Fast-Approaching Nighttime Tornado Headed to Pampa, Texas

While this isn't the most visually appealing video I've ever uploaded, it very nicely illustrates the enhanced danger of tornadoes (and storm chasing them) at night. These storms were producing very little overall lightning as you can see, and tornadoes were moving 40-50 mph forward motion that night. In other words, their location would change quite a bit between flashes. This one grazed the southeast side of Pampa, Tx causing EF3 rated damage. I shot this from Groom, TX on I40 looking north/northeast, zoomed in.

commenting 3/23/17 715am EDT: So good to hear your narrative voice again, David..nice job on this 11/16/15-overnight tonrado and CG-videoings...as your voice reminded me of your own awesomed-5/9/97-Odessa TX nighttimed Tstorm you have nicely copied and sent me on 8/19/99....BTW..my thumbnail pix shown here, David...was from 8/8/08.. and exactly 1 week later, 8/15/08..when I was Emailing you as there was then tons of lightning over my place ATVST...amazing! 2015 also brought me some BIG Tstorms....7/28/15..I got on UA-cam a huge Tstorm with hail, CG,s loud thunder, and a tornado-warning alert....and 8/4/15...tons of morning lightning and 83 mph winds just to my N..also on UA-cam.

Just to let you know it was a wedge tornado. Catagory 5 I was almost caught in it... I live in Pampa Tx. I was working for Aaron's sales and lease at that time I was in the Aaron's truck that night heading back from mobeetie. And I could see it during the lightning flashes.. I made it into pampa and had to park the vehicle at allsups and take shelter in the store for over an hour in thier restroom.. it was definitely a wedge tornado.
