This was probably the first time in like 15 years a UA-cam video actually solved my problem the first try. I don't know who you are man, but a heartfelt thank you. This was frustating the shit out of me!
lol u aint lying tho
Thank you very much! I bought an rtx 3060 and ran into this problem! My obs used 50% of the encoder in idle! I suffered for a whole week until I found your video! Before that, I was streaming on 1060 and there were no such problems! Dude, thanks a lot again! You're my hero!
Thank you so much!! I was strugling so hard with over 60% GPU on twitch studio and now I get 15% FIXED. Your a king bro :)
dude you saved my bacon my friend! Did it live on stream and everything (expecting it to kill OBS again), but it worked like a charm! You are my GOAT! ❤
Ctrl + Shift + Esc is a nice and fast shortcut to get to task manager, and you can do it with one hand too. Just thought I'd mention that as it's a pretty old school trick for windows.
Thanks for sharing your fix for OBS 😊
Thank you !!!
Bro i have an GTX 1080 ti and i have an really creepy issue whenever I start playing any game it crashes after 5/10 minutes and there is different error for different game some show gfx for gta 5 and etc and i have 5600G processor and a 550 W bronze 80+ PSU can you please help me
oh what the hell, this actually worked !! so i've been streaming genshin using obs bc of the livestream event (you get rewards for streaming) and i noticed my game lags (or frame drop? idk what the term is) a lot whilst doing so and looking at the task manager my obs takes up a lot of the gpu which was just frustrating T_T i am so glad to have come across this video, it really worked. thanks so much!
Thanks a lot! Your way helped me.
3060ti User , Thankyou Much Dude Appreciated , Dropped Usage From 60% to 28% , Worked Like A Charm.
Thank you! I was noticing some horrible lag while Streaming only a few hours ago, and made a note to look into things post Stream. Can't believe my 1st fix attempt LEGIT helped. Like, holy shit! Super simple and TREMENDOUSLY helpful!
me sirvió, estaba buscando en español el tutorial pero no encontraba, ahora por fin mi PC y el OBS va bien, muchas gracias
Thanks so much for this video bro!!, it was driving me crazy!!!
glad to help 😁
Thanks for sharing!!! Now my GPU fans can rest with idle OBS
You are my bro, thanks a bunch!
So will this fix my issue of frame rates decreasing?
I've been using the Elgato 4K60 S+, and it records well in OBS. However my frame rate drops to about 50fps - 45fps sometimes. My Nvidia Geforce RTX 3090 TI has been running at about 75% to 85% when this happens. It even happens at 65%, after making changes.
Sorry for late reply but this should help . There could be a lot of other issues aswell though includeing bitrate , single streaming /gaming set up and lots more
Did you ever fix the problem?
@ABadPassword To be honest, I think I did all I could. I think it's just how my monitor is designed. It can run games at 60 HZ, but it doesn't have all the features that are on a gaming monitor. The max refresh rate is 60 HZ.
I watched a UA-cam video on Shirrako's channel. Where they played Nioh or Nioh 2. I can't remember which game, and I noticed they had a similar issue with their gameplay. Maybe it might just be the game, because so much is going on screen at once.
@@knixxtech thank you.
Bro, seriously, I loved your video. You saved my day. I never comment on UA-cam videos, but I'm so grateful that I wanted to say it.
thanks man... thats the first solution that worked for me... i got so many 3D usage while i'm streaming.. my 3D rendering was everytime at 100% with an 3080TI on a good quality streaming setup...
but just since one update.... but i'm not shure if it was a windows update a obs update or both or something else...
I tryed so many solutions, nothing workt... i worked on this issue since 3 weeks every day....
it was so heavy, that i could stream, play and watch my own stream via the Dashboard....
I have currently (with game, stream, and YT + Twitch running) only 30% GPU usage... i think thats okay....
OBS use 24 to 34% but uses now the Encoders not the 3d renderings....
I think, it was anykind of Nvidia Driver Update that broken the settings....
Thank you a lot for this tip!
Same Bro❤❤❤
2024 thanks sir helped reduce the fan noise ect usage is now on 15% using rtx 3050
Thanks. On my new laptop I couldn't figure out why the heck my GPU was maxing out only the 3d settings. I didn't have a NVDIA GPU but realized I never set the global power profile to Maximum Performance... *face palm* thanks for leading me down the road to a solution .
You Sir.....Are a God !!...........ive been trying EVERYTHING FOR WEEKS !! to fix this , every fix did not work , this is the only fix , thank you for this video indeed.
Forgive my English, it is not my native language. This tip is perfect for taking better advantage of my old GTX970, which I want to take care of all the OBS encoding, that way my Ryzen 5 2600 CPU and RX580 GPU can make them take better advantage of their gaming potential.
This has help, I also use it allot for all games but never think about doing it for OBS - I'm running GTX 1660TI myself and before I seen OBS around 25% on idle and also GPU was at 30% with no game running just OBS. WIth this setting deleted the full GPU is now running at 11% with just OBS running and not streaming, that's 15% drop
untill I start streaming it jumps to 30% again
@@Empire24453 30 percent is good for streaming , streaming will always raise your gpu usage depending on your settings
RTX 3080 TI here. For me the default was normal, after setting it to "Prefer max. performance" CPU usage and temperature increased.
This actually might be it because I change some settings for a different game. Then I noticed all the sudden OBS used 50% of my GPU? Going to try this right away!
Buddy YOU are the BEST
This did work for me was getting recently 35% usage
Got me down to 8%
LUL
agradecida.
it helped max about to 35 % better than 50 % and more ty
I Wish God Give You All Happiness❤❤
It's Really Work🎉
Thanks Bro😉
thanks dude
you are the best bro)
Saved my life
bro i dont know who you ... THX BROOOOOOOOO ))) i use tranlaste sorry for me english)). this problem after the settings use on maximum , disappeared ) 30% it was and now 3% ) thx)
this made my GPU usage using a 2060 Super from 60% to 95% not even playing a video game
Sounds like a driver issue did you update recently
@@knixxtech I did a NVIDIA driver update yesterday. But when I do that power management fix it makes my GPU usage go up, when I turn it off it goes back down. Very odd because its helped so many others
@@deno2566 iagree it is weird just remember whenever dealing with technology, alot of time different issues cause the same outcome , alot of fixing problems is trial and error, just because this outcome didnt work doesnt mean the next solution wont,
in terms what this solution is fixing is a strong GPU essentially going to sleep to conserve power on applications where it thinks it wont need its full strength in terms using more gpu because half of it is non existant (sleeping)
your issue could be caused by graphic drivers , if your only encountering this issue in OBS it could also be a scene or source that is causeing this or a setting such as the encoder.
Nope, didn't work. I did exactly what you did and nothing changed. The second I pulled up OBS , my gpu usage went from 25% to 99%. Video is super laggy and choppy. I need a fix please! I have a top of the line system. R9 5950x and a 3080ti. I shouldn't have this problem with this class of gear.
DId you find a fix. Similuar issue, didn't work
@Misherop_Tur oddly enough, I did. I have multiple monitors, all rated at 165hrz. The monitor I have obs on I dropped down to 60hrz, and it works perfectly.
@@unknownorigin01awesome. Sadly that is not my issue. I am moving soon so I have to take my laptop instead of my pc.
Laptop is pretty good 3080 and ryzen 9 . Asus zephyrus G15 2021 503QS.
But OBS ususes too much of gpu when using same settings as my pc(3070 ) Nvenc encoding.
@@Misherop_Tur Bro then use nvidia shadowplay
W video
mine was already set this way RIP
Same 😂
