    Its honestly crazy the system of food got brought up recently as a tactic for starving the top of the redline from the revolutionaries.

    Momo actually means peach. It's also a reference to the classical Japanese hero, Momotaro.
    The fried dumplings you showed are called Gyoza.

      i was about to write this too. momo is peach . by the way the dumplings are also called Momo but not in Japan but in western China and and the surrounding area. just not Japan.

    A thing about Zoro’s “onigiri” attacks; do you remember what happened when we first met Zoro? A little girl wanted to feed him rice balls - onigiri.
    Seems like a nice little touch.
    Anyways, fantastic video! You can never go wrong with talking about food.

    My man, airborne pollution like what comes off the smokestacks of the weapons factories causes acidic downpours irl, it's easy to assume that the rain and snow are toxic because of that.
    Keep up the work though, peace!

    Btw, here is small little detail about that cover story: the name of the kingdom the milkmaid Moda lived in was Lulucia. You've probably never heard of it, really there seems to be no evidence of such country even existing but eh, what can you do

    It’s kind of cool that luffy says he doesn’t want to be a hero because he wants to hog all the meat. And then he meets pirates who hog all the meat.

    18:55 another thing worth mentioning is that luffy while not as dire ate his fruit out of anger and all three are mythical zoans.

    One more thing that you kind of missed was the anime version of the Long Ring Long Land arc, it showed that a lot of the fruit on the trees were excessively long compared to their normal counterparts, nothing huge, but just a fun little thing with long apples and long kiwis

    Has Dr. Hiruluk been in Wano? Was this the place he mentioned to have seen the cherry's blossom from? The faraway land where the cherry blossoms bloomed amd healed him? Man.

    I would believe that either Kaido's crew or Orochi's soldiers now and then checked all villages and towns that are not 'supposed' to be priviliged and destroys any such contraptions for fresh water

    When talking about how devil fruits affect islands, I thought you were forsure going to bring up how Sugar produces toys that transform human victims into slaves that are used for waiters at restaurants and laborers for the underground exporting business

    I have really enjoyed these videos, it's the first time Ive seen a youtuber take on this aspect of the series really highlights the worldbuilding from a whole other perspective

    My most favorite part of the query prison is that one guy who told Luffy and kidd to chew their food throughly so that they don’t choke. And not even that, but they even give luffy and kidd the right amount of food for their ticket even though they could’ve cheated them.

    Momo means peach and Otama refers to a dessert called kibidango

    19:19 Ebisu as well all the other pleasures they didn't lost the ability to express anger because they are "pretending". The failed smile fruits make people literally incapable of showing any emotion but laughter. They will always laugh no matter what emotion they feel.

    • @puffthepirate1528
      @puffthepirate1528  Рік тому +6

      I know. And I acknowledge that in the video. The “pretending” part applies to a ton of Wano characters cursed or not. Which is why I used pictures of Momo, Oden, and Udon prisoners. The smile curse literally mocking the brave faces of those who aren’t cursed. Sorry if that was unclear.

    As someone else has pointed out, momo means peach in Japanese. The dumplings depicted were gyoza; the dumplings called momo are from the area of Nepal, Bhutan and Tibet. Kibi means millet (kibi dango means millet dango). The names of the different territories of Wano reflect, through food-based specialties, different regions of Japan.

    Or maybe do the food of toriko though that wouldn't bring in views unless you get very lucky

    • @puffthepirate1528
      @puffthepirate1528  2 роки тому +2

      Toriko is the only other series I can imagine doing a video like this for. But seeing how Toriko is all about it’s food, I’d rather just recommend people read Toriko because it’s cool, instead of explaining the majority of it to people.
