Great video! I was going to use modpodge but was worried about wrinkles. At the last minute I found this video and switched to poly for glue. Your technique worked perfectly. Thank you
Really good tutorial...I love that You included the could've/should've parts as well, MOST every project is a learning process, no matter the experience level. The end result looks GREAT! Thanks for sharing. ~BLESSINGS~
Very good idea. Thanks, Heather. Nicely done. I appreciated your including the things you did wrong or superfluously. One request: Please consider wearing a mask when you're spray painting. Even if one thinks the spray isn't bothering them, those particles go in the air, then in one's lungs where they stay forever.
I took notes, you did a beautiful job with that table, it will take me some practice to do it the way you finished it. I really like how unique that turned out to be and the gloss really helps it to look authentic. Thank you.
Very beautiful table! My family and I are moving and I've mentioned to my Husband that I want to make a few pieces. I love this idea, I'm thinking about adding pictures of my children. Love it! ❤
Andrea Upchurch thank you :) that is a great idea for a table i bet it will look amazing :) if you add me on facebook i would love to see how it turns out :)
Lezzie Rodriguez thank you :) i use the table as my dinning table in my living room. and i have two decopauged chairs and two chairs that are cushioned. im working on the video for the cushion chair.
That is so bad ass, I'm getting my own place soon and this would be way cooler than just having a regular table. I loved the pieces you chose, i think I'll just use Dali's work for mine.
Thanks for this video! I will be working on an old table that will now be decoupaged as a tribute to Eddie Van Halen, my favorite guitarist. I'll send pics or a video when I'm done. Thanks again
Thank you for your video. I am about to decoupage a few items, just waiting on a few things. Until then, I've been watching a few videos for tips. I appreciate your comment on using the squeegee in a star motion. I'm going to watch the video on your chairs now.
I was trying to come up with an idea for a table to use for my coffee station at home. This gave me the idea I was looking for! I will use all sorts of coffee photos!! Thank you so much for your video!!
Michael Mike sorry it took so long to get back to you. that is a good question i recommend doing a test area maybe on something that you dont need or on the bottom of the table. if the ink is bleeding easily maybe try a spray sealant over the image let that dry and then do the decoupage
That looks really cool! I just now discovered decoupage and I love seeing all the cool things people can do with that technique. I'm excited to make some stuff!
Loved watching your project take shape. PVA glue is what I've seen people use most often so saying glue was absolutely fine. I'm going to try with photos :) thank you
i didn't think that the silver was going to look good but it ended up looking great. and i love the matching chair video. i would love to see a video of how it all looks put together.
Great tutorial, I prefer to use napkins. Napkin are thin so it easy to work with them and I am lazy ;) you put so much passion in your work. Table is realy great!
This was helpful, I recently picked up an old Children's encyclopaedia in a charity shop with loads of nice black and white line drawings, thinking of doing a coffee table with them.
Awesome work and Idea!!! I love your table after it was sanded down giving it that washed out beachy look and your art deco style with the collage!!! Beautiful both ways!! LOVE your style!!! also another idea to is number the back of the photos & the # on the wood table knowing exactly where it goes. :)
Thanks! So helpful. I'm starting a decoupaged table to give to my dance teacher that will be covered with dancers of all types. It's so fun!!! (and she deserves a fun table for her dance hall)
Belated 10-2016 Thank you, nicely presented even with some of the mistakes you realized and forewarned the viewer to be careful and plan accordingly. Best wishes for happiness through out your Life. PS: Sharing: Some used Elmer's Glue.(research) See UT (forgot the correct title) Decoupage floors using brown paper bags, etc. This was fascinating and I will be doing it on my outdoor shed on a trial bases. Sincerely, Learning @ 79, Mister Bruce baja ca.
thank god i watched even tho im a house painter i wasnt sure about the spray paint and it not sticking to it thanks for the tip not that i was thinking of spray painting but if i was i would have found out the hard way so ty again !
Thank you so much! I saw this table at a restaurant, it had a thick layer of clear coating on it, so it was very durable. Do you know if they use the same clear coat protective or is ir some other thing? It had drip marks on the side, so I could tell it was redone. They weren't so careful. But the too was so smooth and shiny. They put different beer labels under it, cause it was a brewery. I wonder if I pour on the protective coat will it dry so clear and shiny. Also that clear protective coat its great for mixing glitter into and glittering anything you like really. The glitter doesn't flake off that way. That Martha Stewart glitter is gorgeous! Thanks again!
Laynee Walker as far as any other types of top coat i would suggest looking some up but the one i use in the video is the one ive been useing for a while and i really like it ive had the tables done for a while now and its holding up i might in a few more months add another coat just because its being used a ton and cups and wet things keep getting left on it. im sure there are a few other top coats i had done some looking into on resin tops and its not as straight forward as this is and because its made me nerves i havent used resin yet. altho ive played around with it a little and it would be the most durable as a table top coat.
Love the video. I learned a lot! I'm new to decoupage. I was wondering what type of paper did you use? Is it a magazine? Printer paper? Bc I saw words on the back and I'm just wondering what the best types of paper to use are.
Beautiful results!! That hard, glossy finish is a thing of beauty
I am so obsessed with the fact you put nude art on a kitchen table- that is fucking rad you're awesome!
