- Test of Resolve rules for Wars of the Roses battles. For either skimish, or much larger battles. This looks like an interesting set, and I hope to do a battle report in a week or so.
testofresolve....
The scenario books make this even better….. all the historical battles of the WotR…
I love seeing review on rule sets especially one that is a alternative to HC.
would love to see the battlereport ;)
Great review thank you, definitely has my interest, would love to see how it plays.
They do look intresting, I'll be picking a copy up soon. Nice review mate, really in depth and well set out 👍
Pretty sure I made a few mistakes, hopefully it gave a good flavour though.
Very nice review and walk through, all the best, Garry

Interesting, I have been thinking of buying these rules but I think I want to see them play before I shell out. Nice review thanks
If you have a look at the facebook group you will see some battle reports. There is also a full run through of a game explaining the rules
Look forward to the test game.
Nice review - just ordered my set.
Thanks for the review. I was thinking about getting these, but the dual Resolve and Morale rules seem over-complicated. I also get the impression that the paper used is on the thin side. Think I will probably pass on them.
What is the base size for Companies when using 28mm?
60*40mm with 5 or 6 figures per base by the look of it.
The playthrough is on my blog: blundersonthedanube.blogspot.com/2021/05/test-of-resolve-playthrough-stoke-field.html
(unrelated to this review, but very detailed).
Thanks Peter.
It seems to me that the problematic thing about this and similar periods is that the survival of many of the units is irrelevant to the final outcome. The only thing that mattered was if your knights defeated your opponent’s knights. How many archers and billmen died was irrelevant.
