Jerry turners yard is one of the coolest yards I ever been to . Been going to his place for over 10 years . I don't think he will ever sell that 57 hardtop it was his sons .
Jerry Turner is one of our elder Indian Motorcycle buddies and came to our annual Indian gatherings every year and even hosted some of them at his Bass Lake get away. He rides a short frame Chief and always wins the slow race at our field events . I enjoyed seeing him in this video and yes he is a very nice fellow.
You are spot on about Mr. Turner in the early 80’s I bought a 68 Gt Jr Alfa Romeo and Turner’s had a 69 GTV that I was buying parts when low and behold the car was gone!! The buyer left a business card so I called the number and 40 years later I’m still into Alfa’s and still have the best friendship with the buyer of that Alfa that was turned into a SCCA GT 4 race car that I helped with. Best years of my life for a 22 year old at the time. This episode sure brings back memories of his wrecking yard.
LOL.. Great to see Jerry.!!!! Every car collector in Cal knows Turners.!! Right off of hwy 99. I found an original 1969 GTO Judge RAIV in a Fresno truck junk yard in 1989.
Great show, wow, those type of aerial shots have added so much to almost every type of show, tremendous perspective on the property as it relates to its surroundings, seeing the farm fields butting up next to 70 acres of metal, absolutely awesome!
That place is awesome! you need to make a 90 minute episode on this one place. Also, I would love to see this show have 30-40+ minute episodes on the regular. Awesome show, I love it.
3:35 I owned a '78 Lancia Beta Coupe. It was a fun and unique car that drew a lot of attention. This is the first time I've seen one since I sold mine 33 years ago. Also, I bought Tom's first book through seller Motorbooks International in a magazine ad.
Jerry Turner has hundreds of classic cars and antique motorcycles that have been stashed for decades. Dozens of old Harleys, British bikes, and others. He was a good friend of my dad's.He lost a bunch of beautiful cars and motorcycles to a fire a few years ago. He told the fire dept. "let the house burn, but save those barns!"
Great video. My first car was a 57 Chevy Bel Air hardtop. Paid $150.00 for it in 79 running condition.. Then bought 2 more for parts cars. This video brought back some great memories...... Loved them cars .Heavy but a lot of fun.
I used to go there to Turner's back in the 80's when my 67 Firebird or 70.5 Camaro Z28 needed something. Jerry Turner not only sold parts, but he gave me some pointers I will never forget.
In regards to the 57 Chevy. You could have gotten a six, a v8 with a two barrel carb, or a v8 with a four barrel carb with dual exhaust which was known as a Power Pac. Then for extra an coast you could order a Chevy with a 245 HP Corvette engine with 2x4s, dual point dist., double diaphragm fuel pump and a stock cam and hydraulic lifters, or a 270 Corvette engine which was the same as the 245 engine except it had solid lifters with a high lift Duntov cam. You could also order a Fuel Injected Corvette engine. At the age of 18 I ordered a Bel-Air with the 245 then a year later installed the Duntov cam which I bought over the counter at the Chevy garage for $25. I paid $250 extra for the 245 engine when ordering the car. Took delivery on 24-May-1957. Sold the vehicle on 19-July 2015. A lot of great memories made in a historical time period.
Love the videos! I do the same thing in Southern California and recently uncovered an old 63 Impala, a 69 Mustang Mach 1 and a 57 fuel injected Chevy that was sitting in a barn for decades. Southern California is full of treasures. Good luck!
Wow,what a place that is,the owner sounds such a nice guy and not a dog in site !,people and places are dying out,and here in Englan are blighted with health and safety regulations and greedy beggers that would worry that youd steel a light bulb..He ought to advertise that place as a holiday destination,id love to spend a week out there just noseing around.Thats just so cool.
I want that mans job. I would absolutely kill for his job. Its be so cool to basically be able to see American car history and the amazing stories and people tied to them right in front of your very eyes. Amazi g
I know this is all pre-planned and setup in advance, but Tom's approach is exactly on target: Get up and find something that you can bring back This series makes internet TV worth watching.
Love it! Great series and awesome to see these barn finds. I loveeeed that '57 Chev near the end. Never got the answer if that was for sale or what he was asking for it...a real beaut! . Yes, Mr. Turner sure is a nice man and his prices were more than fair. He's certainly a breath of fresh air and others can learn a thing or two from him. Definitely subscribing to this channel. Even though I am not mechanically inclined, I do appreciate all the fine automobiles of yesteryear. They are beautiful, stylish and certainly made better than the cookie-cutter cars of today. Cheers from British Columbia, Canada :D
...Comment revision: After reading all the comments, I read that a guy who knows Jerry, said that the '57 Cevy was his son's car...and that it was not for sale. I can certainly appreciate and understand the sentimentality he has...sure is a GORGEOUS & fine automobile! :D
i love this series, after my own heart. who ever did the music for this series did a very good job, i like the slide guitar the best. as for the cars, i want them all. nothing can put a smile on your face , like stomping down on the pedal of a large cubic inch American muscle car .
Jerry was the nicest guy around. He had ne'er do well employees who he coaxed into being solid citizens. If one got drunk and failed to show up for work, Jerry would sit down the next day and quietly discuss how the ne'er-do-well's mother needed the income and how he needed to sober up and show up for work for the sake of mom. No yelling or screaming (that I ever saw), just quiet compassion for guys who were trying to do better under Jerry's tutelage. each employee was given a stripped down car (no hood, doors, trunklid) with a set of tools to search out the needed parts. I needed a drive shaft bearing for my 61 Cadillace and I remember Jerry telling his boys to fetch a "mid-ship" bearing for a 61. I usually got to ride out with the employee (Jerry kind of liked me). What a trip!
Great video series, I love seeing what he discovers. A small nit - a 352 is not a Y block, it is in the FE family. There was another video where Tom was looking at a Edsel that had a 400 and he made the same mistake. Not a biggy as many confuse the engine families. But Tom, if you read this, please note the difference. The Y blocks started in '54 and ended by '62 or 3. FEs started in '58 and went to '76, with the most famous engines being the 390, 427 side oiler, and 428.
Mr. B here ! I love what you do . Fining vehicles that have been given RIP ! Most people have no clue that they paid more for vehicles today that they will throw away , cause cost to maintain long term is to much , but higher price makes no sense to me . !
You didn,t ask him about the 57 Chevy? Back in the 80s buddy and I would drive around back roads and fields with our car trailer and drag these kind of cars home.Yes the good old days.lots of fun. Thanks for the video.
11:00 not special he says he should have looked at the miles on it. I have been in that hangar the Buick was crashed on a test drive and was left sitting at the dealer . If I remember it has like 200 miles on it.
My dad bought a 48 Jeepster in the 50s and we kept it in the family for 30 years. The flathead 4 was first replaced by a 312 Thunderbird V8, but it was just too much. So in went a 265 Chevy V8, and it was just right! Just as they said it was a great family car, convertible and fun. Notice the step in front of the rear fender, used to jump directly into the back seat. When we got to high school age, my older brother got the Jeepster, but it was OK cause I got the 58 Dodge short bed step side pickup my dad put the 318 V8 in. Had to put a 12" wide x 1/4" thick channel iron bumper on it to hold the rear end down, an epic bumper that got respect from tailgaiters!
Tom, I know that you're interested in VW's. and Pintos. I had a 1970 Pinto two door and one of the things that I found interesting is the fact that the distributor on the 2.0 LTR was the same as on the VW. When I bought points, rotor and cap, they were the same P/N as the VW. BTW, that engine was VERY strong. Shifted it when it wouldn't go any faster in that gear.
Jerry turner sold me a 1965 ss impala with a big block walnut chevy stock steering wheel complete car for $1000.00 cheap price ,good place to buy old cars an parts..... real talk ...
The 57 Chevrolet brings back old memories. That one is a carbon copy of my first car, color, body style, motor, & trans. I believe the color was called sierra gold and a power pack 283 was a 4 barrel, dual exhaust and bigger heads indicated by the triangle marking on the end of the head. A two barrel carb was the standard 283. The 2 four barrel motor was rated at 270 HP, the FI was rated at 283 HP. Don't remember the other HP ratings. Nice car and thanks for the memories.
This show is amazing. Hate that Hagerty insurance has such bad reviews. But Good to know they care enough about the cars, and the people to make this show.
Love your channel & love what you find, I'm drooling over many of these. If I was a single guy I'd love to travel & find these gems. I've owned 3 muscle cars in my 20's bought all new.
Jerry, My dad had what he said was a rare car for Washington state 65, 352 3on the the tree holly 650 double pumper and high speed rear end( His words, Not mine). It was wrecked when he saw it but the best body guy (When Sober) had it he did what they said couldn't be done he fixed it without filler. She was lemon yellow W/white roof and small baby moons
14:59 That blue sedan in the background is a 1956 Ford Fairlane Club Sedan. 4 door sedan. I rarely see these cars. Maybe they aren't that popular? But I really would like to own one someday.
I crashed a plane in Turner's back in the early 80's Jerry and I tried to hide it in the hangar before the FAA showed up (a concerned citizen called them) They got there just as we were pushing it in . i would pay to see a full length video of this place,, great owner and lots of cars there that are part of american history,,,,i have no desire to have a lamborghini in my driveway,,,i want 1/2 dozen of these cars,,, that olds wagon is a killer car and the sort of thing you see in movies like its a mad mad mad world. Great place Tom thanks
i went to turner auto wrecking i bought a continental kit for a 1956 chevy for 60 bucks. sold it 3 days later at good guys swap meet for 450 dollers. thanks turners
@13:00...It's a 1968. In 1967 the turn signal lights were round and in '68 they were rectangle. Not that we can see but, also in '67 they had vent windows and in '68 they didn't.
I’ve been to his place a number of times. Got many good parts for my 54 Chevy pickup. If you have the time and need for parts, make stop at Turner’s. Jerry is a nice guy and all the staff are great.
Great show I’ve been working in junkyards for 30 years seeing these cars going in and out getting crushed, bought, sold, striped. God help the love we have for restoring the lost beauty’s there is KeepTruckin to these finds Chevy II lover Boston Ma
if i were you i would have bought that ford truck on the spot for 25 hundred bucks. dream truck for most of us. i loved it. it as all there. that 57 had power steering on the back of the generator. that's an awesome place. he was nice
Amazing show, Tom truly is very knowledgable and you can tell that he really has been enthusiastic about what he does since the age of 12
I’m 37 and only just starting to appreciate the beauty of cars and trucks, thank you for the education :)
37? You're a late bloomer
Great show, thank you, and thanks Mr. Turner, it was nice of you to let us look around so thoroughly!
Jerry turners yard is one of the coolest yards I ever been to . Been going to his place for over 10 years . I don't think he will ever sell that 57 hardtop it was his sons .

I watch a boatload of youtube car shows and this one is easily up there with the the best..........great show
That place is awesome! you need to make a 90 minute episode on this one place. Also, I would love to see this show have 30-40+ minute episodes on the regular. Awesome show, I love it.

J Turner is a good guy to do business with. He keeps my old vehicle's on the road
Honest, that's the big deal with Jerry.

California Car Safari barns in SoCal ?? Damn bro I’m from Orange County never see cars in barns. You’re probably in like high desert or some thing

Be a pain in the ass to find parts I know, but that sounds like a steal!!
VengefulBatz I would deffinetly buy it but got no money for shipping to europe :(
That pickup has got to be gone by now. Awesome deal.
I wouldn't be surprised if he meant $25,000.
@SouthernKudzu shipping to ga in a little less that 1k.
All day id sell one of my trucks for that project anyday 2500 hah

Another great episode, and this is where Finnegan and Freiburger fixed up Pigpen!

This is by far the best episode, let’s revisit this place,

He didn't ask Jerry about the copper Bel Air! The best car on the lot in my opinion.
We did ask him, but it belongs to his daughter and isn't for sale.
Ah shucks. but thanks for sharing
+Eric A 5:10 there also happens to be a CRT TV in the garage
It must of damigd evryware!!!

That was an awesome car hunting video and your right; Mr. Turner was reasonable in his pricing and easy to talk to.
Mr. B here ! I love what you do . Fining vehicles that have been given RIP ! Most people have no clue that they paid more for vehicles today that they will throw away , cause cost to maintain long term is to much , but higher price makes no sense to me . !

WOW Turner's looks GREAT!!
The real treasure you found is Turner himself.
For sure. Use to go out there with Corky Fortney when I worked for their shop in Fresno.

Jimmy Spitz racist
Looks like someone deleted a comment here...
My buddy bought a 62 impala convertible. He got a couple of pages in lowrider magazine.
This is my new favorite show.
The 57 Chevrolet brings back old memories. That one is a carbon copy of my first car, color, body style, motor, & trans. I have been there & done that.
A definite Like. I wish some more of this Barn finder guy would appear on this screen. More coool strange old cars Please !
the '57 chevy didn't have power brakes but it DID have power steering!!!
in my opinion, the best car ever made!!!
same place roadkill pulled a1950 gmc out of
Great Great show.
I love cars and finding them in this way. I found a few beauties like this up way north in northern Montana last month.
Dat ending ROCKED
I'm drooling over that '65 Galaxie.
I'm a first timer on this show and well I love it
The aerial drone shots add a lot to these episodes. Love 'em.
That place is Huge!!! We no longer have big yards like that here now because of real estate prices rising beyond sane levels.
This show makes me smile. Any schedule for the upcoming episodes? Anyone knows?
I might be the only one here, but I would want the '65 Ford Galaxie 500 LTD
I wouldn’t want to fill the gas tank very often, but it’s a sweet car.
I had a red 66 500, 390 and I still miss it!😫😢
me too here in australia, we had falcon 2 doors here but galaxies only in 4 dr
Rick Los Angeles my first car, ‘65 Galaxie XL 500 ragtop
Far from ideal but yes I would like it too. But in the wrong country.
my mom had a 57 Chevy two door with the rubber tips on the bumper. it was blue that faded to light blue. it was nice.
I currently own a 66' ford Galaxy 500 2 door! so I got excited when he showed the other one! I feel like galaxies are very overlooked
She was lemon yellow W/white roof and small baby moons
my only problem with this video is that it's way to short. i dont have youtube A.D.D and would enjoy more footage
14:59 That blue sedan in the background is a 1956 Ford Fairlane Club Sedan. 4 door sedan. I rarely see these cars. Maybe they aren't that popular? But I really would like to own one someday.
Wait. Isn't turners auto wrecking where the roadkill guys bought pigpen?
sure is
When you were dropping that windshield my heart stopped beating.
I was literally drooling over this. Thank you for sharing. I would be a great place to find parts for my 68 Ford Fairlane formal top.
I crashed a plane in Turner's back in the early 80's Jerry and I tried to hide it in the hangar before the FAA showed up (a concerned citizen called them) They got there just as we were pushing it in . Years later I told my daughter that I hit a Studebaker with my plane and she asked "what was a Studebaker doing up in the air?"
Barn finds are getting rare, especially with the internet.
shut up.
I agree with "b".
Bar find to who? obviously the owner knows where it is.
They are out there still. Loved the episode...now to find a '74 Buick Apollo parts car at Jerry's :D
i would pay to see a full length video of this place,, great owner and lots of cars there that are part of american history,,,,i have no desire to have a lamborghini in my driveway,,,i want 1/2 dozen of these cars,,, that olds wagon is a killer car and the sort of thing you see in movies like its a mad mad mad world. Great place Tom thanks
that's a gorgeous woody wagon you have, I'm going to find and restore barn finds so I'll be here for a while
Great series, I always look forward to it.
The music on this episode is better than any other episode I’ve seen.
i went to turner auto wrecking i bought a continental kit for a 1956 chevy for 60 bucks. sold it 3 days later at good guys swap meet for 450 dollers. thanks turners
Great show, amazing the knowledge and fair advise the presenter offers.... Will follow for sure...
That Model T Truck is worth way more then that in that condition!
Model Ts aren't that expensive, they made almost a million of them, but yeah 2500 is still pretty low.
Shh. don't type so loud.
cody McDowell, Ford made 15 million Model T's in the car's 19 year production run.
In that condition if it is complete it is worth 3-5K. Restored they are only worth around 25-35K though... :(
It might have all kinds of problems.
At 9:48 on hood of jeepster are 3 55-56 chevy dashs and 56 chevy front accessory bumper guards AND a fender bird,RARE!
That Ford truck is a steal. Also, what kind of car are you driving. Thanks for these cool videos.
Thank you for Watching! Tom's driving his barn find 1939 Ford Woody, which he purchased when he was 15.
That's a sweet car. Thanks.
i want that 57 !!!!!!
The 27 T-bucket is worth $25,000, not $2500. I'm pretty sure he snapped that one up.
I sure hoped he did!
Aztec Bronze 57 - ultimate street machine of the '60's.
1:58 i think he meant to say Ford FE engine series because the Y-block series stopped in about 61' 62'

@13:00...It's a 1968. In 1967 the turn signal lights were round and in '68 they were rectangle. Not that we can see but, also in '67 they had vent windows and in '68 they didn't.
So great and awesome and great, again!!
Nice one! The Belair 😍😍😍 and the Galaxy 👍👍👍
This show should be on TV
I’ve been to his place a number of times. Got many good parts for my 54 Chevy pickup. If you have the time and need for parts, make stop at Turner’s. Jerry is a nice guy and all the staff are great.
Where is Jerry's place at? would love to go there.

The Camaro was a 68, you can tell by the inner headlights, which were rectangular meaning it's a 68, 67 had round ones.
Great show I’ve been working in junkyards for 30 years seeing these cars going in and out getting crushed, bought, sold, striped. God help the love we have for restoring the lost beauty’s there is KeepTruckin to these finds Chevy II lover Boston Ma
Good eye. I thought the same thing. I had a 67 a few years ago. The 67’s also had a wing window where the 68’s didn’t.
That lancia Beta is pretty cool!
