Then no on would watch it. It’s called false advertising done on purpose. If it was called Wade then no one would watch it. That’s why it’s called Knuckles. So we can think it’s his show.
Wait, there was supposed to be a Knuckles show? Strange. I thought it was the Wade Whipple show. A Knuckles show would have been way cooler than what we got!
I found this show incredibly annoying. I ended up losing all immersion, and I ended up losing all respect I ever had for Wade. In the movies, he was literally just a side character who did 1 or 2 funny things for 1 or 2 minutes. I did NOT want to see him running around and play bowling, much less in a sea of Marvel humour, with almost everyone except his mom acting like complete man-babies.
Looks like we got the same issue as like it was with Transformers live action movies: "Too much humans, less about the characters that are called Transformers in the title".
I wonder now how Shadow will be portrayed. Considering Ian’s latest podcast confirming Shadow’s character after the many notes and revisions from SegaSammyJapan of all things, the movie might be his last saving grace. Sonic fans can’t seem to catch a lucky break for more than a few months after some sort of success after years and years of mid.
What i've gathered from comments and reviews i've come across. The plot of the show is that Knuckles is trying to find meaning and purpose, so his ancient ancestor TASKED him with helping Wade train for his bowling tournament. Among all the things they could have done, they went with helping WADE win a bowling tournament?😑 We went from fighting aliens, gods, robots, time travel, dimention hopping, and now we're in a timeline where the best we get for an adventure involving Sonic characters... is a whole season about training some guy to get good at bowling? WHAAAAAT?
Honestly, I like the deescalation. It shows how within the SCU the characters are striving to acquire a more domestic life as opposed to constantly being thrust into life threatening adventures. This version of Sonic, Miles, and Knuckles do not seek action and adventure-they seek peace and tranquility, appropriate given how their lives have been hard growing up before coming to Earth.
The Knuckles show is… okay for me. I went into this show with low expectations. I definitely wish the Knuckles show could be better but sadly it’s just mixed for a lot of people and me. The first problem with the show is the time you get to episode 4 of the Knuckles show the show just becomes a Wade show. My last problem with the show is how annoying Wanda is but she can funny at times. Overall, the show was okay and I give the show a 8/10.
The problem with the wedding scene was that it was disconnected to the rest of the movie, not because it completely overshadowed the Sonic story, because in reality its only 10 to 15 minutes long in a two hour runtime where the rest is focus mainly on Sonic and the others. The Knuckles Show is like if the wedding subplot in Sonic 2 is the movie, with the Sonic stuff feeling secondary if not tertiary, which thankfully is not, despite what some reviewers out their want to make you believe.
It would be interesting if this entire show was happening in Wade's head and we didn't find out until the end of Sonic 3. Or if the vision Wade has in episode 4 was all in his head. It would mean that we have what is known as the 'unreliable narrator' in the Sonic movies. We have a backstory for the Echidna Tribe and Knuckles that might turn out to not be real, or might turn out to only be a partial truth. This leaves it open for something else to potentially be the thing that wiped out the Owls and Echidna.
If we get another Sonic spin-off or a Knuckles S2, I *really* hope Paramount doesn't repeat the same gimmick again like this. It'll get boring, old, and infuriating real quick. Nobody likes being deceived into believing that'll get something they want only to their expectations subverted in such mediocre corporate way.
it was feeling like a fever dream beginning from when wade went to meet his mom, tho there was that cool scene of knuckles punching a guy, after that things were too weird but after the dream sequence things calmed down and things started getting good again, overall amazing show even tho i didnt exactly like the dream thing, everything else I'd say was awesome
I was pretty disappointed with this series. Knuckles was more of a background character to Wade and I thought the show was unfunny overall with annoying characters and a lacklustre story. It was a chore to get through.
To say that I wasn't expecting Wade to be the primary focus of the series would... actually be a lie. I've watched way too much TV in my life (lol) to expect anything less than the comic relief being overused in the series. And for me, more often than not, that comic relief happens to be annoying and/or my least favorite character. It's happened too many times for me to count (looking at YOU, Frozen. I still haven't recovered from Olaf's over-use.) I actually like Wade. I thought he was funny in the movies, and even with his arc in the series. But like you said, we're here for KNUCKLES. Whether you're a die-hard Sonic fan or not, that's kinda disappointing.
4:35 Well, in episode 4, the whole rock opera sequence was Wade going through Knuckles' life story about his journey through his perspective, and also Wade finding his inner Knuckles in the process. Of course, Knuckles at the start of the episode, he did say that Wade must learn to rescue himself(as part of the training, I suppose). And since this sequence has been done in a low budget rock opera performance, likely cause doing this in CGI would be too costly, and they're trying to save up as much budget they had for Sonic Movie 3 later this year.
I am a knuckles defender, and I think there is a HUGE difference betwen Wade and the wedding scene. the wedding scene is that these charcters are characters I do NOT care about and the movie makes no effort to change that, I have no connection to these chracters, But Wade in the other hand is a charcter that for sure took a lot of screen time in episodes 4 - 6 but the show made me still care about Wade and his family, and it somehow made me feel conected to these characters,
I agree with that, and while I would've preferred to see more Knuckles and other Sonic characters in the show, I'm glad they decided to give some spotlight to the characters already established in the movie universe and make it so that when we see those characters again, we look at them in a new light. I think that was the point of the show, as well as to maybe bridge the gap between the 2nd and 3rd movie as the producers said it would.
Seriously, thank you so much for this video! I NEEDED TO SEE THIS. I’m so glad I am not alone. Knuckles is my favorite character of all time and you are one of the UA-camrs that inspired me to be become who I am today. Much love from MigstaaXX❤❤
This show felt like such a disgrace compared to Sonic Movie 2. Even the first Sonic movie was better. I really REALLY hope the 3rd movie doesn't suck.. I'm worried 😓
Curious to know what did people want to see instead of what we got? Me I was hoping for more of knuckles backstory and for Rouge to be the antagonist for this show. 😢
Feel like it's because Paramount is saving money for the CGI n Idrias so thats why they shown less of Knuxs. I don't think the Knuckles show ain't horrible (Except episode 4😳) cuz at least I enjoy Knuxs grown accustom to earth thxs to Wade's family n the interesting backstory btw the villains getting screwed over by GUN. However if Paramount is going to continue making CGI for future projects, then im hella worried for the Shadow project. Knuckles getting overshadowed by Wade is disappointing but I ain't 100% mad cuz game Knuxs as a whole is my top 10 favorite character and im not exactly in love with the character (I still think Idrias Knuxs is the most goated version of Knuxs period tho). Shadow tho. He is my top 2 favorite Sonic character and if we get some random npc overshadow SHADOW in a tv show or worse movie, then already I'll be pissed n think the Sonic cinematic universe will be a failure in my eyes. I hope this doesn't become of that route n Paramount doesn't disrespect the goat cuz Shadow got tons of interesting storylines and don't deserve to be wasted by some background character. Im still going to hype for Sonic Movie 3, but for the future of the Sonic cinematic universe, I just pray Paramount knows what their doing and don't flop like DC done with the Justice League 🙏😔

Schrodinger's Knuckles Show. It exists and doesn't at the same time.
That is so confusing, like we have the "Knuckles" series, but it doesn't feature in most of it's runtime the character that is in the name.
Looks like we got the same issue as like it was with Transformers live action movies: "Too much humans, less about the characters that are called Transformers in the title".
