the kids at the school thought seymour might be getting lonely ever since the accident, so they made him this robotic replica of the superintendent. how sweet!
- You know these old mac hard drives are quite similar to the ones they have at SSD stores - Ohoho, noo, patented Apple Platters, old family recipe! - For Apple Platters... - Yes! - Yes, and you call them Apple Platters, despite the fact that they are obviously not spinning?
This is honestly so cute. Like I love the idea of everybody just living with an old hunk of junk computer like this, that's really sweet. Like he doesn't at all belittle Chalmers just for being old tech. More that please, I want a show with a character like that.
Chamlers might blame Skinner’s directions for his late arrival but it’s actually because he has stand still for a few seconds before he can do anything and was pulled over for blocking traffic.
The system error box is from System 6, but the sounds are from System 7 and the floppy disk noises are from the later floppy drives that dont have the auto inject. Yeah, I was a Mac nerd.
I actually recorded the disk noises from my Atari 1040 STF -- which indeed does not have the famous floppy auto-inject. I remember interacting with Macs with that feature, though. As a kid it reminded me of how our VCR would grab the tape
Theory: The whole house is a metaphor of a whole old Mac computer or physical part of it which catches on fire. Chalmers is the personification of the old operative system within it and Seymour and Agnes are its human user. Chalmers entering in and out represents turning the computer on and off which is why the startup sound plays when he rings the doorbell. The old operative system is too sluggish to notify any serious defect of its hard drive (the oven) so Seymour notice something's wrong but decided to ignore it before Chalmers (the operative system) start investigate and detects potential issue which he notifies but Seymour rejects to do any actions. The ham could be represented as a disc whose program is still running which Seymour decided to switch disc (to hamburgers) with the previous program still running in the background and causing further problems. The conversations with confused Chalmers (the operative system) represents the user trying to continue running the new disc while the program of the previous disc is continue causing issues which the operative system is getting aware of. Seymour returning to the kitchen represents the user returning to check the damaged hard drive which is getting critical by this point which Chalmers notifies it but Seymour keeps rejecting it. Agnes notice that the house (the computer) is on fire which Seymour denies before Chalmers leaves (turning off the computer).

Sadly History loves to repeat itself
This should get pinned
Remember, Stim kills!
Really sells the fact that Chalmers is made from outdated hardware. Someone get this man some new parts!
Clearly, he's somehow running a modern OS version because of the different startup sound
@@KanawhaCountyWX nah that's skinner's bell
I would... But have you seen how expensive parts are these days? Even on the aftermarket!
I was expecting the startup chime noise every time he opened his mouth but I'm not disappointed 😂

the Wild Eep is what did it for me lmao
It sent me back 25 years

EEEP!
That Eep sounds like Lisa Simpson.

That "Eep!" out of nowhere! I missed that sound effect.
man
chalmers should have used a recording of skinner saying "steamed hams". since he had never heard of it before
that would have been funny

The System 7 eep was perfect
creative an oddly specific twist lol good job still finding new corners of the meme
Chalmers has some really advanced AI for being so old

Ah, Supercomputer Chalmers, welcome!
Forget Super Nintendo Chalmers. Meet MacIntosh Chalmers
Probably the most creative Steamed Hams edit I've seen in a while LOL
this might be the single best steamed hams edit I have ever seen
Very nice of you to say that!
Oh, man, those sound effects bring back some old memories from my childhood.
Chalmers' system shut down from trying to process all of Seymour's insane bullshit.
Should've added an alert sound when Chalmers noticed the glow in the kitchen door.
*opens door*

the hams keep steaming
Steamed Hams but Chalmers is a tactical droid
Edit: 0:47 sounds so satisfying
good job these steamed hams videos never get old for me.
And yet the Coleco that Ralph was using was a better investment.
Ah Super Nintendo Chalmers, welcome!
I particularly love the dial up sound

As someone who used a Mac a lot back in the late 90s, this video brought back a lot of memories. Kudos.
Skinner is just beta testing the robot to see if its ready to be sent to the internet

Same. I think it might be because it's fun to see how so many people can make so many different clips and edits out of the same core concept.
The Steamed Hams videos were actually my introduction to the Simpsons :)
