  • Quick and easy replacement of the track that allows your sliding screen door to easily opens and close.
In my situation I'm replacing a Milgard track, part number VA5213WH. The WH at the end is for white, but your color and part number may vary. The track had to be ordered through a Milgard dealer, which my area had many. Overall for 54inches of track it was about $4.
    Steps after removing screen door:
    1) Start at far end and use a screw driver to pop the track out from the track. It may be wedged in there with years of dirt.
    2) Clean all of the dirt and gunk. The cleaner it is the easier popping new track in will be.
    3) Cut new track to size
    4) Pop one side of the new track into the outer most groove.
    5) Use a putty knife to gently pop the other side of the track into place
    6) Replace screen slider

Milgard Tech replaced my track under warranty, he said to use spray silicone spray. Works great and lasts a long time.

Nice! Always good to utilize warranty. Ours unfortunately wasn't. Will have to pick up a can of silicon spray, thanks for the tip!

Weird! I went on Milgards website and found a part list for my specific door model. From there I navigated to the find a dealer section and then called a local dealer. Gave them the part number and a week or so later I picked it up from them. Maybe the person you are calling has a minimum order amount?

DIY with Mike- is there a "universal" replacement track? I can't find my specific door model anywhere on the door and I even had an exterior door/window guy out and he couldn't either....

Pulled from a website: Go to the window or door, in which you have a question or issue with and check either the top right or left corner of glass between the two panes. Use caution if you have to climb to get a good view of these corners. In of the two corners, you will find a metal spacer with a series of numbers printed on it. The set of numbers will be five to eight digits long with a decimal point and then three more digits. Those six to eleven figures is your Milgard Sales Number or your Milgard SO. When you are ready to speak to a Milgard representative, please have the Milgard Sales Number ready so that they can locate your door or window in their system as quick as possible.

What if your door isn't Milgard brand? That's why I asked if there is a universal door track out there to use? @@DIYwithMIKE
