I totally agree with her. Five years ago, I stopped going to the gym and did some workouts at home, but I was back in my comfort zone. After having back pain, I realised that I should start exercising again, but I was neither motivated nor had the energy. So in September 2022 I started just going for a walk on Sundays while drinking coffee with a little sugar (little reward) and listening to my earbuds. I felt better each time, and built up to more walks. I joined a gym in October 2023 and keep it simple, doing a workout 2 days a week (1 day upper body, 1 day lower body) without any pressure. This works very well for me. I am trying to start simple and without pressure in other areas like spending less money etc. It works very well.

    - Exercices (any kind: walking or running). If you are sedentary you can start with 5 min per day but everyday
    - Breathings exercises: diaphragm (belly breathing) as slowly as possible & "stop, breath, be" (before a meeting or entering in a room: stop a moment, take a breath and just be
    - Expressive writing (during 4 days in a raw with a timer for example for 20 min)
    - Honor your breaks throughout the day: 3 to 4 10 minutes breaks (you can do as little as 10 seconds breaks)

As someone diagnosed with ADHD and struggling with drive and motivation, I've found a simple 'hack' that has significantly helped me. Invest in a physical timer, not your phone. Set it for 45 minutes, or even just 5 minutes; if that's challenging, start with 2 minutes. When the timer begins, dive into your work. It's a straightforward yet powerful technique.

I had a real problem with motivating myself to go out of the house and do walks in nature, even though I very much enjoyed it once I did it. Last year I prayed the Lord would just "make me go" because I was so discouraged that I just couldn't make it happen. Then, this winter, suddenly I started to go for long walks almost every single day and I've come to love the cold, fresh air on my face. I am walking up to 2 hours at the moment. It greatly helps with my hip pain. I hope to see other benefits as well over time as I continue to do it. I thank God and the carnivore/animal based diet 😃

Walks -> My brain is noisy and it goes to very dark places
Conscious breathing -> Anxiety spikes up to unhealthy levels, until I manage to forget it
I'm glad it works for some, not for me.
Writing works at times, but doesn't solve issues I can't control.

@@tamtamr9081 That's exactly what I try to do. And I help myself to focus better externally by taking nice photos.
Doesn't change the fact that my brain still takes me to dark places and it's really distressing ^^' Counters the good that the walk otherwise brings.
I hope I was able to showcase better, why it's an issue for me.
Having someone with me keeps the brain occupied and more focused on good ^^

Steven, just wanted to share that several episodes ago you had a statement near the start asking people to subscribe. I usually find early requests for likes or subbing irritating (since I don't even know if I like the content yet), but I noticed you did something smart by instead sharing a quick percentage stat on watching vs subs and then asked anyone who has enjoyed an episode to considering subbing... you know the rest. I thought this was kinda brilliant, as it pointed out something true, and invited people to help the number (if they like the show anyhow). It worked for me, I subbed.Helpfully that feedback is helpful 🤷

Loved these tips! Thanks for sharing. There is just one thing Dr. Aditi said that is incorrect: “the breath is the only physiological mechanism in our body that is under both voluntary and involuntary control”
This is not true. Win Hof has proven, in a lab, that the immune response is also under voluntary control (previously thought to be only involuntary). This is done through breath and cold exposure. This discovery needs to be discussed and mentioned more.

Anyone that has tried these methods for a lengthier period of time will most likely agree that these do in fact work. You can choose a single method or add additional methods bearing in mind not to use too many as they take time. Thus everything that has been said in this interview is valid and good to disseminate.

We all know that eating healthy, exercising, meditation, breathing, no trash food, etc is THE BEST FOR US, knowledge is there, and tons of scientific proof too (sometimes I ask myself why we need to prove of this??), but there is something NOBODY talks about...the other root of stress called: spiritual/non-religious stress.. or also called EXISTENCIAL STRESS.
Existential stress is because of the lack of life purpose or life direction. Can be found, and is a decision, is not a divine tattoo in the back of the head that we cannot see. Is a decision.
I love this topic, is my purpose, and I am doing my best also to help people and give some light in the darkness because I have been there. Stressed, Anxious, with panic attacks, and sick. But I recovered.
SO YOU CAN DO IT TOO!!!
    Find YOUR WAY!❤❤❤
Life is a gift not a punishment

However, spending a bit of that time outside walking, especially in daylight is so important for ur physical and mental health, especially in winter. The most crucial thing is to dress appropriately. And half an hour is enough. Btw I am from Scandinavia and London winter weather seems pleasantly mild in comparison

@carmelpaints313 I guess that depends what your used to how are you avoiding slips trips and falls on the ice the coat ain't gona help plus we are talking about which it easier to do get your self to go for an hour and a half walk on the ice or in cold drizzle or go to the warm gym, although from a CO2 point of view you are right. People tend not to be as prepared because is mild then you don't have the stuff when it is icy.

I DO NOT agree. We can be productive without stress. I was productive because of my dreams, love and goals. Once I started being stressed I have stopped being productive. Stress that was comming from time to time made my life missarable. There is no good stress. Stress is something that shuts down the creativity and treatens the lives eg financially, phisicaly, emotional. If you want to motivate someone by stressing him you are creating cptsd.

This guy is a hundred miles a minute. He needs to slow down. Not everything needs to be science based. I suggest some spirituality on this channel to balance it out. Get some gurus on here or things about ancient knowledge. What he fails to innerstand is that science as we know it is limited as it’s controlled by the government. He’s a bit like a robot, I can see he has no emotional intelligence or he doesn’t value it & thinks it’s a weakness to be emotional. When you discover more about the woman e.g. the menstrual cycle - you’ll discover the creators of the universe - Big Mama. The unseen things to do with spirituality should be revered more so & contemplated in order to be revealed & the way this guy operates, I highly doubt whether he’ll ever be enlightened.
    Eternally scratching the surface.
This is a great podcast for business & money-related topics but anything else is skimming the surface until the host is on a deeper spiritual level so I suggest stick to those subjects.
