cuz the writers like it. There is no deeper meaning there is nothing else going on, it's a running gag they have. Every long running cartoon has these. Is it really so baffling to believe that the same group of writers on the same show for the same first few seasons, whose job it is to write jokes, happen to find one they that think is really funny and stick with it.
9:43 some thing I don’t think you bring up is the fact that first off characters can survive these things. We see this and dying for pie when Squidward after taking a point blank hi to the face says ouch. And if there was no continuity, how could sandy and SpongeBob know each other because they met in an episode same with plankton and pearl . Mermaid man and barnacle boy.
@@logamuffin3876 there are multiple episodes in the show that share continuity with other episodes and directly brings up other episodes. This has happened scince season 2 so you are wrong about there being no continuity (this would be loose continuity though which still makes stuff including the whole show pretty unlikely).
His video introduced a new interesting idea. Your video does nothing. You're literally going through each piece of evidence and pointing out the simplest explanation for what's going on. While not realizing that the simplest explanation is what everybody already has thought of themselves, and therefore doesn't need a video to explain it. No one is denying your explanations are good or make sense. The skin theory video is pointing out a common thread between various scenes which many people may not have noticed before. In other words, it was a video worth making unlike this one.
This video itself presents a good point on the ridiculousness of this entirety of this theory and how everyone fell for it and is taking it unnecessarily seriously. Also people have noticed the weird trend about the skin in SpongeBob before hence why this dumb theory exists in the first place and the instances often presented in "proving" skin theory aren't meant to be taken seriously. Also this "new interesting idea" has paved the way for more ridiculous theories that are taken too seriously and aren't critically examined for just how bad and flawed they really are in other words they've done damage to sensible theory-crafting and no one seems to care and call out how bad they actually are.
While yes it’s far fetched, why are there sooooooo many gags within the show about the characters ripping off there skin or wearing a suit.

The new Friendiversary, plus kamp koral makes the no continuity thing confusing.

Salmon are fresh water fish, aren't they?
They migrate in salt water IIRC.
it's a show within a show like what family Guy is
what about the head enhancement clinic and that other fish that was several fish like a Russian nesting doll that broke because of a bad smell
That was a one-off gag it didn't mean anything at all. It is never mentioned again.
I want a skin theory about Sam and Max, in the 3 episode, sam litterally wear an hamster body, alive and willing hamster.

Made the whole video not fun.

Skin theory > everything
Bro why are u so mad its not that deep
This theory and those stupid Alex Bale theories have done massive damage to sensible theory-crafting by having everything have a dark twist to it.
