All these while I thought the sliding door was overhang from the top. It's those wheels carrying the loads! You Sir, are a good samaritan and a very good teacher, thank you.

After living in our new house for about a year I didn't know that a sliding door was supposed to be smooth until a mate of mine commented on how sticky my door is.
Your video was extremely helpful and much appreciated - the job didn't even take 10 minutes! Bless you brother 🙏🏻

Very good, thank you. My slider totally froze up just as I was closing it for the final time before heading upstairs to go to bed. Panic. Not sure about choosing a new plastic replacement but these days that's where we are. Oh, one more tiny hint: take advantage of the slider being out and clean up the track thoroughly - you won't get another chance for about another 20 years! Thanks again.

You might also add that if your track is corroded at all it will eat your new rollers, you can buy SS track liners that are a "u" shape that you can caulk down over your existing track and have a nice new easy sliding door and longer-lasting rollers, and it's an easy job also.

Thank you for the video. Helped a ton.
I had a frightening experience this last weekend. My door kept jamming and riding up… and then what was worse was the door dropped totally and the top came out of the runner and started tipping out. Now I have EDS meaning I dislocated joints easily but when I saw the door falling I just dived outside to stop it completely on adrenaline… and popped both shoulders.
The rollers really needed replacing YEARS ago as the door is about 20 years old. Oh well, you live and learn.

@@hannesbezuidenhout385 "locked" would just means that there's a tiny piece of metal "hooked" downward (and held at most 1/4" deep only), it isn't going to prevent the door from being lifted up and off the track, unless yours have something that hold it onto the track, but I believe 99% of patio tracks are the same, simply rollers running on a 1/2" rail track, just for kicks, try lifting your door from the outside 😀, you might be shocked to know the sense of security you've had for a long time might turn out to be a sham 😂

Do the roller assemblies not screw to the frame at all? I have a door identical to this, but the old parts i pulled out look nothing like that wheel assembly. In fact, there are two screws - one that adjusts the height of the wheel and another one that screws it against the short wall. Of course, I'm adjusting it every other week, even with the brand new assembies I put in, and they wobble side to side as it's just a long (stripped) screw holding it in place now.
Just shocks me that it's not secured to the frame, just sitting there
