wait till the tech gets better year on year

@@RyanZNO s95b over the g2 when it comes to the stand you have to order it separately and it probably has the worst wobble of any of the TVs? Keep that on the wall if you’re getting a g2 I just don’t like how it don’t have a suitable stand or the stand from the g1 last year. A95k on a stand? Tilts and no space for a soundbar and it’s very heavy for no reason. So yeah I would say none of the TVs are perfect mate. Also you got rid of your s95b to early but that’s fine, the information is out there for everyone to see

Thank you. I have a couple of questions please. I'm in the market for a 65 with The LG G2 and the S95B are at same price. My main useablelity is to watch streaming services.
) How is the longevity and warranty of the S95B compared to G2? Would you say one is more susceptible over the other to panel degradation in the future (e.g colour dimming..etc.)
    2) How much of a role would a lack of Dolby Vision play in picture/colour quality?

The only time you would be able to see affect the tv in that manner is to shine a bright flashlight or really bright light directly at the tv. Otherwise it's a beast. The G2 stand this year makes it wobbly a lot I prefer the stand from the G1. Either way both the g2 and s95b is cheaper than the a95k. And you can get the g2 at a bigger size (77) then the a95k in 65inch which is same price. But that’s why I lean towards the s95b because it’s currently even cheaper then the g2. I think the a95k is the worst tho, the stand makes it tilt and there’s no space for soundbar. It’s also kind heavy for no reason but again all great tvs.

Now, I just got a significant raise so I kinda don't care about price. To get the G2 or not 🧐🤔
Don't get me wrong. The A80J is great, but temporary screen retention bothers me. I also find dark content very dull unless I'm watching at the dead of night with no lights on. Darker SD content is the worst. If the LG has an overall brighter picture in dark content that would be great. I don't care about accuracy as much as I do being able to see wtf is going on. Dune was pretty rough and I know it's kinda supposed to be but black crush isn't accurate either.

I get the love of people for the OLED screen and indeed it is beautiful to look at but what put me off was the reflection especially when you have the lights on and the black level is more of a con for me the a pro since it's losing so much details. The viewing angle though of the C2 & G2 are slightly better than the QN95B. But i would still choose the QN95B due to it's more vibrant display with more colors and you can see shadow details. Also I've noticed that the OLEDs red are super red which I don't like. I stared at the TVs for 10 minutes coz it's hard to really compare the contents when it's playing fast and your eyes keeps darting at these 3 TVs and you have to move your eyes as fast as you can to see the difference especially that the QN95B is one 55" TV apart. 😅 It is easier though to compare the G2 and C2 since they are on top of each other and that tiny difference is not worth that huge price difference.

Also that shadow detail is important coz with OLEDs black crash it feels like I'm missing so many details in a scene or movie, I can just imagine myself watching the last episode of GOT and taking out a torch just to see what was happening 🤣. Also I don't need to constantly worry about burn-ins and can keep the TV for 5-10 years (My current TV is Samsung and bought it 12 years ago, still going strong and the black levels is still spectacular, no reflection as it's like matte, but there is a DSE now and you can notice it in some scenes especially with white background. However, my dilemma is the QN95B is let's say US1000 more expensive than the C2 coz the C2s we have here (or at least the store I want to buy from) is a parallel import so I mean that's a no brainer to go for the cheaper one. The LG oleds would be a no brainer for me if they didn't rob users of SDR brightness. Most content is not HDR, look at the rates of HDR adoption on UA-cam. Windows still doesn't handle HDR well.
The people defending it by saying SDR = 100 nits, one its like they never watched TV, two do not remember CRTs and three do not understand how eyes work. CRTs are perceptibly brighter than progressive displays like LCD and OLED, mastering at 100 nits is for BVMs in pitch dark rooms and even back in the day mastering could be done at 200 nits. People were watching SDR content above 100 nits since trinitron hit the market, its not the wrong way to watch it. Capping SDR at close to 100 nits looks awful and no one outside the OLED defense forces is going to agree the 'accurate' setting isn't miserable and dim.

Yea, I had two G1s last year and both were way worse than the S95B. What was surprising also was that one of them was considerably less bright than the other one. S95B triumphs in every department. LG always gets top reviews of their displays until you get your hands on an actual retail unit. Can't imagine a shocking upgrade between the G1 and G2 either.

The s95b won ahead of the g2 in the TV 2022 shootout and this was Samsung first oled since 2013. The a95k came first closely ahead, remember samsung made the panel. The s95b is even cheaper than the g2 in 55 and 65inch

He he, tell the same about 83 inch version , for me only this size has meaning for movies , 2.39:1 format is terrible for smaller sizes .

Unless you an LG fanboy or on right budget no reason to buy this obsolete OLED TV over Sony Bravia A95K or Samsung S95B.
