  • Today we bring out some of the Winchester Longbeard XR 20ga 3" 1-1/4oz 6s and put them to the test at 40 yards through the Stevens 301 20ga and a Carlson's Longbeard XR .568 choke. We definitely saw some pretty impressive results from this combo, so stick around and see how it performs!

That is the similar patterns I get with five or six with Carlson choke that makes the difference and they typically shoot high right or high left my Mossberg 500 20 Gage High to the right

Hmm, I wonder why they hit high and right then

I really don't know for sure why they do that I use a red dot so it's not big deal but I know that's the best LED pattern I can find with that shell and choke combo

I was very disappointed in the number 5 shit out of my Stevens. Basically the same pattern you got from yours. That was also with the Carlsons .568. I wish I could find some number six shot.

Yeah the 5s have been disappointing, but I guess we will see if this choke can help them out any or not

Would like to see the 5s out of that choke

Wow. I don’t know if you can get any better than that with a lead load in 20 gauge.

That's a similar pattern that my rem 870 20 ga gets with Longbeard 5,s or 6,s. With carlsons reg turkey nonported .570. Very consistent dense patterns. They hit point of aim out of my gun.

Maybe I'll have to pick up that choke to try as well at some point

Many peoples say small gauge are tight pattern, absolutely not.

You can definitely get tight patterns from smaller gauges, but you still have to find a good shell and choke combination to be able to get them

WOW 🤩, that’s a Great Pattern. But I do wonder why it grouped so High and Right?

It could have been some kind of inconsistency in the shell, or just the specific load and choke combo. We've seen different loads and chokes change point of impacts before, so it wouldn't surprise me if that was the case
