I crashed a plane in Turner's back in the early 80's Jerry and I tried to hide it in the hangar before the FAA showed up (a concerned citizen called them) They got there just as we were pushing it in . Years later I told my daughter that I hit a Studebaker with my plane and she asked "what was a Studebaker doing up in the air?"
I remember a place in northern Michigan where there was a lot of old tin going back to the 30s and 40s but like none of it was for sale. They were just sitting on it. Then one day the people in nearby town changed a lot of their zoning and they had to get rid of it all in very short time. I don’t know what became of it all. Sometimes sitting on it doesn’t pay off
when you find rare cars like in this episode and the owner said he would sell, do you buy any your self or let someone in the industry know so they can buy them? thanks...
10:41 This yard is huge! land an airplane down the middle.... 3:17 that's a 69 Caddy back there, one a the coolest cars i ever owned slammed coupe deville in flat-black w/hi comp 472 :) 2.5k for that old T sold!
Jerry turners yard is one of the coolest yards I ever been to . Been going to his place for over 10 years . I don't think he will ever sell that 57 hardtop it was his sons .
LOL.. Great to see Jerry.!!!! Every car collector in Cal knows Turners.!! Right off of hwy 99. I found an original 1969 GTO Judge RAIV in a Fresno truck junk yard in 1989.
In regards to the 57 Chevy. You could have gotten a six, a v8 with a two barrel carb, or a v8 with a four barrel carb with dual exhaust which was known as a Power Pac. Then for extra an coast you could order a Chevy with a 245 HP Corvette engine with 2x4s, dual point dist., double diaphragm fuel pump and a stock cam and hydraulic lifters, or a 270 Corvette engine which was the same as the 245 engine except it had solid lifters with a high lift Duntov cam. You could also order a Fuel Injected Corvette engine. At the age of 18 I ordered a Bel-Air with the 245 then a year later installed the Duntov cam which I bought over the counter at the Chevy garage for $25. I paid $250 extra for the 245 engine when ordering the car. Took delivery on 24-May-1957. Sold the vehicle on 19-July 2015. A lot of great memories made in a historical time period.
Jerry turner sold me a 1965 ss impala with a big block walnut chevy stock steering wheel complete car for $1000.00 cheap price ,good place to buy old cars an parts..... real talk ...
11:00 not special he says he should have looked at the miles on it. I have been in that hangar the Buick was crashed on a test drive and was left sitting at the dealer . If I remember it has like 200 miles on it.
I know this is all pre-planned and setup in advance, but Tom's approach is exactly on target: Get up and find something that you can bring back This series makes internet TV worth watching.
Jerry Turner is one of our elder Indian Motorcycle buddies and came to our annual Indian gatherings every year and even hosted some of them at his Bass Lake get away. He rides a short frame Chief and always wins the slow race at our field events . I enjoyed seeing him in this video and yes he is a very nice fellow.
You are spot on about Mr. Turner in the early 80’s I bought a 68 Gt Jr Alfa Romeo and Turner’s had a 69 GTV that I was buying parts when low and behold the car was gone!! The buyer left a business card so I called the number and 40 years later I’m still into Alfa’s and still have the best friendship with the buyer of that Alfa that was turned into a SCCA GT 4 race car that I helped with. Best years of my life for a 22 year old at the time. This episode sure brings back memories of his wrecking yard.
Jerry was the nicest guy around. He had ne'er do well employees who he coaxed into being solid citizens. If one got drunk and failed to show up for work, Jerry would sit down the next day and quietly discuss how the ne'er-do-well's mother needed the income and how he needed to sober up and show up for work for the sake of mom. No yelling or screaming (that I ever saw), just quiet compassion for guys who were trying to do better under Jerry's tutelage. each employee was given a stripped down car (no hood, doors, trunklid) with a set of tools to search out the needed parts. I needed a drive shaft bearing for my 61 Cadillace and I remember Jerry telling his boys to fetch a "mid-ship" bearing for a 61. I usually got to ride out with the employee (Jerry kind of liked me). What a trip!
Jerry Turner has hundreds of classic cars and antique motorcycles that have been stashed for decades. Dozens of old Harleys, British bikes, and others. He was a good friend of my dad's.He lost a bunch of beautiful cars and motorcycles to a fire a few years ago. He told the fire dept. "let the house burn, but save those barns!"
14:59 That blue sedan in the background is a 1956 Ford Fairlane Club Sedan. 4 door sedan. I rarely see these cars. Maybe they aren't that popular? But I really would like to own one someday.
That place is awesome! you need to make a 90 minute episode on this one place. Also, I would love to see this show have 30-40+ minute episodes on the regular. Awesome show, I love it.
3:35 I owned a '78 Lancia Beta Coupe. It was a fun and unique car that drew a lot of attention. This is the first time I've seen one since I sold mine 33 years ago. Also, I bought Tom's first book through seller Motorbooks International in a magazine ad.
Love it! Great series and awesome to see these barn finds. I loveeeed that '57 Chev near the end. Never got the answer if that was for sale or what he was asking for it...a real beaut! . Yes, Mr. Turner sure is a nice man and his prices were more than fair. He's certainly a breath of fresh air and others can learn a thing or two from him. Definitely subscribing to this channel. Even though I am not mechanically inclined, I do appreciate all the fine automobiles of yesteryear. They are beautiful, stylish and certainly made better than the cookie-cutter cars of today. Cheers from British Columbia, Canada :D
...Comment revision: After reading all the comments, I read that a guy who knows Jerry, said that the '57 Cevy was his son's car...and that it was not for sale. I can certainly appreciate and understand the sentimentality he has...sure is a GORGEOUS & fine automobile! :D
Hate it when someone in these type shows act like they are finding something that they don't know about ,they open a door and guess what there is a guy with a camera shooting from the inside toward the guy that just Opened the Fucking Door !! All these shows are Nothing but Scams !!
Wow,what a place that is,the owner sounds such a nice guy and not a dog in site !,people and places are dying out,and here in Englan are blighted with health and safety regulations and greedy beggers that would worry that youd steel a light bulb..He ought to advertise that place as a holiday destination,id love to spend a week out there just noseing around.Thats just so cool.
Love the videos! I do the same thing in Southern California and recently uncovered an old 63 Impala, a 69 Mustang Mach 1 and a 57 fuel injected Chevy that was sitting in a barn for decades. Southern California is full of treasures. Good luck!
so finally a junk eccentric that will actually sell his cars an at reasonable prices and wouldn't u know it...the buyer wasnt there to buy....oh my god
as a15yr old workingsummer vaction cutting grass i made enough to pay 100.$$ 4 a 1931 dodge my dad went nuts when he can in from work and saw it got runing with new points & minor things pumpman/mechanic paid me 750.00 4 it 5 daz later. first car at 16 in tha bank
Great show, wow, those type of aerial shots have added so much to almost every type of show, tremendous perspective on the property as it relates to its surroundings, seeing the farm fields butting up next to 70 acres of metal, absolutely awesome!
Great show I’ve been working in junkyards for 30 years seeing these cars going in and out getting crushed, bought, sold, striped. God help the love we have for restoring the lost beauty’s there is KeepTruckin to these finds Chevy II lover Boston Ma
I wonder what happened to the 57 Chevy ?, these old cars were still rare 20 years ago, in small towns across the nation, but lately they're really being depleted and bought up.
They need to make old car shaped mouse traps as nothing works better to attract a mouse, heck my neighborhood junkyard has a mouse real estate agent for the lot, does pretty well for himself. do better if he changed the name from Katz realty
Very knowledgeable, except for comparing the Willys Jeepster to T-birds and Corvettes, since they hadn't even been thought of when these cars came out..........................
i went to turner auto wrecking i bought a continental kit for a 1956 chevy for 60 bucks. sold it 3 days later at good guys swap meet for 450 dollers. thanks turners
This show is amazing. Hate that Hagerty insurance has such bad reviews. But Good to know they care enough about the cars, and the people to make this show.
Shell commercial! Hey... I noticed on the left coast, you don't have gasoline. You have ''motor fuel'' with ethanol. You know...the stuff that rots your hoses, mixes with water, and generally tears up your cars and equipment......that you PAY the government to put in your gas. In Oklahoma (fly over country, and generally noted for being back woods idiots) we have a choice...motor fuel or GAS...real 100% gas. Because if legislation was passed to eliminate gas....all us ''good old boys'' would get our rif......well, I can't say on a public forum.....but...yeah. It would be tragic....or in real , common sense, logical terms.... GREAT. But alas there is no common sense or logic in America any longer. And...you can't buy it at shell gas stations. Love your barn find episodes though.
Great video. My first car was a 57 Chevy Bel Air hardtop. Paid $150.00 for it in 79 running condition.. Then bought 2 more for parts cars. This video brought back some great memories...... Loved them cars .Heavy but a lot of fun.
15 :02 The average American is very honest and is a happy experience to co-operate with him But they who run junkyards (i suppose) have bad experience so they little suspicious so please not be tough with them
@8:27... A typical mistake... It's not pronounced "Willee's"... It's pronounced "Willis"; after the Founder, John North Willys. Willys built fine touring cars, before WW-II. At the outbreak of WW-II, the US Army needed a "Light Scout Vehicle". Willys, Ford, and Bantam American entered the contest. Bantam american won the design for the "1/4 Ton 4x4", but couldn't produce the numbers the Army needed... So, the contract was awarded to Willys-Overland (and Ford was contracted to build GPW's). Bantam American was relegated to building trailers, which were pulled behind the Willys MB's, and Ford GPW's.
Knowing what some classic cars would be worth in the future when they were purchased new would be better than having the almanac in the Back to the Future movie!!!!
2:47...That white "CAN'T FIX STUPID" Oldsmobile station wagon was my father's Oldsmobile! Although his was light green in color. You did not mention the year (1962). Dad bought his used during the late '60's with plans to take the family on trips. But it proved to be a lemon for him as we never went on any long trips in it. I remember him working on the engine on it a lot. But even after all that engine work, it still was a problem child. 1962 Oldsmobiles are recognizable by their peculiar front fender nacelles. Unfortunately, you also did not show the front end of that car so that UA-camLand could see what I'm talking about. Oh well, just google "1962 Oldsmobile" images.
1968 Camaro, not a 1967, 352 c.i.d. is not a Y block, power pack was not dual 4 barrels, But then again what do you expect from these predators that only see dollar signs anyway.
This show should be on TV
That was an awesome car hunting video and your right; Mr. Turner was reasonable in his pricing and easy to talk to.
Barn finds are getting rare, especially with the internet.
shut up.
I agree with "b".
Bar find to who? obviously the owner knows where it is.
Great Great show.
I love cars and finding them in this way. I found a few beauties like this up way north in northern Montana last month.
Once all these vehicles are shown to the media, consider them all picked over.
I saw my dream cars - the 66 Charger and the 57 Chevy.
Sometimes sitting on it doesn’t pay off
I love the crackslist dreamer valuations. Keep dreamin' flippers.
the 352 wasnt a y block engine , it was the beginning of the fe series engines like the 390 and 406 and the 427 , not a y block
Ron....don't break that glass, lol
68 Camaro - square signal (67 was round), also 68 lost the wind wings....
Nice show and nice car and nice guy I like it👌🏽
when they found that car it reminded me of the movie christened
when you find rare cars like in this episode and the owner said he would sell, do you buy any your self or let someone in the industry know so they can buy them? thanks...

I was just looking for that info! Who bought it and where is it going. I'd love to follow that restoration.
Sorry the 34 ford is not for sale. I'm going let it sit for another 80 some odd years. I think that a better option. SAD!
I will like to buy the Jeepster what the price?
$2500 for the roadster pick up?!???
Be a pain in the ass to find parts I know, but that sounds like a steal!!
VengefulBatz I would deffinetly buy it but got no money for shipping to europe :(
That pickup has got to be gone by now. Awesome deal.
I wouldn't be surprised if he meant $25,000.
@SouthernKudzu shipping to ga in a little less that 1k.
All day id sell one of my trucks for that project anyday 2500 hah
Jerry turners yard is one of the coolest yards I ever been to . Been going to his place for over 10 years . I don't think he will ever sell that 57 hardtop it was his sons .
I hate this show. Not because it's bad, but because I don't have enough money to buy and restore a lot of these cars. Lmao!
+Daniel Collins Amen to that one !!!
poor dear ;)
true...these cars are just waiting...i wish that i could afford one or two..just a dream dont mind me.

LOL.. Great to see Jerry.!!!! Every car collector in Cal knows Turners.!! Right off of hwy 99. I found an original 1969 GTO Judge RAIV in a Fresno truck junk yard in 1989.
The real treasure you found is Turner himself.
For sure. Use to go out there with Corky Fortney when I worked for their shop in Fresno.
same place roadkill pulled a1950 gmc out of
Wait. Isn't turners auto wrecking where the roadkill guys bought pigpen?
sure is

STOP CLOSING THE DOOR BY THE WINDOW! You should know better.
Amazing show, Tom truly is very knowledgable and you can tell that he really has been enthusiastic about what he does since the age of 12
Jerry turner sold me a 1965 ss impala with a big block walnut chevy stock steering wheel complete car for $1000.00 cheap price ,good place to buy old cars an parts..... real talk ...
Was that really necessary

Looks like someone deleted a comment here...
My buddy bought a 62 impala convertible. He got a couple of pages in lowrider magazine.
I might be the only one here, but I would want the '65 Ford Galaxie 500 LTD
I wouldn’t want to fill the gas tank very often, but it’s a sweet car.
I had a red 66 500, 390 and I still miss it!😫😢
me too here in australia, we had falcon 2 doors here but galaxies only in 4 dr
Rick Los Angeles my first car, ‘65 Galaxie XL 500 ragtop
Far from ideal but yes I would like it too. But in the wrong country.
Roadkill anyone?
yes
yea
MINT!
Yeah
That's what I thought when I saw the galaxie
11:00 not special he says he should have looked at the miles on it. I have been in that hangar the Buick was crashed on a test drive and was left sitting at the dealer . If I remember it has like 200 miles on it.
He didn't ask Jerry about the copper Bel Air! The best car on the lot in my opinion.
We did ask him, but it belongs to his daughter and isn't for sale.
Ah shucks. but thanks for sharing
+Eric A 5:10 there also happens to be a CRT TV in the garage
It must of damigd evryware!!!

Great show, thank you, and thanks Mr. Turner, it was nice of you to let us look around so thoroughly!
So much want in one place. Who needs a house? You could probably live in that 57 chevy while restoring it...easily.

This series makes internet TV worth watching.
William Large j)Jeep
damn the 1927 Roadster pickup for $2,500 that was a steal
my only problem with this video is that it's way to short. i dont have youtube A.D.D and would enjoy more footage
great series, pleasure to watch
You Americans has the best junkyards...I also want to play there but its a bit far from Germany....
Come to live in the US, friend. It's the best place on Earth!
I'd have come right back with a trailer for that 27 Ford pickup if in fact it could be had for $2500.

That Ford truck is a steal. Also, what kind of car are you driving. Thanks for these cool videos.
Thank you for Watching! Tom's driving his barn find 1939 Ford Woody, which he purchased when he was 15.
That's a sweet car. Thanks.
i want that 57 !!!!!!
The 27 T-bucket is worth $25,000, not $2500. I'm pretty sure he snapped that one up.
I sure hoped he did!
I’m 37 and only just starting to appreciate the beauty of cars and trucks, thank you for the education :)
37? You're a late bloomer
That Model T Truck is worth way more then that in that condition!
Model Ts aren't that expensive, they made almost a million of them, but yeah 2500 is still pretty low.
Shh. don't type so loud.
cody McDowell, Ford made 15 million Model T's in the car's 19 year production run.
In that condition if it is complete it is worth 3-5K. Restored they are only worth around 25-35K though... :(
It might have all kinds of problems.
That place is awesome! you need to make a 90 minute episode on this one place. Also, I would love to see this show have 30-40+ minute episodes on the regular. Awesome show, I love it.

koobick inch? I can't watch this video.
Mr. Turner tried for a long time to have a Nascar worthy race track built on that land, the good ol city of Fresno, wasn't having it .
WOW, WOW ,WOW !!!!! I have to get out there and grab me something soon.
I watch a boatload of youtube car shows and this one is easily up there with the the best..........great show
J Turner is a good guy to do business with. He keeps my old vehicle's on the road
Honest, that's the big deal with Jerry.
I can't believe old man tuner is still around.
Seeing these cars is very interesting, but would be better to see someone actually put them back on the road.
Where is this place? It'd be great to go there with $100,000 and a 40ft shipping container and bring some gems back to Australia with parts.
It's in Central California. Just right in between LA and Sacramento
My man here HATES window pillars
as a15yr old workingsummer vaction cutting grass i made enough to pay 100.$$ 4 a 1931 dodge my dad went nuts when he can in from work and saw it got runing with new points & minor things pumpman/mechanic paid me 750.00 4 it 5 daz later. first car at 16 in tha bank

The Camaro was a 68, you can tell by the inner headlights, which were rectangular meaning it's a 68, 67 had round ones.

Jerry is a cool dude, would pay 2500.00 for that 1/4 ton any day!!! Would be 10000.00 plus in Canada.
Very knowledgeable, except for comparing the Willys Jeepster to T-birds and Corvettes, since they hadn't even been thought of when these cars came out..........................
Turner Auto Wrecking is the shiznit of salvage yards
The 1967 Camaro has wing windows, the 1968 does not.
i went to turner auto wrecking i bought a continental kit for a 1956 chevy for 60 bucks. sold it 3 days later at good guys swap meet for 450 dollers. thanks turners
did the owner of the 1957 Chevy tell you his/her asking price and if so how much and contact information please and thank you.
You missed the now ultra rare American Racing S-200 mag wheels to the left in front of the "jeep barn".
They are quite pricey these days.
5:40 I was like oh crap he almost broke americas rarest windshield
Is this Jackson Husky Adam Meinke?

Turners auto wrecking is where roadkill got pigpen
the '57 chevy didn't have power brakes but it DID have power steering!!!
in my opinion, the best car ever made!!!
That galaxie, man. Should be saved. I'm sad now.
Great video. My first car was a 57 Chevy Bel Air hardtop. Paid $150.00 for it in 79 running condition.. Then bought 2 more for parts cars. This video brought back some great memories...... Loved them cars .Heavy but a lot of fun.

914 Porsche right at the end...14.56...amazing place and seems pricing is fairly realistic.
Knowing what some classic cars would be worth in the future when they were purchased new would be better than having the almanac in the Back to the Future movie!!!!
The white ford car is a 1965 ford galaxy 500 LTD two door hardtop
That place is Huge!!! We no longer have big yards like that here now because of real estate prices rising beyond sane levels.
1968 Camaro, not a 1967, 352 c.i.d. is not a Y block, power pack was not dual 4 barrels, But then again what do you expect from these predators that only see dollar signs anyway.
