To all the people using "he/him" pronouns to refer to Blaire: we conservatives refuse to use neopronouns because we would make an effort doing so, or using "she/her" pronouns to refer to a man who looks like a man. We refuse because we're not going to change our whole language because of someone's feelings. But when it comes to a transgender woman who clearly looks like a transgender woman, are you really going to put effort into calling her a "he"? Isn't the whole point not putting effort in remembering someone's pronouns. Just refer to people as what they look like. If she didn't mention she was trans you wouldn't even know.

The pathetic part of all of this is that most of us agree with Blaire on a lot of things when it comes to trans issues. But none of us can be open about it.

There are many of us! We simply aren't that visible because we just live as a hardworking man or a woman in social spaces (so we'd disclose it when we need to discuss biology, like at a doctor's appointment), instead of making "trans" a big deal.
Cause she is confident in herself and loves herself.
She says she's the black sheep of trans people but I'd say she's the queen of the trans community because she's the most honest out of anyone in the community and she doesn't sugar code anything and will get straight to the points she is willing to make. I could say she's brave for saying the things she says but she's not just brave if brave at all she's amazingly strong and has that idgaf what people say attitude and that's one of the things that make her strong and amazing.

Blair is probably the only transwoman I will acknowledge as she/her because she's not forcing me to acknowledge her as a woman. I feel like she will respect my decision either way. Which is why i feel comfortable with her.

I'm a libertarian. Idc about people transitioning as adults. My problem is allowing kids who aren't mentally developed enough to make such decisions going through that process without being able to weight the reality of that decision. My problem with trans in sports is that biological males have a natural advantage in muscle mass. This isnt to discriminate. They should be ale to recognize they have a "priveledge" of natural muscle mass advantage. While the women they compete against who aren't trans don't have the same biological advantage. Its not fair to them. If we are gonna do that then we may as well let everyone compete against each other and throw gender out the window. Wouldn't that be true equality?
Trans adults still command free speech. If a woman can't say "that man is not a woman, even though he's wearing a dress and had his penis cut off", then there is no freedom. We should be allowed to call them by their REAL pronouns, that reflect reality.

well with conservatives, it's a very weird topic that constantly changes. what do you think forcing it on people and kids would be? surely not showing gay people on tv, whether as a friend or in a relationship, or else i would hope you would feel the same way about straight people being like that on tv, and both of those are just dumb.
The issue: kids can also be lgbtq+. Without even seeing or hearing about the community. We're not forcing kids to be us, we're showing the kids who already are lgbtq+ that it's ok, and they're not broken, or wrong. I knew I was transgender before I even heard about being trans. But I thought I was wrong, and tried to force myself into heing a girl (and almost died). We're not forcing kids, we're showing them it's ok to be yourself.

I think that because trans people are becoming more empowered and visible these days, it compels some cis people to think it is either a fad or something being pushed onto the young and/or impressionable. It's a cart before horse thing. But few, if any, people would unnecessarily go through all of this if it was merely a fad.

I’m trans and conservative as well. Blaire has been a major contributor to my success by showing me that I can be myself. It often feels there is an expectation to hide conservatism in the trans community. My response was to stay away from the trans community and be part of my local community that I have more in common with.
But conservatism is anti-trans, conservatism means to conserve your traditional values.

I am a post op transgender woman and I have voted Republican since 1980. I have done the whole transition thing - laser hair removal, breast augmentation, facial feminization surgery, voice lessons and SRS. After working for the same company for 25 years, I was laid off in 2008. I looked at this as a chance to finally make a complete change in my life and be who I was. No, this transgender stuff didn't just happen in 2008, I knew I was somehow different from age four or five and fought it for over forty some years.
When I did transition, it was in between my second semester of college. I left that spring as "Fred" and returned that fall as Kelly. Was there an uproar at school? Was I called names? Nope, the worst I received was from a lab partner who said, "I dig the change but you could have given some of us a head's up." That was it, nothing more. Through out this time, I had been attending a transgender support group and I did receive a lot of great advice on transitioning. But there was a subtle political tone that I started picking up on and it slowly increased as did the politics going on outside of our group.
I said one thing to a "woman" who was having trouble riding on public transportation and being picked on by the other passengers. I suggested that "Thumbelina" (That wasn't the name she was using but close to it.) might want to shave her five day beard off, go a little less intense on the bright colored makeup and not carry a big pink stuffed duck with her, you know, try to blend in more. Man, did I get drilled on that! "That's who she is and how she presents herself, she shouldn't have to do that to keep from being picked on!", one person said to me. "That's right," another person shouted. I was like WTF - this is just common sense people! Then I REALLY screwed my self over... I said then if she continues to present like that and doesn't want to get beaten up, she should just get herself a firearm, safely train with it and then get herself a concealed carry license. Damn, you would have thought that told them that I was satan and loved killing babies from the outcry that I had just caused! I got the lecture from the group leader that violence of any kind is bad, guns are bad and so on...
As the months went on, myself and another conservative transgender woman noticed that the "support" part of this group was turning more and more into political indoctrination and that we seemed to be on some of the receiving end of it. And anytime that I spoke up to challenge something that had been said, I was viewed as the "bad" person. The last time I attended one of these "support" meetings, it started out with a FYI that this was a gun and weapon free building and hopefully, anyone with a concealed carry permit has locked their firearm in their car. There were only two concealed carry permit holders in the room, myself and my other conservative friend, how this group leader found out, neither of us have a clue but we knew the FYI was directed at us. And that was the last time I attended one of these meetings, not just because of the political rhetoric, but work and school was consuming a lot of my time as well.
Then Donald Trump ran for president and won and yes, I voted fore him. And I voted for him again in 2020 and I hope to vote for Ron DeSantis or Nikki Haley in 2024. And now, no one in the LGBTQplusSWDERTGGFJMYOUNB (I am probably missing another 20 letters, a few Greek and Roman signs and some pictures but TOUGH!!) community will touch me with a ten foot poll and I am a happier person because of that! That and being trans is just a small part of who I am - I like to hunt, fish, hike and target shoot. I ever collect rocks and fossils! I love reading history books! Give me a 1,200 page book on my man Winston Churchill and I am set for a few weeks! That and I am a parent too. We don't see eye to eye on things politically, her leaning way left but we make it work. I love cooking - either on one of my Weber Kettles or on the stove, in the house. That and hanging out with family and friends - where the trans word hardly ever comes up! And, NO, no transgender women in WOMENS sports and NO, no puberty blockers or sex change surgeries to kids under the age 18! Oh, and if you misgender me, who the hell cares! Life is way to short to get bent about stuff like that. With that said, my preferred pronoun is "Hey you!" 😂 And on the flip side, if you ask me to refer to you as they, them or ze, zer or whatever new weirdness the LGBT community has come up with, our conversation is over with! Peace and love people and remember to read our Constitution every now and then!

That's one thing the Left has never understood about the Right, we for the most part have ALWAYS been "accepting", how people choose to be, that we've NEVER been "bigots" toward those different from us (save exceptions of course, speaking in general). Not agreeing with anothers personal decisions doesn't and never has meant "bigotry", but the Left makes it seem so, that unless you "agree" with whatever nature of a person is you're not "tolerant". I first saw Blaire White on a Tim Poole podcast. She is a great example of what an actual trans person should be. She is trans but refuses to let it be her defining characteristic. If the lgbtq+ community would stop completely defining themselves solely by their sexual identity they would gain a lot more acceptance from your average individual.

I SO wish Matt included Blaire in What is a Woman. She has such a unique voice (publicly) even if her definition of a woman doesnt agree with a conventional conservative perspective, I would have loved to hear her speak about it. As a nurse, I have been considering going into trans health. It was such a iffy topic for me as I want to help people be their happiest self but I don’t want to facilitate a peer driven permanent alteration. Listening to Blaire has helped me reconcile some of my own doubts of potentially going into this field to help children especially figure out their mental health. I want to be a gender affirming nurse. In its most legitimate definition. I don’t want to see children trapped in a world of society’s making. I’d love to help legitimate trans individuals find themselves but I also want to protect the innocence and mental malleability of our youth. It feels daunting as a conservative, but if we don’t start involving ourselves on the front line there will be no one to protect our kids as the world pushes and manipulates a narrative for them. So, thanks Blaire for a refreshing take, for helping me understand, and for creating a space that welcomes and platforms detransitioners as well as legitimate trans individuals. Wish we had more of you!

Hey Jessica. I used to be a psych nurse. I can tell you from what I saw over the last few years is Trans, in some ways, is pushed on the youth. I loved working with adolescents, but how the culture of care was changing was not good. I saw the worst behaved kids get rewarded (essentially bribed in hopes they'll be good) and if a kid claimed part of the lgtbq+ community they were placed at the top of the social hierarchy by the system I worked for. If you were a well behaved kid, with depression and maybe a situation that made you want to commit suicide...you were almost at the bottom....didn't get as much attention, rewards, etc. It was frustrating to watch as kids would enter 'straight' and then later claim something else to be 'in' and be favored more be the therapist and Dr. This was in inpatient psych. I wish you the best in trying to find a balance.

This was so mind blowing for me. I can't even begin to explain how much I thought I knew and judged the group of trans. As a Christian I don't necessarily agree with trans, but I can totally respect this person and the decisions they made.

Met one almost a decade ago in College who became a friend, and I honestly wouldn’t have known she was trans if she hadn’t told me. We sadly grew apart because she had to change schools.

Thus, the 2 teenagers I know who struggle with identity have gotten the talk about how younger you may feel different than older you. Permanent means Permanent.

I live in Canada. And I work for one of the provincial governments. They encourage all of us to put our pronouns in our email signature. I absolutely refuse to do that. I am a straight woman and I look like a woman and I find it absolutely absurd that they are encouraging this.

I have so much respect for her
She speaks facts, and people want to dislike her because she doesn't go along with the wokeness and nonsense. She is a great example for the trans community, or at least for the real trans people. I've seen some trans people who don't like her, which I don't understand. She makes great points, and doesn't go along with kids taking hormones and unreversible changes. I have similar views as Blair, and I've been attacked by so many woke LGBTQ+ and they/them people who call me transphobic or tell me that I'm not apart of the community for not agreeing with them and having my own views. I can see that the community has a hard time accepting others not thinking the same way they do, which is a problem. But anyway, more people need to listen to Blair. I am also tired of being grouped with the trenders or people have make it their entire personality. I've had other trans people DM me just because I'm trans and admittedly think that we are friends just because of it. The difference is, they make it their entire personality. And I'm tired of it, Blair and another example, which is Buck Angel. We need more people in the community like you two.
Blaire did help me to be critical about my own political views. I did not become fully right-wing, but instead of a super progressive liberal I'm a centrist now. I do think that Blaire did get a lot of things wrong and that her purpose is often to just make the left look like crazy people, but that's what the left does most of the time as well.

I have lent my voice where I have been able on the issues our country faces, and Like Ms. White have received some backlash from those in my community. I've even been called a self-hating Transgender woman. Really? I love my life. I have never had any difficulty fitting in, since my transition. And I am a professional pilot.
