novice driver? How about a driver not respecting the law... Drivers with truck such as the Ford F-150 think the roads belong to them and the rules and law don't apply. I drive according to the laws and cars be passing me going at least 20 to 30 mph faster.
Teslas are not big cars and in fact a Tesla is very easy to control, however, since its electric it does have instant torque.

my point is that a lot of drivers believe the laws don't apply to them. Just because one has a 300hp truck does not mean one gets to aggressively drive faster than the law allows..
Took out three power poles and still did that much damage to a building? Had to have been doing 100 or more.
Today's cars have all kinds of bells and whistles to keep the drivers safe, but no one will ever make an idiot proof car.
Actually, autonomous cars are fairly close - perhaps another yr or two - and that day can’t come fast enough. Most of us are decent drivers, but the smaller percent of unfocused and reckless drivers place all of us at risk. We are all playing Russian Roulette on the roads, but we accept it because not driving makes life impractical.

@@diabolivirtusen-tavares-ea4645 I dont' know about others, I'm very conscious about how Tesla's tail light system works and always try to make it go off to give ppl behind me enough time to react. I could've modulate the pedal enough where that thing won't go off until i'm almost close to a complete stop, but I'm trying to avoid those who don't pay attention on the road rear ending me. Nothing baiting about this, just the way that system is designed and most ppl don't realize it.
Will some of you parents stop buying these kids fast cars that they are not mature enough for yet this is the end result no kid should have a car that has 300hp period.

Everyone’s driving so fast everywhere in LA.. I stay as calm as possible!! I don’t drive after 7pm anymore.
Tacoma and Seattle drivers are some of the very worst. They cut you off in the safety zone you had in front of you and put their brakes on. They pass illegally and dangerously and there they are at the light 1/2 second ahead of you after risking peoples' lives. I try to not drive at dark, or wet streets. I often see people who are furious that I was doing the speed limit, or coming to a full stop at a stop sign. I live away from the city and it's great.

The witness with the hat says people speed through there and that a light needs to be installed. From what I understand, the kid driving the car ran the red light on Sierra Madre Blvd and Foothill Blvd. So what difference would another light make if the person driving is going to run red lights? Absolutely no difference
That Tesla only seats 5. Please parents teach your young kids how speeding could take their life in an instant. I pray for the dead and survivors.

Its not the speed. Its called poor decisions. In case you failed the statistics, slow drivers have more incidents. Average vehicle mostly stays with speed limit and still have "accidents." Even at 5am with barely any cars in streets will have the dumbest odd vehicle crash.

Just in the last few days: I’ve had a knucklehead just miss me as he passed going +100mph, another fool make a two lane change turn right in front of me, a demented idiot going 45MPH on the freeway to cause a Frogger sitch, two idiot teens tailgate me to a few feet on a 25MPH limit street as they were prob going +50mph as they approached…
Man you ain’t lying, I drive all over LA for work and man...these past few months I really thank the Lord for me getting back home safe and alive to my family

In older cars police had to look at skidmarks, damage to the car and other objects impact to determine speed. Today the cars onboard computer and video should provide answers on the speed.

I set the speed limiter on ours whenever our kids drive it so they can’t go over a certain speed. Too bad the parents didn’t utilize that feature in this instance.

With cars having so much horsepower and torque now a days, maybe we should consider having different class car licenses [beginner (compact/slow cars) vs advanced (trucks/suvs/vans/sport cars)].
Really sad. I was riding in a car with a driver who was showing how fast he could drive. I asked him to let me get out of the car. I rather take a taxi.

Privileged kids speed in a way that is like Russian roulette. It gets worse with every generation. This is near my friend's house, luckily I'm only on Foothill for a few hundred feet to go see him.

I get amazed how many drivers ignoring red lights, especially at night, so no, traffic light isn't the answer. Speeding ticket ain't cheap so I would station at least one cop to make good revenue all day there. Come to think of it I haven't seen many cops handing out tickets these days, especially those dark tint ticket, which is easy $25 for them, no?

In the hands of a reckless teenager or young adult showing off the power and speed of a Tesla, the results are the same as with all these fatal Hellcat crashes. We have way too many high powered cars - there is no need for regular cars to be capable of a 10 second quarter mile. Its way too tempting for young drivers.
