That explains why Patrick and Spongebob used forts, armies, jets, tanks, and even mechs while at the beach. Also makes sense how they easily picked up on how to fight using military equipment in the Sponge Out Of Water movie

I never got into SpongeBob probably because I was in my late 30s, early 40s when he came out. I am a Marine Corps veteran from the early 90s. This video is on point.
@@RobertHook-m7j Sorry for the late reply, yes I was in the Gulf War, Desert Storm. Funny story, I wanted to be a Marine since I was 13yrs old. That was during the Ronald Reagan years, Chuck Norris and G.I. Joe. It was peace time in the world over all. On my one year anniversary of joining the Marines and on 20th Bday. I landed in Saudi Arabia. I was shocked.
It's actually scary how these theories, despite the fact they may sound weird, can make so much sense by just re-watching the episodeos with a different light
only "makes sense" if u have the iq of a snail. the dude uses the weakest "evidences" to support his theory and y'all just lap it up. literally anything he can use no matter how small he'll automatically attribute it to the military or ptsd. Like I mean "trust"? that's your evidence? we gonna act like trust doesn't exist in literally any other realm or field in life?
I had never thought SpongeBob to be a serviceman, but Patrick on the other hand makes total sense. Patrick doesn't have a job yet he's able to pay for things and live comfortably. He said himself that he knows a lot about head injuries which implies that he's been wounded in battle (perhaps many times) therefore giving him a purple heart(s) and thus giving him income from the military. He's also aware of the battle of Bikini Bottom, which though he was wrong about the reason for it, it's possible he was involved in the fighting. Now it could be that the battle took place years ago taking fact that the military attire seemed like 1800s uniforms, it could still imply that Patrick is knowledgeable in military history.
Perhaps he was kinda bad at war, why he'd been so wounded, so he got fired as a general(captain) and Mr.Krabs took the position. Patrick didn't spend much time in the military, therefore didn't get PTSD.
Off track here, but you reminded me that mermaid man also has PTSD as a gag, not because of any war or anything, but because of his superhero life. Honestly could make for a cool plot for a more serious show, a retired superhero with PTSD over his past as a hero, and his younger but still old friend and past sidekick.
You should also include how Sandy's helicopter looks identical to the OH-6 Cayuse, a small helicopter used in Vietnam typically by the Army or Navy. This means that Spongebob was either in the Army or part of the Navy. He could be from the Marine Corps, though the Marines are technically a separate branch that works for the Navy as the Navy's ground troops.
To be able to pilot aircraft in the navy/marines you have to get a college degree so since spongebob only got a degree in a future episode it could be possible that he served in the army since they still have the warrant (enlisted) officer program
@@deathsquadron3311 Navy and Marine Corps also have warrant officers though they can't be pilots. Also the phrase "Aye Aye" isn't used by the Army. But since it is a fictional cartoon I don't see why they would need to be accurate.
Perhaps the best canon, given that SpongeBob says phrases such as "ahoy" "aye aye" and other naval phrases may suggest that he was a Marine, given he is more "soldier-ey" in actions and demeanor, stationed at some point onboard the same ship that Mr Krabs was stationed on. After numerous heavy battles and the war was over, SpongeBob heard somewhere that the ships cook he knew had opened a restaurant and decided to chance a job with his old comrade after his discharge.
So I'm not normal because my sleep schedule is all over the place I don't have a work out routine or night routine just. Get up Eat work on a video Eat Chill Eat Maybe get some dessert Sleep (sometimes)
This has an uncanny connection to my coworker He’s a navy/special forces vet who has ptsd really bad yet has the same goofy, hard working, and uplifting personality as SpongeBob It even blew my mind when he told me his kill count was over 500, he’s so innocent looking and like I said previously, has the same personality and traits as SpongeBob He even mentioned how strict he is on money, just like mr krabs, he also mentioned how clean he keeps his house and clothes because of how he was taught in the navy, he still to this day fears of what his commanding officer would think if he slipped up on anything
I doubt his kill count is I’ve 50 unless he’s a pilot that dropped weapons, only a few people in history have over 500 kills and one of them is simo hiya from Finland
@@twilightparanormalresearch186 he was on ships On top of that he mentioned he’s fought in multiple wars but I wasn’t there so I can only go by his word

Hi, I'm an Air Force and soon Army vet. Sounds like your coworker is lying. If he does have over 500, I would be able to look him up easily. Even Chris Kyle was recorded to have 160 and was made famous for it. It honestly sounds more like your coworker is just hard working, but has insecurity issues and that's why he chooses to lie about being a navy seal. It's more likely he went into the navy, and possibly got out after a contract, or he was kicked out during basic. When you talk to veterans who have ACTUALLY seen combat. We seldom boast about how many we've taken. Many of us aren't proud of our service. But seriously, your coworker is lying to you. He just wants attention and special treatment. I hope that he can find a hobby and stops committing stolen valor.
Okay i have a theory the reason why Patrick so dumb and sometimes smart is beacuse before krabs became captain Patrick didnt quit he expressed heavy brain damage causing mood swings.
theres also the fact that during the defense of Krusty Krab, Spongebob knew how to handle an anti aircraft weapon and a light machine gun, meaning he had previous training and was qualified for the Squad-Automatic-Weapon and has Air Defense Training
When you played that clip of Spongebob folding his uniform I remembered a video I'd seen about how to fold in a "Ranger Roll" to save space when packing. If Spongebob was in the army, having clothes that could be stored completely flat and quickly assembled would probably have been advantageous.
Okay, if we're gonna go along with this theory, I'd say that Spongebob isn't a mass murderer, but the helicopter incident was one in the military. Sandy might have designed helicopters for the military (since she's an inventor) and spongebob happened to use her model. Manslaughter, I guess, but not intentional
she might have worked for a design bureau at one point, which would make sense as to how spongebob used her design- it was mass-produced as a standard millitary vehicle.
I believe it was intentional killing from war, and that Sandy was not qualified to know that because it was confidential. Possibly they were all infected by a mutation virus and SpongeBob was tasked to eliminate them.
SpongeBob has a moment of ptsd in that episode where he and squidward fought to be employee of the month. He sees himself in a combat helmet and marches away
While SpongeBob lacks strength, he makes up for efficiency. He knows he's good with guns and weaponry, a soldier's gun is his most prized possession, and SpongeBob shows it with his spatula. It's shown in some episode that There's no replacing his spatula no matter how advanced it is. this could also be tied to the "I'm ready" chant, which meant that the trauma was based off of him forgetting to take care of his rifle and possibly losing Bubble Buddy as a result. Spongebob also shows that he's always in a defensive position when it comes to gun placements (possibly a chopper gunner?). The ptsd might have led to the Whirlybird incident. So I'm guessing SpongeBob was a chopper gunner, this time however, he managed to kill off a hundred people as a way to cope for the losses back in the war
If Mr krabs fought in a war wouldn't he have PTSD since that he entered a "state of depression that seemed endless." Something would have happened to him or a friend during the war.
Assuming this, I don't believe either were in the same unit but on the same ship. I believe Spongebob was a Marine which explains his extreme military bearing, marskmanship, and combat ability such as hand to hand combat, which the US Marine Corps does more than the Army would, and the Uniforms reflect that too. Crabs appears to be wearing a Navy Utility Uniform or some type of Naval Formal Uniform while Spongebob wears something similar to a marine uniform.
So many problems with that theory. A. SpongeBob was voted most artistic in high school. Or was it clumsiest? B. He couldn't even beat Flats.a paper thin flounder. And C. He had to fake his muscles and struggles to lift 2 stuffed bunnies on a stick. I think where this theory falls flat is due to another theory that was already confirmed. Bikini bottom is based off of bikini atoll, a US nuke testing site. So it would be safer to assume they were caught in a blast zone and their personalities were merged with underwater sea creatures. Even that theory has holes in it.
Hey Cinian have you ever noticed whenever Plankton ruins something for Karen or uses her for something or insults her. She never leaves him. Why is that? If Plankton is such a bad husband then why doesn't she leave him? Maybe she can't because she might secretly be an undercover agent working for Mr. Krabs. You should make that your next theory.
Wow this one is great but what if he didn't have luck in relationship s and stuff and wanted to marry a wife of his dream no matter how fucked up he could be or obsessed with the thing going with Mr. K she would never leave him by programming her to do so
There's a lot of small subtle things, too that were overlooked. For example, at 23:38, instead of running off with his hat magically in the air or throwing it away, Patrick hands it to SpongeBob and waits for him to take before running off. He also managed to "know" that he held it without actually looking. He couldn't have felt him hold it as Spongebob positioned to catch the hat rather than take it.
It is worth mentioning that the creators of the character have deliberately left his age ambiguous. They have even playfully mentioned that he ages differently in sponge years, jokingly suggesting he could be 50 years old. While most people assume he is at least 18 years old to be employed and adhere to legal practices, it is uncertain if these standards apply in his world. Nevertheless, it remains peculiar that he is capable of doing almost everything expected of him except obtaining a driver's license. This could potentially indicate underlying manic tendencies or a fear of taking the driving test due to paranoia. There is such a dark thought to him screaming "I'm ready" But on the field of battle he was crying "I'm not ready". Regarding him capturing people on the "other planet" due to thinking he was fighting "aliens" there is a thought that he was made in the military to see the enemies that weren't his people as completly less than valuable. In this sense sub-human or (sub fish) One final thing to note is the bikini bottom is well known to be named after bikini atol which is where the Americans tested nukes in ww2.
Another I would like to add is that SpongeBob has major difficulties with getting his boating license every time he takes the test he panics and goes full speed. This could be a result of some of the battles he was in where to avoid getting hit by artillery and gunfire he has to go full speed.
let me read the description of SpongeBob “he’s lost his family to terrorists finally his last daughter is dead, he will stop at nothing until the day of reckoning”
I can't believe you forgot the part where, on that robot episode, when Mr. Krabs gets salt in his eye, Spongebob's first reaction was to call the navy; you also forgot that his low intelligence could be caused by brain damage from trauma likely that of a bomb of some sort.
to add onto the theory, sponge bob behaves perfectly at boating school, this is probably because soldiers in wars have to engulf every piece of information
I can definitely get the formal attire thing. My father served in the Gulf War and I'm sure other men can relate when I say my father ran a tight ship when it came to dress code, I still try my best to dress as nice as I possibly can. SpongeBob dressing the way he does though can probably be attributed to the way he was raised or conditioning because of the way Mr. Krabs runs his restaurant. As for the other points, I'm not entirely sure.
There is a way In the training video it said mr crabs had depression after the war and then he made the krusty crab and in some episodes we see SpongeBobs parents go to the krusty crab while he was in the womb which means he couldnt have fought in a war and krabs was just a cook
they wanted to make a cartoon. simple. y'all are the only ones making conspiracy theories around cartoons cuz u would LIKE for it to. you guys' monkey brains are happy when your old favorite cartoon is alluded to have a darker subtext or story than it seems to have
I also wanna point out that point you said about his combat skills. My guess is that Because the war traumatized him he suppresses his skill just like how he mentally gets away from his past by being cheerful and innocent. Not only that but he’s constantly referenced as being a kid even by many characters but especially Mr. Krabs. Possibly because he feels bad about his past. Which is actually a common technique in therapy to heal from trauma and ptsd. Age regression therapy. That could be also why his family baby him a little. They probably asked Krabs to treat him the same way because krabs is linked to his war past as well. But I think sometimes his combat skill along with his serious side pops up at times. Sandy reminds him of those days because she’s an inventor and scientist. Both of which are extremely relevant to military. She always has some piece of tech, likes martial arts and physical fitness. Again all of which would have relevance to his past.
This is far most the best theory i ever heard from the SpongeBob series. You did an amazing work. Keep up with the good work. I hope theirs a part 2 for this
It’s would make sense if he was special forces, hence why he served, has ptsd, but SpongeBob doesn’t know much of Mr Krabs’ history. Also why SpongeBob has an extreme level of skill and an iron will to complete whatever task in front of him.
About the Secret Formula: In the First Spongebob Movie, when Plankton aquired the formula, he basically became a ruthless dictator, turning all of Bikini Bottom into his pawns. Even making them say "All Hail Plankton" constantly.
Dude this is a super solid theory, and it’s pretty convincing. It also kinda lines up with the WWII/bikini atoll/ nuclear radiation theory. You for sure earned a sub from me; and I sincerely believe you deserve way more than you have! Good quality video, editing, and scripting - as well as research and source citation.
Who has PSTD under the sea! Spongebob Squarepants! Abandoned by the VA and depressed is he! Spongebob Squarepants! He still blames himself for Bubble Buddy! Spongebob Squarepants!
SpongeBob gained and lost a friend in the war. Patrick was once a genius quite possibly the strategist for spongebobs troop. Something happened which is why spongebob has very subtle ptsd and Patrick came back dumb.
@@Mr.Cinianbut here's one question I have in the first ever episode when krabs first mets spongebob he doesn't know his name until later or seem to know Spongebob until later.
My theory is that Patrick used to be the captain as cinian said but suffered from immense brain damage which turned him into the dumbass we see today and later on Mr krabs became captain and hired SpongeBob
@@Mr.Cinian kinda but not really, his father could've been a veteran , and just heavily instilled that into spongebob as he grew up. That sounds like a much more feasible idea, also if you come from military families you know what I'm talking about lol. You'll get some mild PTSD from growing up like that I'm sure
Bubble Buddy sounds awfully a lot like Battle Buddy, which is a common term in the military. I don't say this often but I think this theory does hold water
The characters Spongebob and Mr. Crabs were based on Gilligan and Skipper from Gilligan's Island, and in that show Gilligan and The Skipper were both in the navy together, so most of this is probably true.
Everything about SpongeBob's habits suggest military discipline, yet this could have been reinforced my Mr Krabs, who was a Sailor. It's good that you were particular about SpongeBob being in the Army, as the theory would have unfortunately been quickly refuted when Krabs mentioned he "wouldn't last a day in the Navy," implying SpongeBob was definitely not a Sailor if he were in the military at all.
There’s no way I made a comic in school inspired by SpongeBob, it started off as just doodles but then I put story to it and it’s where SpongeBob goes into Vietnam. I called it “Sponge in ‘Nam” and I never knew about this theory😭😭
To make a conclusion, in 12:37 we can see in mr crabs secrets a picture of a navy, and not only that but there is also a navy uniform, with medals, meaning that mr carbs was in the navy.
I never watched sponge Bob but I suddenly started getting suggested theory videos and now I’m down a rabbit hole. I decided that I’m going to continue to binge these videos and become a full blown sponge bob conspiracy theorist and start watching sponge Bob. As a vet, I can confirm ptsd and lack of consistent sleep schedule create something called “circadian scarring”. Get your sleep kids, it’s important to your mental health and physical well-being
in the spongebob movie, spongebob and patrick wears a WW1/WW2 British Uniform, mr. krabs couldn't have bought them these uniforms because patrick doesn't work for the krusty krab, and it would cost money. and because there are no military surplus stores in bikini bottom, these uniforms must have been given to them during the war. Also, there's an episode where spongebob creates and operates a tank out of sand, possibly hinting at him being in a tank crew in the war.
Lot of the show seems to hint at a mix of modern and 50-60s theme, could fit a WW2 theme. Especially with WW2 having a much larger naval interaction than most other modern wars, so Krabs would have seen action. Good one.
If SpongeBob was in the Military I'd say WWII Naval Seaman just not sure which Navy considering he requests permission to come aboard as if he's boarding a ship. Bird in the military is a slang for aircraft in general. There's no personal animosity in conflicts courtesy of militaries viewing the rest of the world's soldiers, sailors or airmen as if they were siblings. It wasn't a peace flag, it was the flag of truce
adding on to your point about patrick leaving the navy and krabs taking his place, its possible the reason Patrick is depicted as dimwitted is because he received a head injury or exposed to chemicals that would be on warships/carriers and was discharged due to his brain damage causing him to no longer qualify for service.
I love seeing these theories, because when i saw spongebob freak out over something not being in order my first thought was autism, mainly because i have autism and i react the same way. But then there are people like you that are like "war veteran ptsd" so its just funny to me how people can potray things so differently
Hillenburg was raised in an army family and “His first drawing was of an orange slice. She liked it because, I mean, obviously that was in the middle of [the Vietnam War]” Read up on him and im gonna go rewatch spongeboy me bob
pretty sure there was an episode where spongebob and patrick accidently board a military training camp boat instead of a boyscouts boat so this would either disprove the theory or support it
It could explain why Spongebob tends to perform well only at the Krusty Krab and not in any other job. He also memorized all the rules around the Krabby Patty formula's security, when he told Robot Krabs the formula rules. Then of course he likes to sing the Bikini Bottom national anthem in that episode. Stuff you don't have to do at work.
16:50 also, sandy's "Whirly-Bird" looks a lot like the Hughes OH-6 Cayuse which was a helicopter gunship that was used in the Vietnam war so if he fought in that war of course he would know how to use that helicopter
I believe the show creators (being children of a generation that went to war) wouldve been using some of these colloquialisms and references to demarcate their background, its like in 30 years when this generation's kids will be familiar with the term "content creator" even if that stops being a thing in 30 years
this is a good theory but however I think Spongebob's fixation is due to him being on the spectrum something which his voice-actorr Tom Kenny believes.
Spongebob would seem more like a Navy vet due to his catchphrases " ahoy! " and " aye, aye Captain! " But seems to have the skills of a infantry Marine or soldier. So honestly it's kinda hard to know just which branch he served in.

Patrick was probably in the Army infantry while SpongeBob served in the Marines
Perhaps he was kinda bad at war, why he'd been so wounded, so he got fired as a general(captain) and Mr.Krabs took the position. Patrick didn't spend much time in the military, therefore didn't get PTSD.

Yeah, TBIs (traumatic brain injuries) can certainly cause mood instability

Patrick might have an injury from war that affected his brain, there are real cases of soldiers that became retarded after serious brain trauma.

The "Buggle" call
Killed all credibility. As well as how he believes we were all woken up with it all the time. I never was when I was in, during OEF and OIF.
theres also the fact that during the defense of Krusty Krab, Spongebob knew how to handle an anti aircraft weapon and a light machine gun, meaning he had previous training and was qualified for the Squad-Automatic-Weapon and has Air Defense Training
When you played that clip of Spongebob folding his uniform I remembered a video I'd seen about how to fold in a "Ranger Roll" to save space when packing. If Spongebob was in the army, having clothes that could be stored completely flat and quickly assembled would probably have been advantageous.
Nickelodeon doesn't want to know SpongeBob fought both world wars and started the second world war.
Sandy does strike me as a military engineer
Spongebob the door gunner.
she might have worked for a design bureau at one point, which would make sense as to how spongebob used her design- it was mass-produced as a standard millitary vehicle.
I believe it was intentional killing from war, and that Sandy was not qualified to know that because it was confidential. Possibly they were all infected by a mutation virus and SpongeBob was tasked to eliminate them.
Also, the way it’s described makes it seem more like an accident than something done intentionally.

If Mr krabs fought in a war wouldn't he have PTSD since that he entered a "state of depression that seemed endless." Something would have happened to him or a friend during the war.
think there is a thoery about it
I mean not necessarily-
Ptsd is not guaranteed is only a possibility
Not everyone who was in the war gets PTSD
He did suffer from a state of deep depression that seemed endless.
this theory si so wild I'm convinced he has a muse in his basement
BRO- 😭😭
I get that reference

Spongebob also blows bubbles as a coping mechanism. The show’s child friendly version of smoking.
I heard a quote that a ww2 soldier said don’t know when but it was this „respect the man not the uniform“
8:48 didn’t Mr.Krabs sell SpongeBob for 62 cents?
In this sense sub-human or (sub fish)
One final thing to note is the bikini bottom is well known to be named after bikini atol which is where the Americans tested nukes in ww2.
I recall somewhere saying he was 24.
Honestly I always thought he was just a 30 year old who was a bit childish
5:47 is the funniest thing ive ever seen in the military
Being their kid
Adult in the outside, kid in the inside
Another thing is, the sweet victory song talks about winning and well victory and the navy seal motto is it pays to be a winner
This makes him a much more interesting character. I will choose to believe this theory because of this.

I also wanna point out that point you said about his combat skills. My guess is that
Because the war traumatized him he suppresses his skill just like how he mentally gets away from his past by being cheerful and innocent.
Loved the use of a random mgs4 cutscene bit for the transitions lol
the mr krabs section is kinda far fetched considering the krusty krab has like a pirate theme going on

The characters Spongebob and Mr. Crabs were based on Gilligan and Skipper from Gilligan's Island, and in that show Gilligan and The Skipper were both in the navy together, so most of this is probably true.

adding on to your point about patrick leaving the navy and krabs taking his place, its possible the reason Patrick is depicted as dimwitted is because he received a head injury or exposed to chemicals that would be on warships/carriers and was discharged due to his brain damage causing him to no longer qualify for service.

As a vet with PTSD I've learned a lot about myself.
16:50 also, sandy's "Whirly-Bird" looks a lot like the Hughes OH-6 Cayuse which was a helicopter gunship that was used in the Vietnam war so if he fought in that war of course he would know how to use that helicopter
Also the fact that the nickname for the oh-6 (always thought it was ah-6) Is literally the little bird.
I thought it was gonna be some random made up bullshit but this is well thought out and put together very carefully
There is also the idea that "Bubble Buddy" is their term for "Battle Buddy"
That explains why they went to the bathroom together
Spongebob wasn't born with His Holes...
They were earned on the battlefield.
Spongebob would seem more like a Navy vet due to his catchphrases " ahoy! " and " aye, aye Captain! " But seems to have the skills of a infantry Marine or soldier. So honestly it's kinda hard to know just which branch he served in.
