- Happy Monday guys and girls, today I’m reacting to a debate between “non-binary transracial” influencer Oli London who is British but identifies as Korean and a woke activist who believes Oli is committing cultural appropriation. This is only a five minute debate but I have a LOT of thoughts. Let’s get into it!

I've been trying to identify as trans-retired for few years now but my manager keeps scheduling me for work for 40 hours/week. Honestly this is so infuriating. People need to start respecting my identity. Bunch of retirephobes in our society nowadays!

I identify as me (or I.) Categories are another matter. I'm pretty sure my body is male, and "me" is trapped in that, for better or worse, whatever I think. I could chop my arm off, get a tattoo, take drugs, or whatever: then I'd still be me trapped in the wreck of a male body. If I mutilated myself to an extreme degree, people might have a problem recognising my male body, so then I could make up any story I like - but I'd still be me inside the disguised remains of a male body.
As for wokeness, I'm definitely not woke, but I think I'm much more awake and aware of the real world than these woke zombies. Amala is a good example: she was woke when she just believed what other people told her, then she started to look at the world and think for herself. Perhaps we need a complementary word for this - when people awaken from wokeness and start to see the real world?

Im a lesbian and no I don't want to represent this. I'm a woman that likes women, I dont want to be seen as "special".. I dont even think the word "pride" is appropriate anymore. I understand the point, the coming out of shame to feel proud of yourself, but being gay isn't an achievement. Accepting yourself for who you are is. And I feel bad for those people because they really have identity issues and have trouble accepting themselves for what they are.

He's not just trying to take on the identity of being Korean - he's trying to mimic the exact look of another person. He's trying to transform himself into the guy he's in love with. That's a whole other level of scary.

Then even after that he wanted to identify as kind of himself ( but not really) idk he's been changing his identity was to much it's damn exhausting imo. He's just wanting clout & everyone knows it he's disgusting that's about it!!

I think the accepting nature of straight people in comparison to some in these groups is that we feel less embattled in our daily existence than they. Our shields need not be so thick or as quickly raised.

This is EXACTLY what I've been talking about. I knew this was coming. Next there will be men/women identifying as 13 year olds and wanting to date 13 year olds because they're"13", and we don't have the right to tell them they're 40. Well I'll be straight up a person could say I was transracial when I was younger but they used wannabe wigger shit like that but it all stemmed from where I grew up . I got along with black folks more so than whites but I grew up in the hood ,not only do people adapt to their surroundings you need to be at peace with where your at . I didnt see anything I was doing wrong ,just being me , I still get it today because again I'm a product of the environment I came from so some of these cats i can relate too then there are alot of them I would like to smack the taste out their mouth because it's a act . In my view? It’s all appropriation. Doesn’t matter what the hell it is. Also, the fact these people can get fillers, Botox, etc covered by insurance is absurd. Women all over would love to be able to get those procedures to stay young looking and have good skin, but us bio women have to pay for that, yet these people can claim dysphoria and get cosmetic procedures for FREE.

Oli recently “came out” as a detransitioner and is now all over conservative shows. He’s also written a book on “gender madness.” He has a video that shows all the TV commentators around the world saying his name. He got Gays Against Groomers to let him speak for them. I know people are saying “good for him to realize the truth” - except no one overcomes a profound psychological/personality disorder -like he clearly has - so quickly. This is another identity he’s taking on (since he’s seen it would be advantageous to do so) and unfortunately people are being fooled. This is a man who identified as another person (Jimin) and even a second other pop star (“Sometimes I wake up as jimin and sometimes I wake up as Rose”)…now he’s got a new character to role play publicly. I feel sorry for him and whatever disorder he has…I certainly wish for him to seek professional help and to heal, but people need to know nothing he says can be trusted. He’s not going to find peace by continuing to seek fame and adopting new personas. And he’s probably going to make a mockery of the gender critical movement just like he has done to Koreans.
He also said that Koreans and Trans people forced him to transition... he needs severe mental help
As someone who has dated women before, AS A WOMEN, I would like to point out the fear of even talking about it now. Not because I fear that I will get beat up, or hated on, but to be associated with people like this, (neo-pronoun, trans-racial etc.) my family has been hearing of more incidents of this type of stuff and the other drama going around with trans debates and stuff, and it’s honestly scaring me to even say anything about my life, or anyone I know who is in the community. We got the acceptance we wanted but now because of everything going on, we’re going backwards. I don’t think I consider myself as part of the community at this point.

When I was 13ish I was in the car with my parents and they asked the simple question "if you can identify as a different gender, why can't you identify as a different race?" For some reason I was outraged; although I couldn't come up with a single reason, I was so adamant that gender is an interchangeable spectrum but being "transracial" is not a thing and is unfair to the race they are switching to. I often think back to that moment to remind myself just how indoctrinated I was with the agenda I was fed in school. I was told what I was supposed to believe, what was "right", and didn't even question it!
Woke and leftist people advocate for women and applaud things like masculinity in a woman but also applaud men saying they are women and defining it with stupidity, dresses, pink, and other dumb things. Thank you Amala for helping share this unfortunate truth.

I was fascinated by Lakota culture as a young child. I wanted to be "adopted" into a tribe. I wanted to advocate for Native American people. I did a lot of reading, at first from authors who were white folks.
Then I grew up and realized that it was gravely disrespectful to pretend I knew anything about reservation life, about Native American spirituality by reading fiction novels.
I met Chief Joseph's great-great-grandson as a child, so I share the ledgends that I was taught directly. I enjoy powwows and love fry bread. I try to keep tabs on news, but I am not Native American. They do not need my "help" as an uninvited outsider. I no longer speak or think as a child.

I attend one of the most liberal colleges in the USA. In the cafeteria, I overheard two people talking about this subject. One of them said “trans-racialism is invalid because a white person doesn’t understand what it’s like to be oppressed as an Asian or black person.” But at the same time, we’re apparently still living in a misogynistic patriarchy, so why is it valid for a man to identify as a woman? He doesn’t know the “oppression” women face in this country. The contradiction is so glaringly apparent, it melts my brain that these people don’t see that. It’s all BS.
I just want to say, Amala, that I think you are an incredibly strong young woman. I grew up in a narcissistic household where reality for me was constantly "rewritten," and it is incredibly confusing and disorienting. The fact that you came from the left where reality is constantly rewritten, and that you stay in a position where you not only challenge those unrealities, but also wade gracefully through the nuances and find that balanced realistic position in so many issues...I just want to thank you for what you do and for fighting to help others wade through that same confusion.

lesbian here. our goal was primarily just to be allowed to BE. not become superior, not try to take over the minds of children, we just wanted to be allowed to love whoever we wanted (ethically, obviously). we’ve come to a point where, personally, i think that goal was reached but people want to be a part of something and become “activists” for a cause so badly that they’ve come to creating their own problems and attacking whoever disagrees. this has created such a divide amongst members of the community as well as people outside of it that turned into a divide similar to how we started. I also think people wanting to be “a part” of something caused for all of these new additions to a community that started as normal people just trying to live their life normally.
It’s these non profits that keep pushing a new agenda. They want to keep their jobs and their power and keep making money, so they have to keep coming up with new problems to solve. That’s also why they want to tack on trans and P to the LGB.

I’m a bisexual who grew up as a teen in the 80s, and joined the LGBTQ community for a short period of time … I left because they chose to bash my Republican family simply for being Republicans. Didn’t matter that they accepted me for who I was, didn’t matter that they didn’t condemn me for embracing Liberal idealism in my youth, instead letting me spread my wings and allowing me to experience things on my own and come to my own conclusions. Now I’m in my 50s, and though I do not call myself a Republican, I am definitely a conservative … and I’m still bisexual, and a Christian to boot. And my family has supported me thru every phase of my life, even when the LGBTQ community has NOT due to my political and religious views. Sad how the “all-inclusive” people pushed me out and made me feel unwelcome

There have always been people obsessed with changing themselves, their bodies and face to fit an ideal. Plastic surgery can be addictive, we’ve seen men wanting to look like Ken, women turning themselves into barbie. I think everyone can remember the cat woman. We’ve seen catastrophic damage done all in the name of chasing the perfect look. It’s sad where previously beautiful /handsome actors have ruined their looks. In the cases of extreme changes these people needed counselling, no different today with trans identity. It’s a body disorder.

I find the comment "I'm Korean, and people need to accept that" to be just as crazy as "I'm a woman, and people need to accept that". I don't need to "accept" ANYONES mental delusions. The thought that keeps coming up for me is: what you’re saying about people not holding the same energy or being able to treat a transsexual person the same as this transracial person, is how some people still treat transsexual people or how everyone used to treat them. I’m wondering if, decades from now, they will be viewed the same. Also, the same applies farther back in history to gay, lesbian, and bi sexual. Go even farther back and the awful thing of people saying that any non-white person was not actually a human but an animal.
It is very hard to see things from someone else’s actual point of view because we haven’t lived their life and experiences.
You have some great points. Keeping open to new ideas and new ways of thinking is so important. If we are not willing to admit that our thinking is flawed, we will never learn anything. This is happening in schools across the UK- mentally unwell people who are simply gay, living in the era which is more accepting of that then any other in history, but when they feel a bit anxious or depressed, or struggling with what to do with their lives think that identifying as a perceived marginalised group will give them happiness. It’s just so sad because this stuff didn’t exist in people’s thoughts in the recent past, and people were happier and less angry. I’ve seen it first hand, a young person close to me driven to suicidal thoughts and self harm by it all- before releasing she was straightforwardly lesbian. Male and Female as categories can be as flexible as you like- you only need to create sub-categories if you impose binary limitations on them- which is ironic. It’s really so sad. If it was ushering in a golden age of happiness maybe ditching objective truths might be worth it but it seems like it’s going in the opposite way. So sad, and I feel really sad for this guy.
Lumping any sexuality into a group is something I've never understood. I'm Bi, but that's not the most intersteing part of who I am as a person, there's so much more to humans than who we're attracted to.

I feel this new identity thing is a trend and half of them aren't even authentic I know plenty of happy authentic people who feel the exact same as me.

Growing up we had a lesbian girl in our little pod of BFFs. She was quite a few years older than us but even though was more masculine than us, she never preyed on us or groomed us or took advantage of us. In fact, she protected us. Like a gardian angel. She had a really hard time with people making fun of her for being lesbian. She now at last receiving the happiness she deserves as she found her soulmate and they are happily married. You know what she wants from the LGBTQ community? Nothing. She doesn't want "support" or "representation" and she thinks "woke" is propaganda. In 2012, universities in South Africa become quite drenched in Woke.
We are not judgemental of gay/ lesbian couples on South Africa and same-sex marriage has been legal since 2006. Do you know who would pick on you if you were gay in South Africa? Children - providing you were also a child, obviously. But then, think back to when you were a child. Can you honestly tell me you were never bullied? I was fat and a geek and a goth. I was bullied. I don't know of a single acquaintance, friend, or family member who wasn't bullied for something at some stage of their life. Whether it was a mole or a missing tooth. We all get scrutinized and picked apart. It's just easier to make a big noise about it in this digital age.

I am British, I identify as British. I have been learning Korean for 5+ years. Oli London likes to say he speaks the language, but he can say about 5 words that are the sorts of things children learn. One of them is “saranghae” meaning “I love you”, and he says it with his thick London accent so he doesn’t even try to use a Korean accent to speak Korean. The best part is Koreans barely use the word “saranghae” for stuff, it’s a very western thing to say “I love your shirt” or “I love coffee”. In Korea, they just say they like it or they like it a lot, or there are idioms they use to say these things like “my heart/soul longs for your shirt”, which I love. I digress. “Saranghae”, I believe, is what people use often to talk about celebrities. They shout it at concerts or when they see a celebrity, and they use it in more of a fanatic sense. It’s also used in a cute way if someone, like a close friend or partner, does something for you. But it’s not used in the way Oli uses it. He’s done little-to-no research into the actual language and how it’s used, and yet he says that he speaks the language. I’m not even Korean and I’m kind of insulted by his claim. I’ve put years of effort and money into studying the language, and I don’t even have the confidence to say “I speak the language”. He’s definitely mentally ill, and I think it’s the fault of left-wing politics mixed with his own predisposition to be confused about his identity.

I love watching these videos because they help me establish where I personally stand on issues like transgenderism. My younger self would run blindly into debates without even knowing why I'm debating for the sake of trying to be right. Now I do a much better job of explaining my perspective with respect while still attempting to see the other side.

I was in a car wreck many years ago and I broke my nose and maxillary bone and had to have close reduction nasal surgery; It was one of the most excruciating things I have ever been through and I've given birth to 2 children. I don't think that was as painful as that nose surgery was. I cannot imagine somebody doing anything like this for cosmetic purposes, yet people are. Doing it.
