I find it ironic that they want someone trustworthy with a high degree of integrity yet expect candidates to lie during an interview in order to hear what they want to hear.
Agree
You are so kind to say, “you are awesome!” It’s such a great motivation to listen to. I always watch the whole video till the end because I want to earn the the purpose of the phrase.👍🏼
Your recommended answer is legit true in my case lol. I've been chewed out by my lead before for putting too much effort, and consequently time, to improve the quality of the product, rather than just half-ass it to present to the client asap
My only true weakness is not being able to say no, I feel and obligation to work, and if there is any job I can help in I will stay until job is done or I’m no longer needed, I have never turned down one day of overtime I have lost friends and family does not talk to me because of it, I have missed out on weddings, birthdays, graduations, because I put my job above all, I’m going to be 26 in October and I have been a rotating equipment mechanic since I was 19, a apprentice from time I was 18…. I have learned so much and I’m a lead mechanic now, but it really did cost me everything, I have a job interview today at chevron for mechanic role, top pay would be 48 hr in 2 years I am nervous but I really hope I get this, then I can feel like all the sacrifices I made was worth it.
@Smatchet hey man I was top candidate, out of 600 applicants
I was offered 48hr top pay starting out.. my current job offered to Match that and make me a supervisor, they are paying for my leadership courses and any other training or certification I want.
I decided to stay to try and get some supervisor experience, so far I like it, it is a little stressful. But it’s experience that doesn’t come by easily.
The best part is did not burn the bridge with chevron, they told me to give them a call when I’m ready.
I have the superintendents cellphone number and she keeps in touch from time to time.
@@Itsjerrry1 Congratulations brother!
@The Companies Expert, you are true to your name. You really are an expert on this. Your advice is GREAT. Took a bunch of your talking points and applied some modified answers to my last interview. I think it went well. It's a Sunday night right now but I'm HOPING for an offer or, at least, a second interview tomorrow or sometime next week. Thanks so much, my dude.
I have a interview tomorrow about my dream job.
Thank you for the videos because I’m learning a lot. My weakness is that I find it hard to say no to people and sometimes it results in me taking on too many responsibilities .
Did you get the job?
Yo, did you get the job??
Thanks!!! INDEED, THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST ANSWERS I'VE HEARD IN MY LIFE! VERY COMPREHENSIVE! VERY PRACTICAL!
Wow You are the hero! I have just passed my interview answering all the questions with unexplainable confidence simply because I spent time watching your videos! Thank You so much You are awesome!!!!
You are a Rockstar, Philippe! Way to go!
Man, this guy is good. I am surprised that the video is free.
I have a video interview tomorrow. I am nervous and yet I feel very qualified for the job. Your videos are helpful. I'll keep you posted.
UPDATE: I had my video interview and I feel very comfortable with how it went. It ran the full hour.
They worked a checklist of questions.
Some where leadership questions, organizing questions and what brought me to this field...
I can say with some certainty that being genuinely passionate about why you're there is critical.
Do research on the position.
Have sensible questions at the end or when appropriate.
At the end of the interview they explained the next step in the hiring process and what may be expected of me.
We'll see what happens.
That reminds me. I need to send a thank you note.
Good luck 🤞🏻 Fingerscrossd for yh
Good luck. That job is your.
What happened
Thank you for your advices, its really helpful.
Hello you got great advice and its very easy to understand. I hope i remember all this for an interview
This guy will never fail any interview. J bet you $1000000000000000000000
Just got off a video interview, 4 person panel!
Was intense but not over whelming as a first 'big boy' job. They asked for 3 professional references, hoping this is a good thing. Wearing a business shirt was a good last minute call.
My brain is swimming a little bit. Thanks Bill, your videos helped!
Good job, Jay - those are never easy. Yes - asking for references either means a) nothing or b) a good thing. It's never a bad thing.
Any updates? Did you get the job?
GREAT content! Thanks for creating this series. I've been in the professional workforce for 30+ years and this is always the hardest question. Great insights on how to address this question.
Thanks, Keith!
Standard is a very ambiguous term especially in a job interview situation + it often draws bad attention rather than good, let them know what you find as a personality trait you are working on to improve and own who you are.
Loved it!
Thank you!
Merci! Im mostly interested by your entreprenship advices. But i watch your interviews’ advices because I used them as actual work advices.
Since I’m not searching for a job (not sure if that is a good thing), I often quote your words during casual meetings/conversations. Without exagération, this channel gives brain orgasms in term of inspiration! Keep being awesome! 👏
Wow! Thanks, Wahab - I'd like to do more entrepreneurship stuff, but my views always drop off a cliff when I do. I'll do as much as I can going forward. Thanks for your kind words!
Video quality is looking great! And your tips have helped me ace my interviews, thank you!
It's really was very helpful literally thanks for the feedback
My weakness is getting even a damn rejection letter. Government will subsidise 50% of my pay for 3 years. I have over 12 years running, operating a building a customer support service for 1 country and helping 7 other countries run theirs. I am respected, I have run a company's marketing with a 0 budget and gotten them noticed. Also did market research and made them ready to open a new market for themselves.

I’m here to say thank you 🎉just got my job❤ appreciate your help..
Congrats, Bac! Glad to hear!

Very helpful
Thank you. This video came at the right time; I'm finishing up my degree and I'll be looking for a job in my field. Polishing up my interviewing skill is important. Specifically the part about responding to the question with humor. My weakness is pasta, but I'll leave that tidbit to another time...
ye I gave once a very honest answer and turns out that's not what the recruiter wanted to hear :D As you said, it's a game so you have to play it. And the one who wins, is rarely the most honest person
Sometimes recruiters want a glittering answer rather than honest answer. Why???
Depends on the person
@@happymindedness5326 most of them
That question is asked by those who don't know how to interview.
That sounds like it
Hi, your videos are so good, please share your ideas on ideal employee for any company in terms of work, relations, perks, promotions.
Interviewer: What is your weakness?
Me: Bold of you to assume I have only one.
Never understood this question, why focus on a weakness, I am hiring people for their strengths. I prefer to have discussions during my interviews about how to get their A talents to A+, rather than trying to get their C to a B.
I wonder, how good are these answers to the question:
Make you're weaknesses feel smaller like: "I'm a little bit shy" (rather than I'm a shy person) or "I'm not that athletic/as athletic as I want to be/not the most athletic person"
Saying some weakness that is very irrelevant for the job like: "I'm not that good with numbers" (assuming it's a job where you won't work at all with numbers and calculating)
Saying some skill not required for the job: Like "I don't know Java script" (Assuming you don't have to know Java script for the job)
I usually try some of these, either downplay my weakness like "I'm a little bit" or try some weakness that doesn't matter for the job. Are these any good?
This video was very helpful, thank you!
I had an interview last week for a promotion and something similar came up... what's the the you hate most about you job? They were very persistent with this question too, would you have any generic suggestions?
👍
Hi, is it possible for a fresh graduate to work overseas as their first job? For example, I am from Malaysia but I am wishing to work maybe in America
Do you have any interviewing tips for graduates?
Hey Bill! Almost every job I've applied to has had several different interviews for the same position. If I get asked similar questions in a final interview compared to an initial interview is it a bad thing to use the same answers I used before?
Not a bad thing at all - try not to use EXACTLY the same words, though. If you gave a different answer to the same question, that might be a red flag :o)
@@TheCompaniesExpert thank you so much!!
I encounter this but different question it was my final interview. WHAT IS MY BIGGEST FAILURE IN CAREER LIFE?. I tell her the truth then after an hour and said they already found an applicant. By that i was devastated bcoz the process takes 1month and some of my application i decided to withdraw so that i tell her that i have no pending application. So telling the truth or exercising your integrity is not the best in answering interview?.
@@MrHuntingClaw i got this but @thecompanyexpert. He said that should we tell "No" further pending application. Bit confusing. Or it depends on the recruiter
The most hard question that ask to me was.. if I'll be a vegetable what am i and relate it to the position I'm applying for?
tell them thats a dumb question and throw a hard object at them
Ahahaha. I told them. I'll be a CABBAGE bcoz the job need to be flexible like cabbage can substitute or remix in other dishes. After that interview i was hungry
Hi
I just want to know- what you do you mean by "I have very high standards..." what do standards refer to here?
Understanding this one would help me get better concept of answering such question..
Thank You.
As I understood it, he means "I am a conflict-prone person. But I am like that because I have high standards, and many people don't understand that". Now if that isn't your weakness, I think it isn't gonna work. However, he supplies what he calls a "template" that you can tailor to your specific weakness.
What is your weakness? Being on Earth. haha
