My dog has to be on a prescription low-fat kibble. Would you make a supplement?
I purchased 11 bags for our old pup. His itching was brutal. I have to say that it worked. Unfortunately, it’s just too expensive for me during this crisis. So, I can’t afford to continue. Is it safe to give my cat some of the salmon treats?
I have used Badlands Ranch for several years and I feel confident that it gave my dog more years of a healthy life. He His coat got thick and shiny again. He had better mobility and a happier mood. Because it's expensive and Finn was large, I used it as a topper. He loved it despite being a finicky eater. I recently lost Finn. He was almost 14. He had a long wonderful life and I want to thank Superfood Complete for adding quality to that life.

My Aussiedoodle, Chica, would often go 3 days without eating any type of dog food. A friend recommended Badlands Ranch dog food. I ordered it and began feeding Chica the food with a trooper of the chicken. Chica now goes and checks her food bowl and eats all of the food at feeding time. While we suggest waiting until your puppy is a little older, for small breeds - you can start them on Superfood Complete around 9 months, medium breeds 12 months, large to XL breeds 2 years. I agree... the price is crazy.. im not an actress so i cant afford these prices. Food sounds healthy as can be, if i win the lottery I'll order it
raw food is even better than air dried imo! i'm a pet nutritionist at a local pet store in my state and while air dried is great, raw food can be much more affordable. OC Raw is what i use with my dogs. them and primal are definitely cheaper to feed per day for my 85# rottweiler

@@high_fructose_corn_syrup i completely understand. i know a day will come when i have my own mortgage or even children and i probably won't be able to feed my dogs full raw. but we always say at my job: some raw is better than no raw!! if you can find a 6.5# bag of OC Raw beef or chicken or duck for 42-45 dollars, you could make that stretch 2-3 weeks, just topping the kibble with it! i'm sure you've already thought of that but if not, that's what i tell everyone i know and it has really helped the animals of the people who have taken that advice :)❤️

This product is not very expensive. I usually make my own raw food for my dogs. This product has many great ingredients that i don’t add to my recipe. I will use this as a topper, so 3 bags will last awhile. Cant wait to try it.

My 14 year old Border Collie/Aussie Cattle Dog/Black Lab mix, and my 9 month old Rottweiler have been thriving on Wellness (14 year old) dry and canned, and Purina Pro Plan and Hill's Science diet dry and canned for sensitive stomachs (9 month old). I ordered 4 bags of 'Superfood Complete' to be given to them several times a day as a snack treat, and they go ballistic when I give it to them! They absolutely LOVE it! So, even as a fairly frequent daily treat, they LOVE this food!

Katherine thank you so very much for taking the time to develop this formula for our fur children. We also rescue 🐕 dogs. The companies who manufacture commercial dog food are killing our dogs with the scraps and toxins they pump into the kibble causing cancer and allergies etc. I have a dog that goes every month for a allergy shot, I really think its the food. I've tried to make my own food also. It takes so much prep time and storage space and yes I'm wondering did I get enough vitamins and nutrition in the food??? Your ingredients are so very 👏 amazing.
A main reason with so many people being jobless and with the prices if gas etc.Pet owners buy the less expensive food for their pets.Thats why so many pet parents buy the lower grade kibble. Its simply unaffordable with times being the way they are. I have many dogs. Many with health issues. Even as a topper ... for the dogs regular kibble sounds amazing but it still pumping gross processed food kibble filled with carcinogenic toxins in our fur babes.

I know that all of the ingredients in your food are just what every pet owner wants to feed there baby to promote health and wellness promoting a long happy and healthy life for there very best friend. Our fur babies give us so much unconditional love 💘 in these trying times when we all are faced with this worlds woes. Our pups deserve to have atleast food that is healthy for them without being filled with all of the disgusting carcasses and scraps other companies fill there kibble with. I just wish this was more affordable. I realize also that the ingredients are more expensive in these times for you also as you the manufacturer. I really wish I could buy it. I use it as a topper and my dogs love it. My senior mini schnauzer with joint issues is walking better, my 9 year old schnauzer mix has sensitive skin and stomach, everything I tried to incorporate into his bland diet made him sick (vomiting and diarrhea) this is the only food that agrees with him and his skin has improved and it has really helped his stomach (his poop is normal). My 2 small dogs developed skin issues after I started adding this to their diet. It was the only thing that changed in their environment so I knew it had to be the food. It took about 3 weeks before they really starting having issues. Now back on their previous diet for over a week, both are much better, but still not completely back to normal. I tried to update my review on the website and couldnt.

My female beagle was just a grazer with her kibble bored with it most likely. This food she devoured immediately and I feel good about giving her better food even if it’s sprinkled on top of her regular kibble to spread out longer. ❤️🙌

I just signed up for a subscription and I can’t wait to get started. I have a 94lb GSD that is 8yr old and I’ll be mixing this with another food subscription. I just halved that other subscription qty so that my guy can get his fave food with this awesome supplement. He needs all the nutrients he can get as he gets older. I want him to stick around for as long as possible, not just another year or two. He’s a big sweetheart and anyone who meets him falls in love. Sure this is pricier than other food brands, but think of the quality. One cup of real dog food trumps 3 cups of filler any day. They deserve it!

Hi there! Superfood Complete is designed to be served dry. However, you can add water to your dog's food if you'd like to further support their digestion, but adding water is not necessary with Superfood Complete. You can also gradually introduce Superfood Complete by switching out your old kibble with Superfood Complete in 25% increments until your dog has adjusted.
Thanks so much Katherine for this food. 🙏🏽 I have just received my order for the first time about a week ago, so I am transitioning my baby Ebony from Purina Pro Plan to your food and let me tell you as I take your food cut it up just a bit to add to her food as a topper untill she is fully transitioned, she is loving it. She has never waited to be fed and now she stands while I prepare her food. 😃 Even though she is not all the way transtioned into Badlands she just loves the added flavor I guess and it helps her eat the other food she is so tired of which is great b/c she is somewaht of a picky eater! I truly hope it helps with her itchy skin, and her chewing her paws. I got her just over 8 months ago as an already 5 yr old adult Chihuahua/mini pin mix (Chipin) dog, so learning her needs has been challenging especially with food, but I think now we have the right one! Couldn't be more happier grateful! 🙌🏽 This food may be a bit more then I would like to pay, for the size of the bags you receive, but if it is gonna improve her overall health, it's worth it🐶😁 Thanks again for your care and love of dogs. I was just starting to research how to make our dogs food. He was on a premium dry food, best on the market before yours, but is no longer doing well on it. Your video addressed all of my concerns, an makes good nutrition sense even for humans,,,I have polio (a neurological paralytic disease) and I intend to try out combinations of omega 3, polyphenols, immune boosters etc,,,for both Bella and myself👍💕. Smells like beef jerky. High quality ingredients. It's so expensive (even with the bulk discount) so I use it as a topper with Science Diet. My dog Rosie loves it. And so does my cat Irving. He steals pieces from the dog food bowl! We'll see if the food helps with my dog's irritable tummy.

@@badlandsranchbykatherineheigl I talked to my vet and he said there is too much meat for a senior dog, hard on the kidneys. My girl is 14 and is a large dog. But he said using this food as an occasional treat is fine. I had him read the ingredients. He said it is good food, just not ideal for senior dogs. We're going to put her on Prednizone. She might've developed irritable bowel syndrome. She gets diarrhea all the time now.
Also, I'm going to use these as rewards for teaching cat tricks.

Years ago, after the untimely death of another dog (is there ever a “timely” one), I set my course on researching dog superfoods. Much of my time is spent in the pursuit of and buying, preparing the foods for our 4 rescue dogs, along with treats. The most recent dog came from a very abusive situation and with many health issues, including a near collapsed trachea from trying to escape being constantly tied with a rope, for 3 years. He also has liver issues and skin and fur problems. He weighed 5 pounds. What he had (has) no lack of is a sweetness beyond any of seen in any dog. His ailments have been no match for that sweet sweet spirit. He has responded to the food I’ve prepared in miraculous fashion. I’ve seen, first hand, how good food ingredients, sans the bad, can bring positive changes. I came across this video and knew that the philosophy mirrored my own. The cost is not high, considering the vitamins I add to our dogs food run $60.00+/month alone. The nutrition coupled with the rescue mission is definitely something I can get behind. Ordered food and a small bag of treats on auto delivery. I still plan to keep doing what I’m doing. It is my passion. Yet, will supplement with some of the Badlands food. I can believe that Mrs. Heigl is not into this for profit alone. The world could use more dog people, like her.

It seems like most people are feeding smaller dogs with this brand. I am willing to give it a try but it is definitely a lot more expensive than what we are already feeding our large German Shepard + mutt, so I will definitely be giving an honest review after trying for the first month.

My Chihauhau loves this food but it is very hard and can be sharp on the edges, just like beef jerky, even hydration doesn’t soften it. She eats so fast I’m afraid she might choke sometime. Will you ever be making a softer brand some how?

Is this food good for teacup (8 lb) Maltipoo? And can I mix it with his homemade food, that’s what he it’s all the time. Because, his allergies to any dog food we try. I feed his with cooked beef and vegi, but I’m sure it’s not enough nutrients. He has itchy skin and hot spot around his nose.

I would agree that the product is too expensive and not sustainable for frequent purchase. I have 2 dogs that would require 2 cups of the food each that would equal to 32 oz and one bag of the superfood is only 24 oz. That means for 4 days of food would equal to approximately 6 bags for the price of $323.07 to cover for 4 days only. I want to buy this awesome food but I would go broke just in on month. Thank you for coming up with this great product and hope the price goes down.
Also for those fake comments about immediately feeding your dog this food. You know that you gradually introduce the new food and will take 9 day before you can feed your dog a full cup, otherwise they would have stomach issues. I’m reading comments on how the owners received the food and gave it to their dogs who love it.

As for the math with approximate amount of bags needed would actually still be about six bags. 2 cups per day = 32oz and one bag of the superfood is 24 oz. 32oz x 4 days = 128oz If I only purchase 4 bags at 24oz each = 96oz. I would still be short 32 oz. Hope this makes sense and why I was saying $323.07 for 6 bags to cover 4 days is not something your regular market buyers would find as sustainable price. Appreciate the company’s response and commitment to helping rescue dogs.
You're welcome! We apologize for the confusion on how much food comes in each bag. Even though our bags our 24oz, each bag contains around 7-8 cups. There is a difference between weight and volume. 8 fl oz = 1 cup when you are measuring water or liquids with a similar density to water. For example, if you were to weigh 8 fl oz of flour, it would be equal to roughly 14 fl oz by volume. The density of Superfood Complete is not similar to water so this is why it can weigh 24 oz, and measure 7-8 cups. We hope this helps. 🐾

You could do you own research to find out the portions, buy a food dryer, and make it yourself with this video as a starting point. But it’d probs be roughly the same cost with all of your time and effort amounting to more dollars lost. Vs $60 a bag or discounted if you just sign up? I don’t get why ppl are complaining about the cost. I understand some ppl can’t afford it which is sad, and I feel for them, but don’t act like this food ISNT worth the $60. $60 is better than $500 vet bill bc the pup throws up on the carpet and you’re worried it’s something severe but he just couldn’t keep down his regular food. (Which is still bad)

Grocery store mushrooms can be safe for dogs in moderation. Many varieties contain antioxidants, which can be good for supporting your dog’s immune system. Talk to your veterinarian about whether you should add raw mushrooms to your dog’s diet. The kibble’s texture is similar to dry kibble and has a bit of a “chew” to it. I have a mini schnauzer that is 9 1/2 years old. She has Cushing’s disease, liver issues, pancreatitis, and now she’s got kidney issues due to the Cushing disease. Thank YOU for your YT ad! And thank YOU for bringing awareness to what makes dogs sick -- and what keeps them healthy. A friend's dog was having seizures every evening a couple hours after dinner. A quick internet search revealed MSG causes seizures in dogs! O-M-G-! M-S-G-! It was a major ingredient on both types of dog food he was giving his dog every morning and evening. If you eat anything with an ingredient list, or feed your pet anything with an ingredient list, avoid M.S.G.! It is often disguised as 'natural flavor'. Nothing natural about it! Monosodium glutamate is a flavor-enhancer and preservative that is toxic to humans and animals! It tricks the part of the brain that feels satiated/full, so you just want to keep eating and eating and eating. I wish the US would ban it like some other countries have. It causes autism in young brains and Alzheimer's in adult brains.

Isn't that always the way? Poorer people (and pets) can only afford poorer care, food, etc. (We are not poor but our passion kind of makes us poor as we have 5 rescued dogs and 4 rescued cats as well as 5 adopted children).
The elderly and poorer dog owners are the ones who perhaps need it most. You can't blame this product as they can't help every dog. But the biggest charity for dogs might come as a way to get elderly and fixed income people a way to feed their dogs healthier. Sprinkling on top of food is like a supplement, but there is no telling if they are getting enough. It's not like they have RDAs for pets. Maybe we'll try it and shift our money from rescue charities to this food. We have some math to do.

My guess would be yes.. she’s saying it’s all natural and this is basically what you want for our special pups! If she’s not lying and it really is all natural then it doesn’t have the bad carbs & fats that most/all commercial dog foods have…. I’ve been reaching dogs food for the past year for my diabetic pup and(just ordered) hoping he likes it and it’s helps they way she’s explaining!
******DO NOT look for ANY kind of customer service from these guys. I have tried to answers to my concerns after purchasing but they will NOT address my concerns. Their responses to my concerns are things like “Oh golly gee have you started this yet?” Of course I started how else can I have concerns?

I😢😢😢😢😢😢 I wanted to like this product, I really did. After they got my money the feel good was gone. I would NOT recommend this product for parents of tiny or teacup breed of fur babies. The chunks are HUGE, hard as can be and unsuitable for our tiny babies. Do not bother contacting them with concerns because they will pepper your inbox with inane responses that have ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with your concerns. I use the word “concern “ liberally because the health and well being of my Nymphadora is of high concern to me 😢
