      The aluminum rail isn’t available on amazon anymore with that link. Do you know anywhere else it can be bought?

    Thanks for posting this. We live in the country, and it's really hard to get people to come out and help us fix anything. We rely on posts like this to help us take care of ourselves and our home.

      Yes, they do sell some online but at a very very high price. The one I got was great and priced well. Here’s a link:

      No I did not, the wheels were still in good shape. My primary problem was the vinyl track being busted. Wheels might other others if they are very worn or damaged,

      There is a very small gap that needs to be filled with the new rail. So this is what I placed in that gap for a snug fit

    When i started this project, i expected the vinyl track to cost like $10. Boy was I wrong. I don't understand why they are so expensive. Nice video btw.

    Seems you can't buy these aluminum rail tracks anymore. Your amazon link is no longer there. Where else can I get one? The Arizona heat destroys the vinyl ones,

      Here's the only info I have on it...
      Brand: CRL
      Model: Satin Anodized Aluminum Single Bottom Rail - D601A
      I was able to pull this from my records.

    • @MCFIXIT
      @MCFIXIT  2 місяці тому +1

      After a quick search, I found this online: www.dkhardware.com/satin-anodized-aluminum-single-bottom-rail-d601a-product-8744.html?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw1K-zBhBIEiwAWeCOF3FQRTZxLM-nj0jYCOIZHxkEur6uF1OFx5WlU5GU9r0Of40W-W6fyxoC3HEQAvD_BwE. I can't guarantee it will be the same, so you might want to call the company and ask questions about it

    I don't have a channel for mine to go into (adding a screen where there currently isn't one). Can you glue the track down (and up...need one for the top too!)?

    • @MCFIXIT
      @MCFIXIT  2 роки тому +1

      You would need to secure the track. You might be able to glue it and clamp it but it would be better if you find a way to screw it in. What is the base & top of the door made out of?

    My vinyl frame is chipped on the very outside part of the runner, like where someone might hit their toe if they were stepping inside, from the outside. Do you have any tips or advice? I can't afford to replace the entire frame and door

    • @MCFIXIT
      @MCFIXIT  2 роки тому +1

      Find out the manufacturer and call to see if you can get a replacement part for that. Otherwise it’s not looking good except for replacing it

  • @Lisa-ze1ub

    Is it still sliding well? Any issues going with a metal over vinyl runner?

    • @MCFIXIT
      @MCFIXIT  2 роки тому +1

      Yes it is! No issues, it seems more sturdy actually than the vinyl original part.

  • @charlieklippel1961
    @charlieklippel1961 Рік тому +1

    Ours is bent at the top track. Does that one come off too or do I need to replace the entire frame?

    • @MCFIXIT
      @MCFIXIT  Рік тому +1

      You will need to look at yours to determine that. Some do and others don’t. It’s less likely than the bottom strip. You should be able to put a pick or screw driver into a slot and pry up (carefully). That should help determine if the upper comes out. Mine does not.
