watched this last night probably around 7:30am today at Gelmar to buy new wheels 😃 . did the job less than 30mins thank you very much . my wife gone be happy when she comes back from work
All these while I thought the sliding door was overhang from the top. It's those wheels carrying the loads! You Sir, are a good samaritan and a very good teacher, thank you.
After living in our new house for about a year I didn't know that a sliding door was supposed to be smooth until a mate of mine commented on how sticky my door is. Your video was extremely helpful and much appreciated - the job didn't even take 10 minutes! Bless you brother 🙏🏻
You saved me from getting a pro to replace the rollers... Thank you! Just needed to raise the wheels. Was looking for a local "doors smith", when I stumbled upon this piece of gold... ❤
Very good, thank you. My slider totally froze up just as I was closing it for the final time before heading upstairs to go to bed. Panic. Not sure about choosing a new plastic replacement but these days that's where we are. Oh, one more tiny hint: take advantage of the slider being out and clean up the track thoroughly - you won't get another chance for about another 20 years! Thanks again.
Thanks mate, 6 years with stuffed door and I couldn't workout how to get the door back in as rollers stuck out ,now I know what the screw is for ,to lift the rollers, good video mate.
Thank you so much! ❤ Great video instructions. Hubby & I just fixed our sliding door in 20 minutes. After 8 years of a stiff sliding door😅 I was about to call in a pro... now we're the pros 🎉
You might also add that if your track is corroded at all it will eat your new rollers, you can buy SS track liners that are a "u" shape that you can caulk down over your existing track and have a nice new easy sliding door and longer-lasting rollers, and it's an easy job also.
I'm starting to do more and more DIYs around the house to save on contractor's cost. Thank you for this video, it's definitely going into my collection.
Thank you, my door came off the bottom track on 1 wheel and I couldn’t figure out how to get it back on. One little screw. Proves you don’t know what you don’t know. Thanks again.
Thank you for the video. Helped a ton. I had a frightening experience this last weekend. My door kept jamming and riding up… and then what was worse was the door dropped totally and the top came out of the runner and started tipping out. Now I have EDS meaning I dislocated joints easily but when I saw the door falling I just dived outside to stop it completely on adrenaline… and popped both shoulders. The rollers really needed replacing YEARS ago as the door is about 20 years old. Oh well, you live and learn.
Thanks for the EDS warning! My buddy & I both have it - will be extra careful changing rollers & watch out for tipping. Hope you were able to pop them back in & healed up quick!
Thank you for the video I have been having this problem since two weeks after installation I'm going to fix this your presentation was on point thank you again.
My door is extra large/wide and is so bad I broke the handle trying to close it. I have watched several videos on this subject and yours is by far the best. thank you for your time and clear instructions, new sub:)
Thanks for the insight but I'll most likely need several people to lift my glass door it's old and very heavy but you have inspired me if I could only remove it from the track I'd be able to repair it so for me it looks like I'll have to call in the professionals more money but the door is way too heavy for even two people Thanks for the information and video it was great
Just curious, isn't your door installed incorrectly? shouldn't the sliding side be on the inside and not on the outside so someone trying to break in can't just remove your door? 🤔
@@hannesbezuidenhout385 "locked" would just means that there's a tiny piece of metal "hooked" downward (and held at most 1/4" deep only), it isn't going to prevent the door from being lifted up and off the track, unless yours have something that hold it onto the track, but I believe 99% of patio tracks are the same, simply rollers running on a 1/2" rail track, just for kicks, try lifting your door from the outside 😀, you might be shocked to know the sense of security you've had for a long time might turn out to be a sham 😂
So so helpful. Yours looks like the 2.4 x 2.1 I have. It's been stocking a but and I've been worried that the wheels might need replacing so thanks for this
If the rollers are rusted and the adjustment screw doesn't work can I just remove the upper screw and hope the weight pushes the wheel up into the frame
Do the roller assemblies not screw to the frame at all? I have a door identical to this, but the old parts i pulled out look nothing like that wheel assembly. In fact, there are two screws - one that adjusts the height of the wheel and another one that screws it against the short wall. Of course, I'm adjusting it every other week, even with the brand new assembies I put in, and they wobble side to side as it's just a long (stripped) screw holding it in place now. Just shocks me that it's not secured to the frame, just sitting there
I can't figure out what you did from 3:20 to 3:25. Also, the bottom of you door is open. How did you get that access? My roller is almost inaccessible.
Thank you for this video. really helped me to replace the wheels on a door. Had to take the entire security gate down in order to do so, but I did it! I had to bend the wings though, is that normal?
Shoot some WD40 on the housing to help make it easier to remove. Nylon wheel on a metal rail will not last long. Need to replace with a metal wheel and add some grease onto the bearings before installation for a longer life
I was stupid and unscrewed the top screw completely. Now I now it's what keeps the frame together. How do I fix that? That top screw doesn't want to tighten anymore.
Thanks to this video I am finally going to fix our patio door after 5 years 😝 my wife sends her appreciation
❤
lol minor fixes that that make life easier
Got to get your money's worth from the original rollers, they sure did on the door in the video!
Dude, by far this is the best video on how to fix anything. He actually explained how to fix it with the right camera angles. Excellent
You, sir, are a scholar and a gentleman! Thank you.

finally a video that's worth watching, thanks for all the helpful tips
Excellent video, thanks for showing the actual roller and explaining each step clearly!
Practical videos that are straight to the point all the time. Keep it up!
Thanks for the vid. Very informative and easy to follow. Wife also thanks you after a year of dragging heavy door over very warn rollers. 😀
Thanks for sharing how to do this. Really appreciate the detail and how you show each step.
YOUR INSTRUCTIONS are very helpful to me ..thank you
Thank you for the video I have been having this problem since two weeks after installation I'm going to fix this your presentation was on point thank you again.
Very clear zoom views and very clear spoken instructions. Thank you.
Very clear and concise instructions. Thank you!
Thanks a mil, I forgot about the lip that prevented me from pulling the mechanism out. The last time I repaired one was more that 25 years ago.
My door was not rolling well at all...I turned the screw and raised
the door and now it works perfect...Thanks!

Hello from South Africa. This was such a great help thank you!
This is exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks for uploading the vid. Very helpful
Thank you so much. Very useful video with detailed instructions.
Excellent video and the best instructional I've seen on UA-cam thank you :)
Perfect, I’m gonna do it myself. Was thinking of calling someone. Thanks for the video
Great video. To help with others searching, this will work with Prime-Line D1525 (1.5" patio door roller assembly)
Thank you for the information. Excellent video with clear instructions.
Thank you for these clear step by step instructions.
Great video. Excellent, clear communication.
Thanks bru. You are a legend 🇿🇦
Thank you very much! Just did as you instructed and worked wonders 👌
Lekker video! Baie dankie. I’ll be doing this is South Texas in a few hours.
Hi Sir, instead of a single wheel, can replace with a longer replacement with 2 wheels, for stability sake?
This saved me a lot of money. Thank you for the detailed instructions! :D
It was a very good tutorial.❤ nicely explained and showed
Thanks so much! Really helped a lot to fix my door! Appreciated!
Just curious, isn't your door installed incorrectly? shouldn't the sliding side be on the inside and not on the outside so someone trying to break in can't just remove your door? 🤔
i also believe the door in install the wrong side.
I am not that experienced, but all sliding doors I've seen are sliding outside. When the door is locked it cannot be lifted out of the track.
@@hannesbezuidenhout385my door slides on the outside, don’t like it, but it can’t be reversed
outside slide is correct and professional

Brilliant tutorial m8!!!! 👍👍👍
Excellent. My slider never worked right, was stiff. Ill try to fix it and it probably just always had a defective roller!
Thank you so much, you just saved me a lot of money.
If the rollers are rusted and the adjustment screw doesn't work can I just remove the upper screw and hope the weight pushes the wheel up into the frame
Terima kasiiih ber baginya pak ini sangat ber manfaat ,,salam sukses buat bapak di sana ,,,🙏🙏🙏
Very helpful, sir. Thank you!
Thank you for great video greatly explained well done
This video changed my life
Very informative and well done!
Really excellent demo. Thank you so much!

Thanks a lot, I could fix my door, next weekend will replace the windows. On my own 👍🏻 :)
This has been so helpful. Thank you so much sir.
Wonderful. This is exactly what I need to know. Many thanks.
Thanks mate', easy clear instructions.

Already done my sliding door but damn this is a great how to. Thank you

Fantastic, I’m in a condo and they are not replacing the doors but I can replace the seized rollers! Just have to find the pieces now…..
Amazingly helpful video, thank you!
Thanks, looks like my problems will be sorted out
Thanks this helped me a lot
You've saved my day.
Perfect job! nice video - thanks.
Very helpful video, thank you.
Very helpful and informative thanks
Why don't you use double rollers?
How easy it to flip the solid bit for the sliding door? I would like to switch the solid and sliding areas.
Do you mean switch left to right or outside to inside?
@@kowen5323From left to right. But now I'm thinking of removing the solid side and replace it with hinged windows.
@MartinMenge left to right is sometimes easy, sometimes difficult and sometimes impossible.
Depends on many factors.
@@kowen5323 all good, thank you
Thank you, that was helpful
Im having trouble with the ventilation strip falling out from above the door, where can I find out how it fits back in?
I find that if you lubricate the runners with grease it will prolong the life of the door.
I wish that worked on mine 🥴
Thank you. It’s a great video
you are my heroes! THANKS
Great thorough videao.. cheers
Very helpful. Thank you!
Can the glass be replaced in my medal frame sliding door?
I was going to change the doors and came cross this video thanks a million
Where we can buy this wheels thanks 🙏
Thank you 😊 Great Job
Tks. Was very helpful
That’s great IF…your slider is outside to the stationary pane. Mine is the other way around so, I have to remove the other pane to remove the slider.
Hi there. In my situation the screw is stuck, can't turn it at all. I tried the CRC but no luck. Any idea?
Thank you for this!
Thanks for the explanations
