I've been watching all of your videos (and Dr. Karen Beckers), just want to thank you for being the voice of those who can't speak. All 3 of my dogs are on raw ever since the documentary Pet Fooled came out, then I found you. I hope to one day have the honor to meet you and Dr. Karen Becker. You've changed my lifestyle as well as all of my dogs. I thank you for that, and so do my dogs. Thank you. 🐾❤🐾

I live on the east coast Canada in the province of New Brunswick and I get herring which is sardines , the lobster fisherman use this for lobster bait so I have a direct source for 20 cents a pound!! I also get all my meat from a butcher for 50 cents a pound, I feed my dogs raw for next to nothing, I have working german shepherd bloodlines and this is the best diet by far!! White teeth, shiny coats , good muscle tone, no allergys, and way way less poop

My puppy is on a raw food diet, but he refuses to eat any sardines, sounds like a small can of sardines was too much to include. I haven't tried him on any mussels yet. He will eat a little tuna fish, he really like the salmon meal when he first ate it, now he won't eat that either.

I have a black lab who is 14 years old and she has hip dysplasia, cataracts, and she is deaf. All of her siblings have been gone for years so besides those 3 things she is very healthy. She has trouble walking as her back legs are very week and the one kinda sways to make them slightly cross. But she doesn't seem to be in pain, or at least she doesn't show it and she's not the type who ever showed pain. She has had a bubble on her leg full of blood that needed drained and on both of her ears, the one ear the blood dried up so it's kind of deformed and hard and hurts if you touch it the wrong way, but the other ear that was more recent she had to have drained and she came home with stuff wrapped around her head and that's the only time she's ever showed she was in pain and she was also drugged up. So I just want to put something yummy on top of her food because she doesn't eat as well as she did and I want to make sure it's healthy as well. I know that's a long comment so I don't expect many people to read it. But thank you if you did!

I hope you and your dog are doing well. It's very difficult to watch a loved dog's life decline in quality. I just had to put down my closest canine companion of 9 years just about a month ago. My opinion is near the end of their life, spoil them as much as you want. Chicken nuggets, chicken breast, treats, etc. As long as it doesn't make them sick, it's all in the table. Trying to make them comfortable in the last portion of their life will help you rest assured that you did your best for them before they passed away.

Crimson Legacy she was actually put down March 14th... she could barely walk and was peeing all over, her walking wasn’t good for a while but all of the sudden one day one of her hind legs stopped working and was tripping herself so we decided it was time so she didn’t have to suffer. Still miss her every day but we’ve got her ashes now🖤

Hello Sky, I'm sorry to hear that. I can relate very much to your story. My dog also lost the ability to stand up properly and lost his ability to control when he could go potty. It wasn't his fault and the vet said there was nothing more I could do for him. I also had him cremated and have his ashes sitting right next to me on my bed stand as I type this. Rest assured that you did everything you could for her while she was alive, even until the end. It's a gift that we can give our canine companions to pass away peacefully and quietly without pain or prolonged suffering. Best wishes to you and your family.

    • @aceasphyxiation
      @aceasphyxiation 4 роки тому +3

Katarina Stovall every dog is different, though switching your dogs diet too quickly can also play a role in an upset stomach. I'm not an expert, but from what i experienced it's best to slowly move your dog onto a new diet instead of flat out giving them something completely different from what they're used to. My grandmother had accidentally bought my dog the wrong food when we ran out, and when she gave her this new food without mixing it into her old one it completely messed her up. She was having inflammatory problems and all types of stuff. It would've cost us a pretty penny if we didn't wait it out and slowly ease her into a better diet. Just take it slow, and if it still doesn't work try using different things for your pup. Hope this helps 😊

  • @thoralder4963

My concern, would be with the mussels and sardines that there could be a lot of pollution contaminants from the ocean, namely mercury
Right now I add daily to my dogs water bowl (this water by the way is filtered, and alkaline ). one dropper of whole earth and sea deep ocean minerals, this is something I take daily myself to help support essential minerals and trace elements
Then I add to his organic liver treats a tablespoon of Nutra Sea Omega 3 oil he loves this this of course is something I take myself and provides daily requirements of DHA, Epa,ect
My question is I would like to step up his nutrition and I was thinking of taking my vitamin pills like magnesium, vitamin D, zinc, vitamin C, vitamin A, Perhaps grinding them all up and then and then to a water solution of approximately 12 ounces and then also adding this to his water every day maybe two or 3 tablespoons, any thoughts on this from any nutritional based veterinarians.
    Thank you

Try farm supply stores, such as Costal Farm and Ranch, Wilco Farm Store, Tractor Supply Store or a similar type of store in your area. Seriously if you can steer away from kibble your pup is better off. Homemade/fresh so much better! Blue Buf had some problems with glyphosate(think roundup) in their food & lawsuits. Raw can be a great alternative too. Do some research & find what you are comfortable with. I cook for mine and they don't want kibble anymore.

people have the single-food mentality about dogs because dogs were originally a working, objective driven, animal just like a horse. Only until very very recently are some millenials wanting to treat their dogs like human children, striving for a variety in their animals diet. An animal is still an animal, and a working animal, is usually treated and respected as such - consciously or subconsciously. My dogs are all working type and they're in great shape and I all feed them the same large-breed kibble. I do supplement their kibble for the sake of making it better. Raw diet and/or fresh food diet(like honest kitchen base mix + raw or cooked meat) is within my budget, but I am not interested in taking my time to prep for 5 dogs who eat their kibble mixed with omega 3 oil, sometimes added sardines, raw ingredients, and glucosamine supplements all very willingly. A dog is still a dog who was always bred for work and objective simplicity.

Fresh salmon may have Salmonella. My friend had a dog that pulled a salmon out of a stream, ate it, and the dog died, experiencing a lot of pain and bloat. RIP "Lorbus".

Never raw, parasites to say the least. Canned is ok or you could mix up a little "loaf" for it.

I like the idea of giving my dog sardines in her kibble, but my dog has gotten sick from it. I have tried topping with salmon oil before and she got an upset stomach. She has dry scabby skin and I need to find something that will help her.

vimal raj Thanks! Since I wrote this, I found Ultra Oil for Pets that she does great on. It is made up basically of hempseed, sardine and anchovy oils. I'm so glad she doesn't get sick from this! Still waiting to see if it works for her skin.

Shea Lawhorn how is this working for your dog? My 8lb Chihuahua is like that as well and I've taken her to vet and theyre the dumbest people on Earth telling me to switch her food to nutro lamb wholesome essentials I went and researched each and every dog foods content for Omega 3 and 6 and found wellness whitefish, salmon meal, and peas small bites. Problem is she barely eats it unless I put coconut oil in it and it gets tiring doing this all the time. I had been giving her gnc naturals skin and coat with omegas, but no turn out there..

The best thing you can do is switch to a 8020 prey diet raw. Do research and you will understand why. Dogs need protein ,fats, calcium and minerals. 80 % raw meat 10% organs liver gizzards kidneys. 10% meaty bones. Chicken lamb pork. Once a week put in tin of deadlines or mackerel in water not oils. Job done healthy dog great teeth great coat small stools happy healthy dog

In my area bones cost the most, especially if you buy in bulk. If you feed raw food with multiple food choices per day, it’s gonna cost you a lot. But, in your area it could be cheaper to buy.

NOTHING makes pet food "better". My dog turns his nose up at it if it has that "dog food smell". I mix real food and it comes out cheaper and safer than anything in a can, or bag. I don't have to worry about contamination recalls, either, or too much saturated fat in his diet. He gets some, but it's not like that gooey lardy stuff in the cans. He hates it no matter what topper I use to hide it. And he's not royalty, he's just a mutt with a great nose for quality food. I've tried all the tricks, and when I do, I get that look, "What are you trying to pull, human?"

How about don’t feed your dog kibble, and he will live a long and happy life. Solved. If you really care about your dogs health you’ll feed him raw and put aside your penny pinching, disgust for slimy meat, and ignorance about the “dangers” of raw meat (hint: there is none, dogs come from wolves, what do ya think wolves eat?? Not grilled chicken breast)

Elle Beckaide | Um...people can still feed their dog kibble and still REALLY care about their dogs health. Some people don’t have the time or money to transition their dog to raw. Your dog can still be super healthy on a kibble diet. Maybe the super cheap, crappy kibble isn’t good but a descent heathy kibble is fine. For me on the other hand I truly want to transition my dog to raw but I can’t because I’m only 13 and don’t have the money to do that and my parents aren’t gonna do it but I do feed my dog high quality kibble which was Acana™️ but now we recently changed to Nulo™️ and my dog is happy and healthy.
