- With former CEO. In this video, I answer the job interview question "Why Should We Hire You?"
This is the best way I've ever seen to answer this question. Example and a sample answer. I also put this question in context and explain what recruiters are looking for.

There are many forms of this question:
Why should we hire you?
Why do you want to work here?
Why do you want to work for us?
Why do you want to work at our company?
Why do you want to work for us?
What makes you the best candidate?
Why do you want to join our company?
Why do you want this job?
I discuss how recruiters only really care about whether you meet the job requirements, and the difference between recruiters and hiring managers. Also, the need to do preparation and correctly prepare for your job interview, such as printing out the job description or job posting and annotating and highlighting it.
In my experience, being on both sides of interviews, using this best answer to "why should we hire you?" (or why should I hire you?) (with this example and sample) can avoid disasters and pitfalls during job interviews such as lack of flow, and the greatest flaw of all, which is not communicating your value to hiring managers, or communicating to recruiters how you meet all the posted job requirements.
I put this question in the larger context and explain what recruiters are looking for.
- What to do if you don’t meet the requirements?
- Is a paper job description in front of you OK?
- Proposed answer: Why shouldn’t you hire me? (Company vetting)
- Proposed answer: Because I don’t want to starve.
- Can I keep repeating my answer if they ask multiples of the same questions?

Yes, my interviewer asked me to tell me why I chose to apply to this company for this position and I was able to speak around this.
Finally I found something important and useful on UA-cam....that's your channel .
I need to make a Playlist of this channel to watch before my interviews lol
They already have one. Look through the channel.
I did
It was always difficult for me to understand how to answer these questions. I really like that you explain how it works from HR's side. Thank you for the content1
"You don't have to meet all the requirements... but you have to speak to them"
18 years in retail, this is probably the most important time management things I have learned.
These contents are just on point. Very straight in fact!
I am really impressed by this guy who besides providing such a valuable content, even responds to each of the comments here or just at least a ♥ heat is always seen on the comments. Appreciated
He actually did a video last week where he respond to questions. It was the first time someone from the internet took the time to respond to one of my questions. I really hope the time he invests will pay him dividends on the long term.
I don’t plan on ever leaving my job until I retire but, you are absolutely amazing asmr. If you projected the wisdom you have for work with any other video subject I would probably still listen!
Several videos of yours has been instrumental with me getting a couple of job offers! I can't thank you enough for your insight and wisdom, along with other viewers comments! Most importantly with the assistance of God that i'm able to get 2 competing job offers! Thank You!!
Just wanted to say thanks for the insight in these videos. I got a job last month as a tech recruiter and it's in no small part thanks to these videos. Many of the questions you cover came up in my interview and it was really helpful to see from the hiring manager's perspective so that I could avoid saying things that would eliminate me as a candidate. For example, I was asked if if there were things I wasn't sure about working in recruitment. Thanks to your videos I assured them that there was nothing. I also negotiated an increase on my salary after 6 months thanks to your salary negotiation video.
Thanks!
Love your videos, watched them all. Fresh and sharp perspective, no sugar coating. Thanks for sharing.
So glad, I have found your channel. Thank you.
Please make a video addressing how to approach interview questions for recent grads and senior students (college) looking for entry level positions...
thanks a lot, I love all the videos you made, they are straight to the point...
I've watched this more than ten times, the way you explain this topic really gives me the confidence that I can nail future job interviews... Thank you and keep up the good work!
I spun this to be more like me, but used the structure, and I think I blew them away. Feedback so far, is I'm their n#1. Wish me luck. Thanks big fella.
Most helpful was the last question. If they double ask you...! Thank you!!
Sir, I'm depending on your videos to get a job. Great stuff. Thank you.
Big help. Thank you!
Thanks for all the great advice!
Am on a "job hunt" for a apprenticeship and thise videos are really helpful for when i reach the interview phase
Thank you so much for your tips. I have been watching couple of viedos online couple days to learn how to pass the interview, but become more and more frustrated when i found i could not rememer those skilled answers. But your explainations gives me sparkle answers in my head, i can organize my own answer now.
You are the best ❤️
Hey thanks your interview examples have increased my skills in interviewing confidence and was successful thanks to these videos thank you regards Darren
As someone who has interviewed for many IT jobs, I can say all have still used paper for the interviews. In fact, most of them have printed out the job description and my CV for me so everyone has it for reference.
Wow you know what I try to take some notes to the interview some one told me that that's not professional.
I write stuff down in bullet point so I won't forget.
Thank you
Thanks....
I've watched many of your video's in the past. I just started working at my new job this week. I wasn't sure who I would interview after being retired for a year and a half. It threw off the interviewers when I asked them what they enjoyed about their job, and why they wake up in the morning excited to go into work. And then throwing out, where do we go from here? Thank you for the informational video's. They work.
YOUR very INFORMATIVE to the NEEDS of ALL WHO SEEKS to be EMPLOYED.
2️⃣👍🏼👍🏼⬆️⬆️‼️
I find it hard to believe that anyone would recommend those answers to the "why should we hire you" question. Aggression, defensiveness and desperation doesn't make you look good.
Submissiveness also don’t make you look good, for many roles.
I got hired today as an engineer. Thanks for your help!
That's awesome! Great job, William!
@@TheCompaniesExpert couldn't have done it without your help, Bill!
Stay safe!
YOU ARE AWESOME...
Thanks for your help
Thank you for the extended version on this. I was wondering if when someone is filling out an online application if the same principles apply. Most companies that I have applied to in the UK have online applications with several questions on it. It’s usually the first stage of the application/interview process from what I understand.
Going to an interview in 2 days.. hope for the best
Best of luck bro
May you answer to “why you need a job?”, as you mentioned. Thanks!
Sir. I've been facing rejections still last few months. But after watching your video a new fire is sparked in my soul. Thanks for sharing this information. God bless you.🙏🙏
Hello sir, will you please make a video on answer to interview question "why are you looking for a job change/switch?" (Why do you want to leave your current position?)
Cause i have watched every video of @The Companies Expert and i know i have killed all of the questions.. sounds fair Mr Hiring Manager? 🤣🤣
Thank you so much for your informative and interesting videos. I've been a subscriber for quite a while and also long before I needed this advice. I am in the job market currently after 13 years with my previous company. One thing I've not heard you talk about is character based interview questions. I apologies if you have created content in this regard that I have missed. I am from South Africa and I'm in the IT industry and there's a trend that has been prevalent for some time here that I fully support (having been a part of the interview process previously) that centers around the idea that candidates are interviewed on their "company cultural fit" in addition to or above their technical abilities. This ideology has proven very effective for the most part in my experience. What are your thoughts about this and do you have any content related to this idea and if not would you be willing to make some?
Okay first of all, companies these days tend to put not like "must ahve" requirements in their description, rather they put "we'd like someone who meets ALL of these but accepts being payed as if he met NONE of these"-lists out there.
Oh and regarding papers, I ALWAYS take my CV etc to the interview in paper, per advice of a coach I had when trying to get my first job. And there even was already an interview wehre his exact reasoning took place: The guy who interviewed me had read the CVs, but he'd gotten so many (was an entry level job) and he did not print out all of them.
During the interview, he wanted to ask me something about a specific part of my CV that had caught his eye s he'd have to start his computer and look for my CV because it was early in the morning and he did not start his PC before (something about an urgent meeting in the very morning iirc). So he asked me if I happened to have a printed version with me, otherwise he'd have to boot his PC and that's like... 5 minutes time waste to wait because PCs have to log into company server systems yadayada.
Even when applying as...software developer, there's no reason to not have your CV printed out, imagine the interviewer just forgot to print it out, it's a rather spontanous interview, printer issues (printer are demons in disguise after all, we all know that), they wanted to simply look at the pdf on screen and literally anything is acting like a dumb little kid (pdf reader, mail program, the pc at all) - like, having a printed backup of important digital docs is never a bad thing and especially people who deal with technology all day long now all the better, that there only needs to be one semi-colon placed in the wrong line for some super random IT issue to appear out of nowhere :D
Sadly, some recruiters don't really care about experience. It doesn't matter if you meet all the requirements and can produce great results. If they don't personally like you and they see your not going to kiss their ass, then goodbye. They let personal feelings get in the way of business. I've seen it done many times. Hiring friends or people they like they feel is a win for them. Until the numbers come and show poor results. Then they will do the same thing all over again.
I would think that asking "Why would I want to work at your company?" would be a valid question based on two criteria. First I would say that rephrasing the question would be necessary and second I would only ask it at the end of the interview. Just my thoughts.
I'm awesome 😀
I'm in a situation where I know I'm the last candidate, I know (and they know) that I'm asking for more money than they were expecting to pay for this position, but I'm not convinced of this position as the best thing for me. How do I approach questioning them without putting them off and making them simply go with someone within there original pay bracket.
What if we were a freshgraduate, and there were other candidates who are experienced applying for the same position?
Thank you for this video. Now I know to answer this question. I got ask this question What difficulty have you had at work? I didn’t know what to say. I hope I can find a similar video from you so that I’ll be able to know what to answer.
It's the same question as "What is your weakness?"
Thank you. I’ll watch that video 😊
Can yuo give me the exact answer sir ,.because this question is very common when yuo are applying the job,.thank you
Third one here
How do you manage to have your voice always sound the same while your microphone changes all the time?
It's because most (professional) microphones all sound very similar (about 1% difference in tone) - they just need minor changes to EQ and compression. Thanks for noticing! Hopefully it sounds good.
@@TheCompaniesExpert It does sound good. Thank you for your reply.
😀
Can't you say because I think that me working here will result in all of us earning more money.
How to deal with a cross country interview or a manager
Why would 3 people click on dislike on this video for?
I had an interview the other day where the hiring manager as well as the CFO provided background on themselves an then said "the next 25 minutes are yours. Go ahead." This was very odd to me, but then i just began speaking about my current role and accomplishes and mentioned things that are not on my resume. How is a person supposed to proceed in an interview like this?
Presentation time! It's handy to have an elevator pitch. Then, it's all about how to present and how to sell. You can look those up on Google/UA-cam. Then, it's a matter of having 5 or so success stories on the tip of your mind that illustrate your value.
Sir, I have got a call for a job Interview.. I am from secondary research field but in requirements I read that they are asking for Data Analysis also.. how should I tackle this?? And how to talk on that point? Please answer 🙏

Well then you win the GRAND PRIZE! (which is secretly knowing that you're the best!)
...and then lording it over everyone else!
That is a stupid question created by journalists to fill a page and picky people thought that was useful, if you don't know, what are you doing in your position.
