      Thanks for appreciating this video. In fact this tip helps a lot in case of foamed panels. If the panels were not foamed then the junction ends could be folded over to one or both sides and the sewing process would be easy.

    Thanks for sharing that technique Cesar, I have run into that problem before of too much bulk on a seam which can also cause the machine to drop a stitch so will be trying this next time. Im not an uholsterer by trade but have always had a go at auto upholstery over the years with mixed results and it wasnt until I bought one of your courses a few years ago that I discovered where I was going wrong especially with patterning, so I highly recomend your courses to anyone wanting to learn.... I wish I had found you sooner. Cheers Greg

      This tip really helps when sewing bulky junctions. It is a good way to get flat edges, therefore double stitches or oversewings on top will be nice and clean.

      As for the Pfaff I only changed the look. Now it has a dark green leather cover. I only repainted it.
      This was the original color:

      My other Adler machine remains with the same brick color leather cover I also upholstered 9 years ago.

    Cesar, as always, great work and a great teacher! I'm not really set up with a small hobby area to put these lessons to good use, but I still love watching you work and picking up things for later upholstery projects around the house. Thank you very much! /Dave

    What type of needle for a home machine to do cars and trucks seats and the thread .or I need to buy a good industrial machine .

    • @Cechaflo
      @Cechaflo  Місяць тому +2

      You could do upholstery with a regular home machine but with some limitations. It is advisable the use of an industrial, heavy duty, sewing machine, alternating presser feet, double or triple transport. It could be a new one or a used one in good condition. Equipped with a servo motor to make the sewing and handle easier.
      Fortunately, there is good information on the internet:

      I hope this information helps.

    What would you say is the hardest upholstery project you have done? I want a difficult challenge

    • @Cechaflo
      @Cechaflo  Місяць тому +3

      Hello Adrian, Congratulations for your nice upholstery channel!
      IMHO any upholstery project is a challenge until we decipher the way it should be done.
      In the latest seventies I wanted to replicate those heat embossing door panels (VW and other vehicles) and motorcycle seats. It took me 3 years of research and training to achieve it. I had to study hydraulic mechanics myself to build my own big press including the embossing plates.
      Lately, regarding seat covers I took on a challenge to replicate a design of an office chair for my shop.

      @@Cechaflo thank you! And I see what you mean. Although I don’t think I could ever build my own press, that’s crazy impressive. Honestly putting my work on UA-cam is a great way to hold myself accountable cause people will always point out my flaws. All in the name of improving my end product!
