My dad had a ‘62 and a ‘66 LeSabre, but he would drool over a Deuce and a Quarter. He would drive his buddy’s car and just have this content look on his face afterwards. By gone era, these are.
That’s the car I learned to drive in when I was 14 years of age back in 1973. My dad had one of these back then (ours was green) and I remember the first time I ever drove a car with me by myself in the driver’s seat (dad in the passenger seat). It was a little-travelled Arkansas highway, a pristine ‘69 Buick Electra 225, and a beautiful Arkansas evening just after supper when dad took me out in the country near our home as the sun was getting low in the sky. I was the solo pilot of that beautiful classic land yacht for 5 or 6 miles! What a memory-what a car! Thanks for sharing this with us Dennis!
I am with you my friend my Dad was a Big Buick fan. He owned the 1969 Buick Electra 225, 1970 Buick Wild Cat, 1973 Buick Electra 225 and a 1973 Buick Skylark! May he rest in peace...
My favorite of them all: the 1969 Buick Electra! To me the late 60's and early 70's is when American car design reached maturity. I'm not too much into sporty cars because I prefer comfort and elegance. So, I love the hard top land yachts and fuselage styles because they are large, as a quintessential American automobile should be! Thanks for sharing!
My girlfriends family owned a new 225, 1969. we were both in high school ,, she would pick me up Saturday morning, after the Friday night football game , I played. She was cheerleader,, we would ride around and listen to the game replay on radio,,, ,,, great times,,, CHS PANTHERS!!!
I had a beautiful '72 225, in saddle and copper-very similar to this one-what a car! I also owned a '68 300 convertible-a beautiful car, but plagued with electrical gremlins. Thanks for the great video!
Yeah, well with certain cars its no good chasing elec problems around the car. You just have to rip out the whole harness and all the components. But THEN you have to replace them with stuff engineered for situations where things Can't go wrong. Like mil spec or severe use Export or off road racing parts etc. Stuff designed where failure is unacceptable or will result in legal action. THEN you get stuff which is SO over specified that the probability of problems is on the "forget about it" level. GM sub systems are pretty solid. Fords and Mopars have years where there are Far more headaches...
I remember MY 1969 Buick Electra 225, that I had back in 1985. I bought it off the Legal Officer on my 1st ship when I was in the Navy. I wasn't a Petty Officer yet. I wish I still had it.
It was actually equal to the Cadillac, as many who could afford a Caddy or a Lincoln but didn't want to drive such a pretentious, prestigious and pricey car electric 225 was the perfect substitute.
There is a song" A duece and a quarter ain't no Cadillac " but it was damn close. It was said a Buick was a doctors car a Cadillac was the bankers car.
This show is such a great education for the young generations that do not know about these cars, their history and what they are all about. Thanks Dennis 👍
Yes! great way to start a Saturday😎 it's 9 in the morning I just finished watching this episode and I am ready to go wash my truck and head to a car show that starts at 2 p.m. . This is going to be one of the best Saturdays this year.
703 CRUIZ'N ....we missed it? Ahhhggggg. Have been vacationing there for 20 years, always go in August, never knew about this. So nice to OOB with all the cars....hope it was great....
I like Paul Burns car realy nice color to ❤️ I missing that time when people are whit people and whit the cars ❤️ I hope that time coming soon again 🤗 Good Video 👍
That Deuce & a Quarter rated at 8mpg street/ 10mpg highway. I get 8mpg street but somehow muster in 19mpg highway in mine. Definitely a dream to drive but nooo aftermarket it all❤️ I love that car
Hi! The Electra is my car, and yes you are right. I was a bit nervous to be interviewd by the one and only Dennis Gage and completly forgot about that 😅
@@mathieumorin600 Thanks for the reply. I saw this episode long ago and really like your coupe. I had a '69 Limited coupe back in about 2000. This was always my favorite year for the big Buicks. Such a graceful, elegant design! Hope you still have it and still enjoy it!
I worked behind the parts counter at an auto parts store in the late seventies, a guy said he needed a starter for a 1969 Buick Deuce and a Quarter. I had no idea what he was talking about
The ´64 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 is a so beautyful car, Jhonny D has a great taste! ;) Especially the Wheels on this great car fits PERFECT. I think THAT´s TASTE! Not these modern wheels with tiny height of rubber on big rims.. That´s something for present cars and then also not too extreme. And on 50-70s cars i think a classic custom wheel option is even the so much better choice than modern low profile tires on big rims. At this Olds you can see how nice a classic custom wheel setup WORKS!
Back in the day when you could get your car in a 2 door or 4 door hardtop, sedan or wagon . My father bought a new 1966 Ford Fairlane 2 door sedan for $2400 . No power ,no air . 289 ci 2 barrel. Those days are gone . He bought the cheapest the dealer had.
@@onlyoneamong300 , because most Québecers didn't earn enough money to afford a car like that. Also, winters are quite harsh, and cars didn't last as long in those days due to heavy salting of roads and poor corrosion protection.

The Hemi Dart in my opinion was best of the show. That color and the face on that thing reminded me of a song. Jeremiah was a bullfrog. He should name that car Kermit.

Love that 69 Electra 225. The Buick Electras were always so beautiful with incredible lines.
Notice that this Electra 225 doesnt have a/c as evident by the lack of a compressor in the engine bay

My parents bought this exact Antique Gold 225 in 69, but had a black top and black interior. I was a year old. So many memories riding in that car.
My mother had a green/ green with a dark green vinyl. Mine is white on blue with no vinyl but with the top trim

As a Brit born in 50's I love those big American cars! Just beautiful 😍 A era never to be seen again 😢
A lot better than the ev cars yuck !!
Kids today can't drive a smart car. No way would they ever be able to drive big boats like the Buick.
I'm sure it will be seen again for sure...once we get rid of enviroMENTAL-ism and Political Correctness.
My mother had a '67 225. What a beast.
They weren't cheap back then!
As always, an amazing bunch of cars. Big, heavy, powerful cars from the 60's all done up so cool. They makes my Saturday morning.
Had a 68 225.- 430. Took the Quadrajet carb off. Put a Elderbrock 750. With dual exhaust. Great Car! So smooth 🇺🇸👍
