What a beautiful Buick and the owner is definitely very appreciative of this great classic. When he opened that hood and lit that 430 motor I had a big smile, what a great powerful sound coming from those duels. Thanks so much for doing a video on this gentleman’s Beautiful classic Buick.

Man, I just can't help smiling all the way through. One of my favourites. I can stare at that rear end all day long. What a car. 11 out of 10 from me. That's just simply perfect.
That is one sweet ride! I used to see so many Buick Wildcats, LeSabres and Electra 225’s in ‘the day’ and rarely, rarely see one today. And even better that it’s a Survivor, to boot. Thanks Lou and to Bert for a wonderful showing!
My Dad had a 70 225,that thing rode so good, this was in the mid 80's,we could all pile into it and cruise,we were a family of 6,and I remember the sound of that Quadrajet when he hit it,it had the 455 in it.
Great timing ! My buddy had one in 73, I was thinking about it the other day... I can still feel how it rode, drove and sounded. SPECTACULAR LUX CAR ! Burt made the absolute correct decision to take that car home... It was meant to be (very rare find). Color is all part of the era patina - Burt should drove it more ! Can't tell you how much I'd love to have that car . OMG !
Put me back in time! Please I remember all the great cars from the 60s and 70s .when they were designed with taste and beauty. Lou I just can't get enough of your videos of these real diamonds, they keep me going being properly safe in this time of unknown. Thanks Bruce 👍👍
That thing doesn't look like it's ever been driven but it looks like it was always meticulously maintained. No butt prints in the seats, all the rest of the Interior is absolutely perfect, the vinyl top is perfect. I bet that's the cleanest one of those on the planet.
Bert, you have a wonderful example of Buick history, thanks so much for showing it to us. I've owned a 1969 Buick Skylark Custom convertible since 1978, so I've acquired some knowledge of '69 Buicks over the years. I enjoyed checking out the 4 Guide T-3 headlights on your car, and I'm impressed by the fact that your trunk light and all the interior courtesy lights are working. This is a nice sign of attention to detail. Also, you have the steel squeeze clamp that holds the air cleaner to the heat riser pipe that comes from the exhaust manifold. And lastly, your clock is working! Congratulations on owning such a beautiful Buick. Lou, thanks again for yet another great presentation.

A friend of mine bought this car (4 door) in high school (2002) for $75. Interior was mint, and the only exterior issue was the skirts weren't put back on after a tire change. All original! The water pump was shot and grinding. I told him to buy one, and I'd help him install it. Before he could, his dad started the engine and floored it in park blowing the water pump apart, and damaging the radiator. Beautiful car that this proud and knowledgeable owner found! My next door neighbor had one, remember when he bought it new, trading in his 1965 Electra for the new 1969 one, but it was the 4 door hardtop. I remember riding around in it, a classy car! Great interview!!

Custom and Limited were different trims, with the Limited being the top level. In 1969 the Limited had wood door trim with a limited badge and different fabric and upholstery sew patterns. There was also a Limited script badge on the vinyl roof to proclaim the top trim level. The Limited plaque in the dash on this one is not correct.

Nice car!!! Amazing engine. I did notice the lack of air conditioning which is surprising in a car of its price range even for the time (1969 model year). Could have originally been sold to someone in the Pacific Northwest or the San Francisco area where there is little hot weather during the summer months. That would not have gone over in my area (New York) where we get hot, humid weather every summer. However the car is nicely preserved. Love the sound of the big 430 cu. in. V-8 engine.

@@loucostabile I like these old cars when GM was in their glory days. They probably built some of the best cars in the United States at the time. When I was a child, I saw plenty of Buicks and all of the other GM of the time. There were lots of Chevrolets and plenty of Pontiacs. I remember the Oldsmobiles and the Cadillacs of the period. Then of course there was Ford with the Fords, Mercurys and Lincolns. Don't forget Chrysler with the Plymouths, Dodges and Chryslers. Of course there was the Imperial. Lastly there was AMC. There are those who remember the Rambler, the Rebel and the Ambassador.
Hi Bert & Lou: This car came from Flint, Michigan and if you ever come to Flint in the summer, you will see a lot of classic Buicks on the road.• Interesting no air, I wonder if the car went to Canada, Maybe • Cheers from The Detroit & Mackinac Railway 🚂
I had a 1970 Electra 225. Was a great cruiser. It had the 455 big block. It was pretty well stripped except the power steering, brakes and windows, plus air conditioning. The car fooled a lot of people as far as how quick it was for a big sedan.
That is a nice car, acres and acres of Buick! My Granddaddy was a Buick fan. I worked on a 1967 Buick Electra 225 (it was a two-door with the fast-back roof design) a few months ago, same color as the 1969 in the film. The owner of that Buick had someone replace the brake master cylinder and brake booster, but couldn't start the car after the job was finished. Fortunately I traced the problem to the neutral safety switch not being plugged in. I wish all my car repair work was that easy.

'It rides like a Buick should ride' . Says it all! Always preferred Buicks over a Cadillac.... this one here... BEAUTIFUL. The lines... the engine.. . The interior... the quality of workmanship..... can't touch it.... Cadillac had serious problems competing against their own kin....lol. CHEERS God BLESS y'all

My 6th grade homeroom teacher had this exact same car. I use to put her book bag in the car at the end of the day. That was the beginning of a long love affair with Buick Electra.
My dad had several Electras. 1961 4 door hardtop, 1969 Limited Convertible, 1970 Limited 4 door hardtop, 1972 Limited 2 door hardtop. I had only a 1966 Custom 2 door hardtop. I am in pursuit of a 1973 at this time.

Great ol Buick. Glad Burt got it to preserve. At one time there wer tons of Buick dealerships in Wisconsin. My 85 Riv came from WI too. The original owner retired & move to Hotlanta. He passed & I drove it back to AZ, with AC on in 2003.
I agree, this car would make a Buick fan out of anybody! This may be called Limited, but there was definitely no limit to its appeal! In its day, the Electra 225 was like the next best thing to a Cadillac!
It`s a very nice and clean car, but it's not an Electra 225 Limited! It's an Electra 225 Custom with the wrong label badge on the dash! The Limited had a different interior, with wood grain in 69 and the Limited signature on the side panel of the roof!

My favorite era for Buick, and if I remember correctly, that color was identified as Fern Green Metallic by Buick - my favorite color on that car particularly when it has the coordinating upholstery.
wow beautiful buick!!!!! I have always loved them, love the color, my first car was my moms, 1969 impala in the same color, chevy's version of this color was called frost green in 1969, but buick was stunning , fantastic car , thanks for this posting once again :)
My aunt had a butternut yellow Electra 225 I remember driving with her in New York. She said all windows up and we were isolated from the bad people in the streets of the Bronx.
Nice car! When i was growing up the neighbor across the street from my Aunt's house had a blue Buick just like this one. Sure Camaros and Chargers may be more popular. But this is pure CLASS!!

Wisconsin is far enough north that most cars from the 60s do not have air, especially northern Wisconsin where I was born and raised. My 1977 Electra surviver looks good, but not as good as this car. Thanks Lou for another great car story and bringing us the best stuff!

NOPE.
It was at the time that this car came out that I felt that a Buick was the status symbol of all time!
Nope. Buick over Cadillac except 1959, 1962, 1970 caddies. Buick 1960 rules them all !

If you didn’t work in a suit, it was considered foolish to get a.c. - and many people paid cash for cars and to save 700-900 dollars was a big deal

Custom and Limited were different trims, with the Limited being the top level. In 1969 the Limited had wood door trim with a limited badge and different fabric and upholstery sew patterns. There was also a Limited script badge on the vinyl roof to proclaim the top trim level. The Limited plaque in the dash on this one is not correct.

well you can't have both a wife and a badass car
'It rides like a Buick should ride' . Says it all!
Always preferred Buicks over a Cadillac.... this one here... BEAUTIFUL. The lines... the engine..
. The interior... the quality of workmanship..... can't touch it.... Cadillac had serious problems competing against their own kin....lol.
CHEERS
God BLESS y'all
Hi Ed, Happy to read you enjoy this Buick. Blessings received :-) God bless you too. Cheers, Lou

My 6th grade homeroom teacher had this exact same car. I use to put her book bag in the car at the end of the day. That was the beginning of a long love affair with Buick Electra.
Hi dmicroone, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your 6th Grade Teachers car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou

Hi Pat Currie, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your 85 Riv :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
@@loucostabile The 85 Riv is still in garage with manifold leak on a battery tender while I save up.
Amazing how well kept this is!

great road trip car!!
Let's go !!
A friend drove a very nice 77 Seville.....he traded it for a 69 "Deuce and a quarter" just like this one, he loved it....
Hi Midnight Gambler, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your friends car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
I agree, this car would make a Buick fan out of anybody! This may be called Limited, but there was definitely no limit to its appeal! In its day, the Electra 225 was like the next best thing to a Cadillac!
Hi iswc27, "Electra 225 was like the next best thing to a Cadillac!" Well said, Lou
Deuce and a Quarter is what we called them in Detroit. I knew family friends who owned a 66. Brother has found himself a great car.
Hi HWolfeIII, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your family friends car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
We called them "Mafioso gunships"..either way you always show us something interesting keep up the great work..
Thank you for viewing and sharing your thoughts.

Wisconsin is far enough north that most cars from the 60s do not have air, especially northern Wisconsin where I was born and raised. My 1977 Electra surviver looks good, but not as good as this car. Thanks Lou for another great car story and bringing us the best stuff!
