- This video shows the process of making a photo game board. A collage of photos is laminated onto the surface, which was then sealed in with a high gloss and protective coating using Amazing Clear Cast Resin. Board will be used as a playing surface on a leather ottoman or on the floor. The clear coating of the resin table is unique and beautiful.

I have so many little souvenirs in folders like ticket stubs, brochures, matchbooks of places I have been or events I have attended. A table like this would be a nice way to preserve them and ne anle to enjoy them every day.

I am SO glad you specifically told your viewers to NOT mix too quickly!! I’m relatively new to resin; however, my biggest lesson learned is to slowly incorporate the resin to create less bubbles. A torch is great to pop them but if you mix slowly it will assist in that process. Plus you save yourself from burning arm syndrome from whipping the resin. Bonus!!

I've been using Epoxy Resin and UV resin for years now. I do recommend a polyurethane sealer as a top coat. It will help it last longer and protect against UV. And the plus side, it will harden like glass eliminating scratches. Making it more durable. It's extra work, but I do it with everything Resin.

Good morning! 🌞 Happy to hear you're diving into a new project! Yes, Mod Podge is a great choice for gluing down NFL tickets. It’s fantastic for decoupage projects and will give you both adhesion and a clear, smooth finish to keep those tickets securely in place.
Here's a quick guide for best results:
Apply a Thin Layer of Mod Podge: Brush a thin layer onto the surface where you want to place the ticket, then carefully press the ticket down.
Smooth Out Air Bubbles: Use a soft, clean cloth or roller to gently press out any air bubbles to keep the ticket flat.
You Can Now Add Your Resin: Once the Mod Podge is fully dry (ideally after 24 hours to ensure no cloudiness), you're ready to pour your resin layer for a beautiful, glass-like finish!

Great video!! Question do i have to buy a heat gun? Someone told me i needed it for the bubbles but you didkt meation it.
Ive done this using polyester resin worked just fine for me and its much cheaper to buy , just make sure you use a good quality marine grade clear resin also i used spray adhesive for the photos didnt seal them after just used resin on top . .

trying to epoxy inside a box. is it able to go up side walls? or should I start the sides and allow it to drip into the box?
I'd certainly add a comment about covering the product with a tent while drying to keep from getting tons of particulates in the top coat.
That's a great idea! We were working in a fairly well-ventilated area so we didn't have to worry about too many particulates.
Did the epoxy end up getting a yellow tint to it overtime Mark I’m looking up the product now and it mentions the possibility of it yellowing.

I have a table with a small warp. Can I put an epoxy base coat, add photos after it cures, and the another layer of epoxy over top (sanding between)? I'm trying to level it out and cover the warp/damage with photos.

Yes you can use it in molds just make sure to keep the layers thin so they don't over heat!

I have worked with resin on emblems,badges and such but I would love to try putting photographs on to slate and using the epoxy as the topcoat,I would love some tips or suggestions please,I was afraid that the mod podge or resin would distort the photographs but in your videos they look perfect,other videos show how to imprint the image on to wood,tiles etc I much prefer your method,love what I have seen so far.would love to see other ideas
Thanks for the awesome feedback! There are a ton of different ways to seal your photos, Mod Podge is a great one because it dries clear and the top coat of epoxy will fill in any streaks that a brush might cause! They also have a spray adhesion that could work as well - just make sure to do enough layers since it's a little thinner!

I wanna do exactly this .. however I wanna add just a tad bit of glitter .. so it sparkles, and possibly some gold flakes . would the process be any different?
Nope, it'd be exactly the same! Just mix the two sides of epoxy first to ensure they're fully combined before stirring in your glitter.

Once it's fully cured for 7 days, you can clean it like you would any other surface: with soap and water, with a multi-purpose cleaner, etc.

How's it holding up as far as wear and tear goes?
ACC holds up pretty well! If you do happen to notice scratches appear over time, you can just lightly sand the surface and pour another top-coat!!
I want to try this on an old coffee table but with some baseball cards instead of photos. (Don’t worry they’re all cheap beat up modern cards). Most of them are pretty thin but some are a thicker card stock. Will the different thicknesses be an issue?
Hi James - it shouldn't be an issue as the epoxy is self leveling. If you do a pour, wait for it to cure, and notice it's still uneven, you can pour a second coat on top and that should do the trick.

Hi!I make dotmandalas on mdf boards...first time i will be using a laser print out pic n sticking it at the centre of d board and then dotting around it...planning to use your technique..but can i use a decoupage glue to seal the centre picture before pouring the resin over it?
Yes! You'll just want to make sure it's fully dried before adding the epoxy!
Are these regular photo on photo paper? I tried to do this and the ink started to run 😩😩 I put like 2 coats of mod podge 🙃

Yes, they're regular photos! You have to add a few coats of mod podge and let it completely dry first! If two wasn't enough then you most likely need more!
how about using CA glue instead? it's all about holding the pictures in place until you pour and evenly spread the epoxy so I don't think that any special kind of glue is needed here.
I'm sticker bombing my desk. Can I just apply mod podge to it and then leave it... or do I also have to apply the resin / clear coating to it?
That all depends on how you like the surface after letting the ModPodge set. If you want the most long-lasting effect, we would definitely recommend doing a top coat of epoxy.

Did you treat/seal the bottom?
I noticed you didn't use a propane torch or heat gun, was it do to you spraying the alcohol? I never heard of the alcohol spray method.
Lightly spraying alcohol will get rid of any bubbles on the surface but it can also cause problems so we typically recommend the heat torch or heat gun method!

I am making a small outdoor table using wood having tiles as the top. tiles are not always even so i wanted to clear coat over the top to protect it. Is this a good idea for outdoor and over tiles?
Hi there! Epoxy does yellow over time and that yellowing is accelerated by sun exposure, so we cannot recommend outdoor use.
Coating tiles should be completely fine, however.
Great vid. Ive got a couple questions. Is this safe to use on a table where food will be served, prepared etc. If water or a cold condensating glass is placed on the surface will it change color or opacity?
Great questions! Yes, our Amazing Clear Cast epoxy is FDA approved once it is correctly mixed and fully cured. As far as a cold glass - nope, you'll be all set!
Can you use spray clear coat instead of Modpodge? I'm afraid the the Modpodge will cause streaking.
Yes you can! Just make sure it's fully dry before pouring your resin.
My table I have is rounded and I don’t really want to have the resin drip going down the sides what should I do?
Hi Julia! You could build up a "wall" around the edge of the table using a few layers of painter's tape or TuckTape and that should do the trick.
You can cover the bottom with some masking tape and the droplets will adhere there so you can easily remove it after it’s completely cured.

My question is..if u use it as a coffee table and dont use coster to keep ur cups or mugs..does resin start melting due to high temperatures of coffee or other hot food items???
The heat deflection temperature of Amazing Clear Cast epoxy is 130°F (which is when the epoxy will start to get slightly soft but return to normal once cooled) and the heat resistance is 400°F (which is when permanent damage can begin to occur)!

I'm working on doing a project very similar to this and I have a question about the Mod Podge. How long did you wait for it to dry? On the container of Mod Podge, it says it takes 4 weeks to cure. If you did wait 4 weeks, do you have any suggestions for an alternate to Mod Podge that cures faster?
Hi Kaleigh - we used regular Mod Podge and just waited until it was dry to the touch, which is around 30 minutes.

How about it you were doing a workbench with a 4 inch back splash how would you epoxy the vertical piece
Because of the consistency and the fact that epoxy self-levels, you would need to lay the piece down so it's laying flat

Yes, you can sand down the resin layer where the pictures bled and replace them.
Seal the Photos: Before embedding your new pictures in resin, seal them with a clear spray sealant (like Mod Podge or clear acrylic spray). This will protect the ink from bleeding when you pour the next layer of resin. Let the sealant fully dry before proceeding.
I see the pictures with a new much podge spray. I think that’s why it bled. I usually just spread it on with a brush. I am pretty upset, but I’m gonna try to fix it. Ty u! I will try alumilite..

is this being placed on MDF board?
I believe that is a nice piece of ply wood but you can definitely use MDF its just a little heavier.

Great question! If it is something that off-gasses like a 3M sealer, then we definitely wouldn't recommend using it - the off-gassing will cause bubbles and a terrible cure.

Im trying to make a coffee table with embedded bottle caps but it is humid in my garage. Would it be better to pour the resin inside or does the humidity not affect it to much? Also, do you have 30 minutes of open air time after the 3-4 minutes of stirring? Im afraid of feeling rushed and messing up 😅
This sounds like an awesome project! Humidity can definitely affect your projects! If you have a room/area in your home that has good ventilation then you could pour there, otherwise you may want to do a small test pour to make sure that the resin cures how you want it to. As for the worktime that typically includes the mixing time. If you don't want to feel rushed we would recommend making sure that you prepare everything beforehand so it's ready to go!!

Yes, but you'll want to make sure to seal them with something so they don't bleed when you pour your epoxy. To seal them you can either use multiple layers of Mod Podge or you can use tape or another form of lamination.

Is the possible to be done on a floor surface or even a wall?
Yes, it is possible for a floor surface! A wall would be trickier because the epoxy wouldn't be able to self-level, it would just pour down. Is there a "rule of thumb" for the amount of epoxy one will need for a certain size board? (i.e. 1 oz per square inch?) I was wondering how much I need to buy for my two projects. I don't want to buy too much (because $$$) but enough so I don't run out.
That's a great question, Laura - big projects like these can get pretty pricy so we understand wanting to buy only what you need! For the isopropyl alcohol, is there a specific percentage that is needed to disperse the bubbles? Or does it not matter? And the epoxy will self-level after the mist?
I'm making a beer pong table right now, and I'm scare of messing the resin up after sanding and handpainting the table over two weeks
It doesn't matter, just don't spray too much! A very fine mist will do the trick (if it's clear epoxy, if you've added dye to the epoxy it'll create a cell-like effect with the dye). You could use a torch as well if that's easier than the alcohol!
I have a question. I did a bar top and used wood glue to adhere the cardboard cutouts of the beer and used Famowood Glaze coat and it burned and rippled and got Yelp under neath. Any tips or suggestions? Please help
Thanks for the awesome quesiton! You have to be careful with which adhesion materials you're using because they can cause negative reactions with your resin. We don't know too much about Famowood so if you plan to use them again to re-do this project, we would recommend reaching out to their customer service for more advice!
Can this be used for a dining room table, would possible heat from bowl destroy it? Would postcards be too thick? thanks.
Hi, great question! I don't think postcards would be too thick. If you set a hot pan on the epoxy it would soften, but a bowl or mug with something hot inside will be ok!
Do you the actual pictures or photo copies of the pictures
You can use either! You just want to make sure to seal the photos really well before pouring your epoxy so the colors don't bleed out of the images!

You've got this - everyone starts somewhere. Just take is slow, wear PPE, and work in a well ventilated area!
how did you heat resin?? not all products can be microwaved
You can put your bottles in a warm water bath for 10-15 minutes before measuring and mixing - this helps a lot with getting rid of bubbles!

Hal hey there! Great question. A solid coat of mod pudge fully dried will do the trick. Make sure you’ve coated then whole thing well. You could do it twice to be super safe but one will do. Send us a photo when you have it all done!

I'm currently making a project like this with posters on a desk, I've followed all of the instructions exactly and everything is going well so far. I had built a tape "wall" around the edge to make sure the resin didnt drip down and I just peeled it off (the resin has been sittting for about 2-3 hours). When I peeled the tape off some of the resin came with it and now the sides are quite lumpy and bumpy. I was just wondering - can I sand down the sides to make them more perfect, and if so, how long into the curing process should I do so? Thanks
Yes, you can sand down! Just wait for it to cure, at least 24-48 hours. Then if need be, you can do a new clear flood coat over top.

You can! I'd just coat with a thin coat of Mod Podge as seen in the video to seal it first.

using very strong tape like gorilla tape all around table eliminates dropping resin or drips so less resin is used. then remove tape and brush sides clean then wipe allow to complete dry
That's definitely another way to do it!
what is the benefit of the hodge podge? can the pictures simply be glued to the wood using elmers?
It's to seal the photos so that they don't change color over time. Modge podge works a touch better than normal glue in our experience.

How long did the Mod Podge take to dry before putting the clear on?
I would say give it at least an hour - you'll know when it's dry because it turns clear!
This is the first time I've ever seen alcohol suggested for popping bubbles. That doesn't cause any odd chemical reactions?
When it's clear epoxy - no! When the alcohol is mixed with dyes, it creates a kind of "cell" effect.
I just did this and had never heard of the alcohol either. The spritz bottle i used spit out some alcohol droplets that caused huge divots that never leveled out. I spritzed at 45 minutes. I had to use a heat gun and a brush to get them out. I'm currently waiting on the results now...
@@deejaudible This is definitely one of the difficult parts of using alcohol! If you use too much or the droplets get too big, they can cause dimples to form! Heat guns and torches are other great alternatives and have potential to cause less damage!
I got my print outs from Walmart. Your pictures dont bleed or get ruined at all with the mod lodge or resin? That’s my biggest fear. Just asking before I do my craft tomorrow
As long as you seal the pictures with modpodge first, the resin won’t interact negatively with them!

This method with epoxy would be a great option but it's not the only one - we recommend choosing the method that works best for you!

I mix mine with a drill bit with a popsicle stick at the end like a T then mix so fast and quick that it turns whote from bubbles to make sure its mixed well. A few project ruined because the epoxy was mixed well will change your mind.
When mixing epoxy it's always best to mix slowly so you don't introduce extra air! You can still achieve a well-mixed epoxy while stirring slowly!
