- A Gardena plumber is devastated after thieves stole his work van and escaped with thousands of dollars worth of valuable equipment. The victim, Robert Powell, is now out of work and doesn’t know how long it’ll take to replace all of his stolen tools and supplies.
The theft happened on Thursday morning as home surveillance cameras captured the brazen theft outside of his home. “At 4:30 a.m. this morning, they came and took it,” Powell said, on the verge of tears. “It’s hard to replace $30,000 worth of equipment that has taken you 10 years to accumulate.”

I was. Contract Plumber, Master 4 17 of a 27 year career. Aprentice, Journeyman than Master. Bonded & Insured, but a 5 car wreck on an interstate and 2 years litigation later,, thee injurie's left me unable to continue. Insurance is of no value if you out live the e awarded settlement. I lost everything one individual could lose back then, today, I at 67 barely can walk and wonder why. Dont make sense. Then you have these free loading worthless individual,, thievin snakes capable of a shovel job. Bring back BALL AND CHAIN LABOR PRISONS.

A hidden switch that controls the gas pump/starter/whatever is pretty cheap.

My ex husband quit his career when the company he worked for failed to secure their yard and all his tools were gone. 10,000 worth of tools and company gave him 3000 to replace. He couldn’t purchase even a 1/4 of the tools needed with that. He was devastated and just gave up. It ruined our marriage.😢

they have it listed on offer up. the cops didn’t pull all the tools he had so we only got 3 of ours tools back despite more being listed and they released him immediately even though he was arrested for the same thing just last week.

There’s a lot manual tools that are very vey expensive and tools like 1 or 2 foot long . It’s crazy that’s why 1 hour labor here in California is 90$ dollars up

Not really helpful advice, arresting convicting and sending criminals to prison would be much more effective
most work trucks don’t fit in garages. ours doesn’t. either way they arrested the guy and only pulled a handful of tools he had at his home so we only got 3 of ours tools back. he was arrested and released immediately. he was just arrested for the same thing last week as well. they don’t care how many people this guy hits. the support has been really helpful though and we’re incredibly grateful for everyones help to get us back up and running.

Most of times they leave the vehicle just take the tools alone. There is a trick which applies almost to every homeowner insurance, that is if you park in your home driveway not the street the insurance will cover all expenses due to theft from your property even from inside of your vehicle. That what happened to me a few years ago tools stolen for around $6K and they reimbursed 100%
They don't want the truck.. they want the tools.. Give them a few mins and most the expensive tools are gone! Most the time they don't take the truck... 5 or 10 mins is all they need to get what they want.

Insurance is a rough shod investment. If you can afford it,, they always have excuse clause's, large deductables and annually paid lawyer firms too back um. Its to much a gamble these days, either way ya go. There all thieves.

That's not what's happening now, but the tide is bound to turn sooner or later. There has to be a point where the majority of the people have had enough and want something done about all this rampant crime.
